MDL ratings don't even determine anything, half the time, they're unreliable. My entire argument here is that they're not important, well. Feel free to centre your entire choice of watching dramas based on them, if that makes you feel any better, you are missing out on a lot, though. You yourself say, "unless heavily recommended", they are unreliable, so a 7.5 drama can, in fact, be worth watching.

That's not how ratings work, 8.5? its just a number, there's no way anyone actually uses these numbers to decide if they're watching unless its abnormally low. You don't even know how many people actually watched it before rating it. That 0.3 could been lost or gained from bias and fan-wars too.
