Thanks, that’s exactly what I wrote in a different comment. Ashina in a Tang city without CG dragging him there is just so improbable... very OOC, hence why Ashina is not portrayed as the rash guy he’s in the manhua, he’s got a much milder personality here.

Oui, je sais, j'ai déjà écrit quelque chose comme ça, et certaines personnes étaient assez bouleversées

One thing that really pisses me off is that Chang Ge’s father is shown as being cold towards her, which is wrong! From the very first chapter, CG is described as Li Jiancheng’s beloved daughter. She wasn’t close to her mother, CG saying she never understood her. Her father allowed her in on important meetings and praised her. Li Shimin wasn’t involved in her upbringing to the point shown in the drama. Why are they painting white black and vice versa?

Je suis d'accord. On aurait pu prendre une meilleure décision en choisissant un autre acteur pour le rôle d'Ashina.

I am struggling to watch the drama as an adaptation of the manhua without making a billion comments on what they changed and made worse, so I’ll just try to watch it as if it’s a drama on its own, loosely based on the manhua plot, or I’ll go crazy haha OTL

I hope you have as much fun reading it as I did! It’s really well written ?

In the manhua, the ML is at first completely unhinged, rather wild. He is a brilliant commander and inspires great fear into everybody. He’s got a feral look and can be rather cruel towards his enemies.

However, as he starts opening up to ChangGe, we see a different Ashina Sun. He’s somebody deeply loyal, devoted, and protective of his people. The Ashina we first meet in the manhua would’ve never gone to Changan, but he does go there later on for the sake of our FL, that’s when he kind of “confesses” to her as well.

The relationship between these two isn’t as clear cut, but it’s deeply moving. He does talk about marrying her later into the manga. I literally squealed while reading that. I truly recommend reading the manhua. You won’t regret it!

Yeah, I can definitely feel that she’s really in tune with the manhua Chang Ge. Her hard work paid off!

But I’m happy with Reba’s portrayal of CG, I was worried she’d come off as a much stronger woman than the FL actually is, but it’s actually pretty on point. As expected of such a good actress! Still feel the ML needed to be a bit more raw and crazy-like person. But since they changed the plot, obviously they also had to change the ML character to a certain extent to fit the narrative.

OMG, what is this plot... why have they changed it so much?/sobs. Ashina in a Tang city is as unlikely as a bull dancing ballet in a tutu. He went there later on in the manhua only because of our heroine, and it showed the depth of affection and respect he held for her. Ah... T_T

Title The Untamed
Absolutely loved it. I liked the playfulness intermingled with great sadness from Wei Ying, but also the intense and serious attitude of Lan Zhan. Both have got loyalty in spades, and are very dedicated. Truly inspiring. I was impressed with YiBo, in most scenes his intensity feels real as opposed to just acted out, I really enjoyed it. The Jin bad guy was well casted, he was so creepy and annoying.

Their relationship is beautiful and the stuff literary works write of...Two damaged and conflicted souls.... one…
I think having been raised in a family which saw a parental divorce pretty early, I was able to see things a tad different as a teen (which is when I discovered NANA). My top favourites (bar Hachi) Takumi and Ren are two people on the same spectre just opposite from each other: Takumi wants love but thinks himself unworthy and so pushes it away; Ren desperately wants to be loved but has no confidence in himself and is able to sacrifice anything in his search for love even his own life. Both experienced a really messed up childhood and the journey they travel from that point onwards is just a rollercoaster, and I just can’t help going on it with them.

Nana-chan, my other fave, had the most amazing transformation from a very naive girl to an independent woman, wife, and mother. I am still desperately waiting for a continuation of the manga where she finally meets NanaO and reunites with her husband and little Ren. The torture...

I completely agree, the drama needs to have actors with mature mindsets and a lot of skill in portraying very fine character features because the smallest mistake can make whomever they’re portraying as a cliche, and we all know NANA is way deeper than just cliche rock and punk stars.
Chibi Mar 11, 2021
NANA, one of my favourite mangas ever. Ah I hope they find somebody to properly portray Takumi & Nana-chan’s relationship.

Loads of kids see it as them not loving each other, whereas the reality is entirely different, he truly believes that he’s not worthy of love and she is always unsure of her own feelings and wants. I hope that the actors portraying them will be able to showcase these very fine lines Takumi and Nana cross everyday in their life as a couple.

Hmmmm, I think you took it the wrong way. Perhaps not all artists felt obligated to be in this film, but I’m sure some did. I come from a similar country so I know how things work, you don’t need to feel so offended. There’s a good and a bad side to everything. And I’m not hating on China, I actually really like the Chinese culture. Just because I’m not in awe of the government, doesn’t mean I don’t like China. These are very different concepts. Don’t take it so personal, it’s anything but.

My faves are here too, but I’m used to this type of politics play, coming from a country with similar “mindset”. I’m just sorry for the actors.

I’m afraid your expectations of a celebrity are much too out of the realm of reality. And speaking of reality, Zhao LiYing is not Kim Kardashian, whose life I agree others can discuss since she invited cameras into her own home, family, marriage, and even bed. ZLY is an actor, who gives your a piece of art you’re meant to admire or enjoy, but she never invited you into her own life. I think you have watched way too many reality shows and because of that are expectant of others to provide as much insight into their lives.
Additionally, I don’t appreciate the personal attack. Please behave like a mature person. We are not savages after all.

I won’t reply anymore, as I believe what was needed to be said has been said and if you can’t understand such plain truths, I’m afraid nothing can make you see the light. Cheers.

I absolutely disagree. People absolutely pestered them about it and she most certainly has the right to privacy. Just because she’s an actress doesn’t mean that she needs to tell everybody everything. Most importantly, you don’t own her to demand things from her, nobody does. You should really reflect upon your entitled opinions.
