Cautiously putting this in my plan-to-watch list once it finishes fully airing. I hold this manhua and its female…
Just like you, I hold the manhua very dear to my heart. I’ve been following it for almost 7-8 years now, and was very excited about the drama adaptation.
CG was mostly kept true to character, but AS has been changed personality-wise (about 40% I’d say). I’m disappointed with it, but the plot is still interesting and they’ve included quite a few arcs of the manhua, so I find it enjoyable nonetheless.
Do give it a go, just don’t expect to see a like for like depiction of the manhua, because it’ll just feel frustrating to a certain extent. The acting is nice and the cinematography is good too. They’ve even included animated manhua depictions like the ones we got in 2015-16 of the Chang Ge Xing “anime”. Enjoy!
I’ve seen loads of people mention the two strands of hair, and I just don’t understand how hard can it be to google the manhua and see that Chang Ge has this hairstyle in the manhua so obviously they styled drama Chang Ge the same way. The way she dresses also follows the manhua.
What I found more amazing is that they didn’t need to add Chang Ge’s (very important) birth mark/ under eye beauty spot because Dilireba has got it already, naturally! How awesome is that?!
I love that drama. Everybody is waiting for part 2, but I heard that Zhao LiYing will not be in the sequel. She’s…
Well, currently that’s just rumours, and indeed most people agree that Princess Agents without Zhao LiYing isn’t Princess Agents anymore... we’ll see how it goes or if it even happens.
I watched Princess Agents because it was a Recommendation for this show, and actually really loved most of it.…
I love that drama. Everybody is waiting for part 2, but I heard that Zhao LiYing will not be in the sequel. She’s literally my reason for watching it... /sigh
Damn that novel is awesomeI hope it remake into drama
They said they would, it’s currently in pre-production apparently.
I am really hoping that Wang YiBo will be Xie Jing Xing because he perfectly matches the novel description, but his studio said that he hasn’t been cast (at least not yet?), so there’s still a small sliver of hope.
Admins, could you please update the new episode release schedule? We get 2 eps daily Mon-Wed. Thank you!
And while we wait for new eps, I’ll read The Rebirth of the Malicious Empress of Military Lineage novel for the billionth time. Another drama I’ve been waiting for ages /sigh
Chang Ge is 15 in the Manhua and the drama. She hasn’t yet had her coming of age ceremony. Menstruation starting at that age is absolutely normal.
Nowadays, women get their periods early because we are eating rubbish food full of chemicals and hormones (even organic food is not as “clean” as food used to be a long long time ago).
All I want is a HE for Chang Ge and Ashina Sun. I started reading the manhua in 2013-14, and been rooting for this couple for so long now... and while in the manhua they do love each other, there’s no actual ending because of the hiatus.
I hope that this drama will give us the closure we’ve been waiting for so long!
The CP and odd casting choice bothered me initially, but the leads act well and so I continued. But now at ep…
Funny thing is because Chang Ge learnt war tactics from palace masters, in the manhua Ashina Sun actually points it out that the Han seem to follow book strategies. As a seasoned warrior, he of course follows instinct as well as war formations.
I just came here to say that the scene of Lan Wang Ji crying in the rain is the most gorgeous of the whole series, and genuinely left me speechless, couldn’t even cry at first. You could see, feel, breathe, and live the heartbreak he was experiencing. Amazing. Well done, YiBo!
The drama was awesome, a big thank you to all those involved in its making.
I watched some scenes not all the episodes yetis this drama heavy on the Romantic stories or the romance isn't…
I would say that based on the manhua, the journey of the characters is a bigger part of the plot than the romance, and so far the drama showed only bits and pieces of romance.
Okay so ep 18 has raised my hopes regarding a better chemistry between CG and AS in the drama.
I like how he took her to task with her “you tried to use me” comment haha. The funniest was his internal monologue afterwards. He’s still quite possessive as in the manhua, so I’m happy about that.
The only thing I don’t understand is the visuals of some characters. There are blonde Uighur people just as the manhua depicted, why didn’t they use blonde wigs to show the obvious ethnicity of those characters? Weird decision...
I kind of came here to see the story of Li Chang Ge's and Ashile Sun, but in the end I realized that I like the…
I think because Leo Wu has got a very innocent face that you want to wrap him in a blanket, it’s hard to picture him as somebody who had Ashina’s difficult childhood. Usually such people have a more jaded look in their eyes.
I’m still on the fence regarding the main couple chemistry as I think there’s potential, I just need to see more of them together.
Somebody earlier here mentioned that historically a daughter of Li Shimin did marry a son of Du Ruhui, so perhaps it won’t be tragic after all?
