If I watch this by the standard of most Thai BLs, it's kind of okay. But the truth is it's not a Thai BL so it's pretty disappointing. Waiting for many cringey moments to come.
Don't know why people said it's not popular. It's currently the highest rating ongoing show on Mydramalist with almost 10,000 followers. Thai bl dramas can easily get popular if the quality is good, not to mention their bombarding promotion.
This will not end badly. I'm more concerned about the executition than the ending.
The official already got interviewed by a Taiwanese media last year and talked about the story of We Best Love. They said the main couple would be apart for 5 years and then learned as adults by knowing the importance of communicating with each other and would be a mature couple in the end. So the problem for me is the execution NOT the ending.
This spin-off should not have existed, imo. It just made people feel confused and less excited even with so many theories going on. WTF were they thinking with this poor executition. And the way Gao Shi De speaks in the spin-off is like he is from a different world with those weird placing of words in mandarin. No Taiwanese speaks like that and who wrote this shit? I don't believe Lin Pei Yu's ability can't tell a logical story in season 2 by herself alone.
I think this is just some kind of special. They just put together some scenes. It's very random.
They actually spent three days filming the music video and the rest of the spin-off after they finished 2 seasons…It's the producer's idea of making it 'cuz she thought it could explain more...But the feedbacks from the fans have been really meh.
Okay. Just read what the producer said about the spin-off. They filmed it for connecting two seasons and it's NOT in the original script and Lin Pei Yu was not on her thank you list for the spin-off. So it's highly likely they filmed the spin-off without the help of Lin. I wonder what the reaction of Lin when she watches the spin-off…It's totally not her style 'cuz it's really illogical and not convincing.
Chinese & Taiwanese fans are way more pissed than international fans right now....I haven't seen any comments trying to find some credible logic from the spin-off. It's basically a soap opera level of stupid to them....
I think the scene with the dad was to somehow imply that he might have been involved in their separation. I think…
Don't think it's random at all. It's just a simple hint of the next season and I got the bad vibes from him as soon as he showed up. Plus, after watching the slap scene with the five years hiatus, it's pretty obvious why his Japanese father showed up in the last ep. Duh, a typocal conservative & strict Japanese father image in many freaking Jdramas.
Just watch the engsub version of the last ep. The translation is atrocious. When Yu asked ShiDe if he was tired, ShiDe answered, "it's all your fault LAST NIGHT." He said Last Night but the tranlastor didn't translate that. It's a hint that they did have done it but international fans would not see this part any special.
