Yeah, it was covers up all round. The Khatun of my imagination was a super sophisticated, never one to worry or fret, soft spoken but super cold lady. I guess I was asking for too much hahaha

You’re right, in the end I’m just frustrated with the reversal of the plot and especially the dynamics in their relationship. At least it’s acted really well, but my heart breaks for Ashina /sigh

She didn’t do it just to survive, I disagree. Perhaps at first it was so, but later on it was out of actually wanting to protect him and his people. She didn’t realise what her path was until later in the manhua.

Not exactly true, for quite a while she tried to make herself useful to Tegin, and saved him and the division many times over. That’s how she got Ashina’s loyalty.

I understand your point of view, but I find her way of dealing with this not in character. The whole conversation with Khatun for example is so OOC on both sides.

Perhaps it wasn’t important in the drama, but in the manhua she promised complete loyalty. Loads of her actions in eps 19-21 were a betrayal of that promise. I know people don’t really care about stuff like that, but for me it’s important.

Nope, the attack on Chang’an ark. She didn’t betray him to others, but certainly his trust. In the manhua, just the idea that her schemes could’ve got him hurt, brought her to tears. Her actions in eps 19-21 are pretty strange in that regard. Well the plot is changed entirely, so really I shouldn’t add anything more.

Hmmm, actually I’m not from the west. I come from an Ex-Soviet country. So yeah... I’m not saying you can’t be patriotic, but surely some actors didn’t feel the need to be in that film but were advised otherwise. It’s happened in my country, with same governmental regime. You’re being a bit naive if you think that’s not possible.

I was very sad and surprised to hear about the divorce news especially because you’ve been on vacation with FXF just 2 months ago and had dinner together this month, but I guess spending so many months apart for filming can take its toll on a couple.
