The female lead is so adorable, she didn’t come off as obnoxious as many other FL characters fall into that category, instead she came off as truly hard working, innocent, and cheerful. I fell in love with her within the first 3-4 episodes, the ML had no chances whatsoever to withstand her charms. Really enjoyed to see their characters develop and fall in love. The drama is generally a very feel good one.

Finished watching it in less than 2 days. Loved it to bits. The ending was very well rounded up, no loose ends left. It was generally imperfectly perfect

The plot and its execution was so riveting, I couldn’t skip any scene at all. Yang Yang was absolutely amazing in this. You can see that he’s definitely improved as an actor. As I was watching this drama, I actually forgot he was acting, because it felt so real. The supporting cast was excellent! And so many different themes were touched upon and truly well depicted. Very impressed! 10/10

I don’t believe there’s an official English translated novel for this. The drama is based on a classical Chinese…
Ah, what a pity. I would’ve loved to read it. Thank you for replying

idk if it's just me but her acting in movies is much better than her dramas lol. like her big screened projects…
Well, I certainly hope she’ll do a good job here. In K2, her character was really rubbish so that didn’t help, and it’s been a while since then, I hope to see some improvements.

The drama started out strong but got really messy later on. Some of the narrative threads got too twisted and took over the main plot and I really don’t like dramas finishing without a proper ending or at least some hints to one. The last episode was super confusing. I have no idea why they did that.

LJS acting is pretty solid, but KY is a different story… K2 was almost ruined for me because of her. Let’s hope she’s improved

Title Run On
what.
Sometimes it’s hard for the actors to portray relatable awkward characters. It happens in Hollywood plenty of times as well, even good actors fail to grasp the concept properly.

I dropped this show at ep. 4. The drama is boring and it's a lot left unsaid between the leads. I think another…
Haha, that was my comment. I’ve seen the actors in other dramas, so I was quite surprised by their performance in Run On, and not in a good way unfortunately.

Oh, I wasn’t aware of that. Well, it’s just how I found it and still do :)

I mainly watched the scenes with the ML & FL, following the story was pretty easy anyway because it was so predictable. The plot was pretty messy if you ask me…

Watched it mainly for the FL & ML, the ML pretty much stealing the show. The SML was pretty good too, but a bit too indecisive at times.

Zhao Lusi back then still had a bit of work to do on her acting, she’s much better in The Long Ballad. Zheng Ye Cheng had the perfect expression at all times, when he needed to show that he was in love, he looked absolutely besotted, when in pain - it was completely believable, when annoyed - you could almost see the lightning coming out of his eyes.

I enjoyed it well enough, but it’s a pity they didn’t use the book ending.

Do you know why they changed the actress? Thanks
Ah I see! Such a pity they had to do this. The CGI looks super bad, at times the actress looked like she was Voldemort. Smh

I thought the drama was ok but too long for the plot. Too many flashbacks of the same scenes had me skipping through…
Do you know why they changed the actress? Thanks

This drama is 10/10. You want good acting? You got it. Superb script and casting? Check! A really well written and executed plot and multiple subplots that all weave into one? Huge fat check! Amazing fighting scenes, costumes, and art performances (dancing, singing, acting) abundant!!!

The drama encompasses so many things: comedy, romance, drama, lessons to be learned, empathy, smart plots, courage, witty tactics, loyalty, karma, and of course growth.

The growth of both the Female Lead and Male Lead was absolutely awe-inspiring. The FL rediscovered herself as a woman after many years of behaving like a man, learning to use her wits and straightforwardness to charm her husband and his entire family and household. Whereas the Male Lead became a courageous and loyal to the country official and devoted to his wife and child proper man, after he used to be a sheltered child and grew completely devoid of self-confidence in achieving something more than just art-admiring skills.

All of the other characters were well written and we didn’t have one single supporting cast show us mediocre acting skills.

The main actor and actress absolutely killed it, his charm was especially brilliant when using his intelligence and becoming more courageous. She shone the brightest when either leading thousands into battle or showcasing her insane martial arts, and of course her glow as a pampered flirting wife can’t not be mentioned either.

I LOVE LOVE THIS!

All I can say is that a couple of years without news after the drama announcement for cdramas is normal. It happened…
Same with the Long Ballad. It took ages for the actual filming to start and the casting changed quite a few times as well.
