They included the fight scene between Ashina and Mr Qin’s men! I’m so happy! I loved that scene in the manhua; it was the start of an awesome relationship based on deep respect between them.

I think a big part of both the manhua and drama, is her realising that she’ll have to suffer defeats no matter how brilliant her plans and strategies are. Losing is very important in building character. Leyan’s journey is more direct because she was so weak initially and she wasn’t aware of her strengths so she couldn’t use them properly.

One of my faves, Situ Langlang is here! I’m so happy to see him in the drama. I love his naughty but genius self!

Yeah the drama adaptation makes ChangGe’s growth rather obscure. But you’re right, that is a priceless reward. Leyan is very brave to have gone through so many hardships.

That scene came to mind because it was the only time they were “against” each other, they’ve always had each other’s backs otherwise, if you know what I mean. I mean she even fainted, and he ran to her like she was the most precious thing in the world to him. Drama Ashina is already at that point <3

Yeah, it was covers up all round. The Khatun of my imagination was a super sophisticated, never one to worry or fret, soft spoken but super cold lady. I guess I was asking for too much hahaha

You’re right, in the end I’m just frustrated with the reversal of the plot and especially the dynamics in their relationship. At least it’s acted really well, but my heart breaks for Ashina /sigh

I like Leyan’s character, she’s very kind and you can see a clear character growth

She didn’t do it just to survive, I disagree. Perhaps at first it was so, but later on it was out of actually wanting to protect him and his people. She didn’t realise what her path was until later in the manhua.
