I finished it. 100 episodes is more like 50x40 mins, that's nothing and lately I really am into marathoning anime. Yes, it was fun to watch, I LOVE when rookie surprises everyone like Sakuragi,but I think I prefer to go for something more rounded like Hungry Heart as it had more character development outside the game, while Sd focuses mostly on development on the court and through the game. It felt like Slum Dunk was stripped of everything else besides the barebones, that is a strongly focused anime on what happens in court. I liked it, much to my surprise, it was very involving, the games were very interesting to watch, too bad they left out the national match... I don't see any good reason for it. I know how the manga ends, though, I looked up the final several volumes leading up to what happens after the final game is won. But SD really felt real and that is a big plus.

lol thanks for the title- I just remeber there was a blue haired girl or something I watched it as a kid. Same goes for Ace wo Nerae but that one I remebered better, maybe due to the live action version. I recall there was attack 1 live version too, i never too interest in it for some reason, maybe there really was something with that anime that made it forgettable for me, unlike ace wo nerae. I was thinking about it recently for some reason but as long as I have the title it can wait :D

But you know what I always find funny in anime like this- when they make all those dramatic decisive shots and they jump so high and even do a salto (football) and a power salto in combo with others. Some of these things seem inhumane :D Thanks, yes I'll check them out. I was looking for one anime about girls voleyball team, but this one is an old one that I don't seem to remember.

It does. No, the movies all take at various points within the story, I checked, not one of them deals wit the final nayional match. I guess, this series focuses on action, everything else is discarded. That's why overall Captain Tsubasa and Hungry Heart from the same creator I like better for being more borderline rather than clearly shojo or shounen but slam dunk was just too fun to miss. Maybe they figured since animation follows the manga so closely there is no point in further episodes, since people can read manga. Mystery. I really liked the first oening theme, too and the animation sequence was well matched.

ah! I see. sorry for somewhat spoiling it then. well sometimes the long succession of just matches can be tedious to watch BUT there is so much happening that it's incredibly involving, much to my surprise.

did you play basketball, then? You said you don't like basketball on your anime list notes. too bad there is less actual character background outside the court, but it's sooo fun to watch. I love when rookies learn at such a fast speed and impress everyone...even if they seem to have bad attitude, but that's part of growing up I suppose. And it seems to boost the morale of the team anyway. But why didn't they make more episodes to include the national match? I had to actually reach for mange to read about that last one and I noticed there were very small differences between manga and anime.I guess the final episode team they pulled from the various teams they would face in the national and they face din the past was to be meaningfulm but that seems very healf-hearted.

yeah, that's why I like japanese dramas, not those contrived ones they come up with. rarely ever the furst episodes gets my full attention but it was a film on its own right. City hall is well written, it's has the right kind of feel to it and ki suh nah was wonderful, gah even cha seung woo was all right much as I dislike this helmet head but he did fine as a politician. Plus he and Kin suh Nah had the right age and worked so well together to pull it off. I am watching anime for the time being.

Nope, I dropped shining inheritance because I found it overdone and boring, I will wait for more episodes of shark and the other two never caught my eye. Let me know about By Land and Sky, the title sounds promising. How is Toto?

haha, ale w anime.mandze mozna sie spodziewac, w sumie jak postacie mi odpwiadaja to najwazniejsze. Teraz sie wzielam za sportowe anime jeszcze ale tylko takie gdzie intuicja mi popowiada ze spodoba mi sie glowna postac i jego rozwoj. Tsubasa, przy calej sympatii, byl zbyt nierealistyczny. Jak to, wygrywac wszystkie mecze? A inne anime tego typu sa jednak troche bardziej wywazone.

to be honest I felt like some special for Hungry heart is warranted, ir's a nice series- the main character has potential but is NOT a prodigy but turns out to be a very nice, supportive, mature kind of guy and the games in this series represent a more realistic scenario. Tsubasa ALWAYS won matches, which is a highly unrealistic scenario, much as I liked it.

I'm glad you liked it :) It's cute and watchable though I don't like the main actress at all, even if she has a somewhat radian disposition, she is not good for comic roles, I always think of Kim suh Nah when I think good romcom. City Hall was actually very enjoyable as the story was very well written. Here the story is a bit uneven, though Shin Ha Kyung's character is very likeable. I will take this romcom over most others one.
