The comment section of the official Instagram is filled with comments from the Chinese and it's become so toxic that they only want the ShiDe & ShuYi's photos or information to be posted and some even said people didn't care about the side couple and asked the producer to know where the real market is or they're not gonna support this show anymore.

I forgot Mydramalist is a website that mostly consists of fans from the west and some other regions and that's why the reactions have been totally different. Sam happily smiled today which was rare compared with last week. He did say he was worried about what people might think about his character in ep 2. I bet he read lots of good reviews on Weibo & on Taiwanese forums praising his acting and ep 2 so he seemed really different today. I admit I was kind of surprised many people here were hating this ep or even Sam's way of acting. But judging from the general consensus on this website for the past few years, I'm also not surprised. But if this dropped from 8.6 to 8.3 for that scene that I don't even find that controversial, TharnType's high rating is still beyond me.

If Lin Pei Yu had some sense when she wrote this, we would get a logical explanation on why ShiDe ghosted ShuYi for 5 years in the next eps. I don't think she didn't think about that since she is a law school graduate.

Don't get what some people are complaining about. From the first season, it's already a cliche setting and story but they manage to make it work with a bang and season 2 is the same to me..another cliche time gap & misunderstanding story that happened a lot in BL novels but I think they make it work again in the first ep. I thought it would be a journey of toxic hell with no merit but I was pleasantly surprised on how they handle it. Shide knew ShuYi so well, he understood ShuYi was still a grumpy kid who couldn't digest anything when he was mad. ShuYi never let him explain so he got closer to him through his own way and people might find it annoying why he didn't just be straight with him. If you knew ShiDe from seasosn1, it's all understandable. He was the type of guy who seldom talked it out, even the breaking point of his relationshiip with ShuYi was through the help of Pei Shou Yi. He didn't even think about being together with ShuYi in the first place. He thought too much on his own. So it's not that weird to see ShiDe behave like that in the first ep. As for the major reason why he ghosted ShuYi for the past 5 years, I think it will be explained logically in the next 5 eps if the writer has some sense. They already said it before the topic of season 2 was the lack of communication between lovers.

I really don't understand why the HIStory team decided not to work with Lin Pei Yu but this woman? The writer that actually made HIStory franchise famous was Lin Pei Yu. If We Best Love series becomes an annual thing successfully, HIStory will be easily forgotten if they keep hiring some writer who can't write a good story.

And it's confirmed the writer is the same as the infamous lady who wrote MODC.
I can't believe the team still hired her after the plagiarism scandal. It's now officially a skip for me. Better comeback next time, HIStory5.

LOL The trailer looks like a fucking intense and dramatic soap opera but it turns out to be a really funny ep 1 for me. Shu Yi is the definition of tsundere. I can't stop giggling.

Up carries the acting of the entire show. Too bad the acting skills of the main leads are not consistent.

WBL is a WETV project, a Chinese media outside mainland China. HIStory is from LINETV Taiwan. The two shows belong to two different companies. The only connection between WBL and HIStory is the writer. I said they needed to make WBL a big franchisee like HIStory so we can watch it every year if they put more money in it since it's so popular right now.

Is the Uranus related to the one in sailor moon? I mean she is like many Asian lesbians childhood representation figure.

It's an extremely popular trope in Chinese & Taiwanese BL circles so it's no surprise they keep doing it.

Since it's been extremely successul, I hope WETV can give more money to this project and make it a well-round BL franchise like HIStory. The second couple of this drama could have been extended to a really good drama but I guess the budget was the issue and they didn't even think this would blow up like this level, hence only the side couple. Unlike Thai dramas, Taiwanese dramas's main issue has been the lack of budget and sponsors. It's the first Asian country to legalize same-sex marriage but it's weird that BL dramas don't get much support from many companies like Thai do.

I really wanna know who the people are in the new HIStory team. Why did they think it's the right direction after the MODC ending? I distinctly remember Chinese & Taiwanese people criticized Trapped for being too amature & cringey so I really thought they would try to be really serious this time…And then we got this overused shitty plot & jokes that would only attract young gurls & boys.
