I have one doubt the whole drama is the novel written by FL??..So in the novel she included body swapping??..Did…
Only in the first ep, we see the real break scene, and in the last ep, the bit where the FL talks first about the book with the editor and then discusses it with ML at their usual hotel spot, which she used in the book too.
The body swapping was indeed included in the book only, and it’s not real. She told the editor it was because she wanted to truly portray “if I were in in my lover’s shoes” type of events.
I’m interested to see the real life turn of events too. He obviously was a star in reality as well. I imagine there had been many ups and downs, not to mention a lengthy separation.
For the second anniversary of the drama, I rewatched it, and it is just so lovely. Lan Zhan is still my favourite character. I love people who are quiet and get things done, most people just talk the talk and can’t walk the walk. He however doesn’t bother with the talk, just persists on the walk. The love between the three Lotus siblings is still as sweet as ever <3
Finished watching this after marathoning it for a whole day. I’m currently ill and needed something light to watch because my head is pounding (got sinusitis). I must say this drama was the perfect choice.
Let’s start first with the ACTING! The main actors and most support actors did a very good job. Absolutely impressed Steven Zhang. He just stole the spotlight with how feminine his behaviour was at times, tiny details would be included to make a very wholesome portrayal of a young lady. Liang Jie’s acting was very enjoyable, and her cold guy portrayal didn’t feel forced at all.
The plot is rather well thought out, the characters’ behaviour was rational most of the time, with few misses. Their decision making wasn’t all makjang-like as is the case for most dramas in the body-swapping genre.
The ending was quite interesting, a bit of a surprise, but quite sweet nonetheless. I’d be interested to find out the non-book/real world narration of events. Perhaps that could be a second season?
i agree with you. young people refuse to acknowledge it's an abusive drama. My first Cdrama was Let's go watch…
In China, you first apply for the marriage license so that you are legally married and then you have the ceremony with guests. Do you know anything about Chinese customs? I feel like you don’t. I won’t even touch upon the other delusional ramblings. I’m married myself, I think I can see when somebody is in love and when somebody is fearful. Your need to be a white little cabbage doesn’t allow you to see the reality LOL

/facepalm. I have rewatched just yesterday, and in the last ep she shows her friends their registration booklets and they even asked if she was pregnant already. They also said that the ML and FL probably had the most beautiful couple photos for their marriage license. You are so set on believing that he’s abusive that you couldn’t recognise the true narrative even if it stared you straight in the face. I don’t think I need to add anything else. You’re obviously deaf to reason.
A very well executed drama with a good plot, very few dramatics, and great acting. Of course there were some bits that seemed too far fetched, but nothing off-putting. The main couple had a lot of chemistry, it was a pleasure to watch them together. There’s little romance, nonetheless you can see that they love each other a lot through their actions. Truly enjoyed this drama!
I understand your passion for data analysis, I really enjoy it too :D
As for the Top 10 dramas, I’ve watched all of them, and honestly not surprised at all! They’re well scripted, produced, and acted dramas (with some exceptions ofc). Very enjoyable and I love rewatching them every so often, especially Weightlifting fairy Kim Boo Joo, Strong woman Do Bong Soon, what’s wrong with Secretary Kim, Pinocchio, and You who came from the Stars. I’d add my faves While You Were Sleeping and Her Private Life too. I rewatch them a lot!

The sister ends up with Grunt, but the actor for Grunt in this drama is different to the one in the GGS 2 drama (they found a very handsome actor for him in GGS2, just like the books describe him)

They have the red booklets which means they registered their marriage. Legally, they’re husband and wife. Are you serious??? They showed the registration photo! Has it occurred to you that not everybody wants to be a CEO? I’d rather have a family than be a CEO, despite my Masters degree in Financial Mathematics. Don’t judge her choices, smh.
One of my first dramas… having rewatched it I realised how awkward the acting was at times, especially from the FL, but somehow I still enjoyed it. No stupid misunderstandings or triangles, it was very fresh when I first watched it. I still find it refreshing in some ways, however I don’t think I’d give it a 10 if I’d watched it now for the first time. I won’t change my initial rating mainly because the past me enjoyed it so much :D

I disagree with everything you said, but number one thing would be “he forced her to have sex despite not being married”. Did you not catch at all the multiple times it was mentioned that they were already married, they just hadn’t had their wedding reception? Moreover, she’s much less outspoken on things of physical love, but her lusty thoughts were always depicted to show that she did earn for more, but was too shy to actually voice them. I think you should read the novel… perhaps it’ll be more obvious this way. Also, she absolutely LOVED that he was the one chasing her. Perhaps the drama hadn’t made it clear enough for you, but the book should clear out any misunderstandings. She wasn’t a secretary, she was somebody who helped with a variety of things (mostly out of her own volition because she likes being useful). Have you missed out the part where she created a back end problem to find solutions to a task she was given? Sigh….
Thanks for reading! I noticed a lot of the top/fan favorite dramas form like the past 3 years are all on YouTube…
Yeah, I personally love discovering underrated dramas that are actually pretty good but somehow didn’t do that well when they aired (most likely due to the competition). I’d be very interested to see the ones you’ve found! 🤗

Yeah, it’s both Appledog and her sister that get themselves boyfriends. You’ll also have a few surprise appearances from our Tong Nian x Gun couple. There’s kind of a love triangle between DT, Appledog & Solo. But it gets sorted out eventually :)
