I have a question ,why they have to be dubbed even when they speak Chinese/Mandarin?
I’m pretty sure that Yang Mi voiced her own character judging by the trailer, his voice in the trailer doesn’t really sound like him… hopefully that’s just the trailer and not the actual drama. They finished filming it 1-2 months ago or so I think.
I watched ALP, FIYS, and the Legends in a very short amount of time. I still rewatch my favourite scenes from the latter 2 dramas, every other day. Xu Kai is really good! I’m definitely going to watch his other works, both past and new ones.
I rewatched the drama since it’s finished airing and ah… such an enjoyable love story peppered with sweet friendship moments, cool game visuals, and some good life truths.
The main couple had amazing chemistry and so much skin ship! Of course Xu Kai hadn’t had any crazy make out sessions with Cheng Xiao like he did with Bai Lu in The Legends, but still so good! I believe the actress even said she’s never had so many kissing scenes, and I believe her!
Having read the novel, I’m really happy with this adaptation, be it production, plot, or casting wise. Recommended!
Given that they’ve changed about 90% of the plot, I can hardly call this drama an adaptation of the webtoon Imitation. So many differences… I don’t know even where to start enumerating. The implemented changes fundamentally altered the characters’ backgrounds, career paths, family and friendship bonds, but most importantly their beautiful love story. I feel like the beauty of the wasn’t captured.
I still enjoyed the drama to a certain extent, but I feel like the ending was a bit too unrealistic, sweet as it was. The acting was okay however some casting choices were questionable. I did like La Lima, Hyun, and Ria; very good casting choices for these characters.
I certainly recommend everybody to read the webtoon, because it’s just so good.
I finished ALP, and what can I say… I cried buckets for the last few episodes, their love for each other is just so full of devotion and dedication of one’s self. Truly awe inspiring.
I’m so glad I decided to stick with this drama when initially I didn’t think much of it for the first 13 eps or so. It was a pleasure watching it.
Okay so at ep 13. I was thinking I’d drop the drama as the plot was making little sense. However my friend who’s watched it in its entirety advised me to keep on watching, and I’m so glad that I did!
Her sacrifice and his heartbreak, followed by his own sacrifice made me tear up so much. I liked that they didn’t have any long lasting misunderstandings about their love. Some mysteries were quickly discovered. Others were let to brew for a long time. This part executed quite well, even if at first it was a bit confusing.
Now that they’ve met again, I’m on tenterhooks to see how things will develop.
This was such a gem to stumble upon! I loved the chemistry between the leads, there were no silly misunderstandings which led to break ups, everything would get sorted out as adults would do. Even the love triangle was portrayed in a dignified manner, without any underhanded and malicious actions.
I truly enjoyed this very heartwarming drama and it was really cute to see the how love blossomed between them. The ML was a rather ambitious guy and it showed not only through his academic and sports achievements, but also the way he courted the FL. The FL wasn’t some wilting flower either, she was quite determined and met his passion with her own. So sweet!
I finished reading the novel in a day. It’s so lovely and I can’t wait to see Yang Yang as Yu Tu and Dilireba as Qiao Jing Jing! I really like the personality of both the FL and ML. The plot is good too! It’s well paced and doesn’t feel makjang at all. There are many scenes that will make the viewers’ hearts throb!
Having severe Falling into your Smile withdrawal symptoms, so I’m now reading the You are my Glory novel in anticipation of the drama release. Can’t wait to watch Dilireba & Yang Yang acting together!
So far enjoying a lot. I have reached ep 19 but I do have doubt though. From which episode Male lead started liking…
I completely agree. There’s not necessarily a moment he fell for her. His initial interest just kept on growing until it turned into proper love. Just like he said: a spark, very sudden, but the feelings of love are deeper and deeper.
I’ve reread the novel and rewatched my favourite scenes so many times now…. It’s like Go Go Squid withdrawals all over for me. I can’t wait for You Are My Glory, need to find out if there’s a novel for it too.
This drama was simply so enjoyable, the book too. I hope there’ll be a season 2, but unlikely. They might ask the author to perhaps write the script without actually writing the novel, that’s the only possibility I can think of.
That scene is them making love for the first time. Smiling thought she got pregnant and Lu SiCheng was already…
Ah, I agree with that. As a relatively young actress, kiss scenes might not be that easy for her. I really enjoyed the Legends, but APL is so so for me. The plot is such a let down given the gorgeous visuals.
