Starting this drama at 11pm was a BAD idea. It's 7:16 in the morning now and I just finished the last episode.
I'm a sucker for non-linear storytelling and guardian/guardee relationships. This delivered.
My mind is thinking more about an upcoming s2 than how I probably won't be a functioning version of myself for the rest of today. Mind you, I barely function on a NORMAL day.
It's been my favourite manga series for so long but admittingly, I don't think it's the type of thing that should have been made into a live action. Not because of the "teacher/student" premise. It's because the story has SUCH a wacky way of presenting itself that without being heavily toned down, it would feel strange with real people.
That said, I'm overjoyed this exists. MAYBE this means we'll finally get an English license for the manga and God knows how long I've been waiting for that xD So here's to hoping. There's also this wonderful bonus; the intro and outro are such a delight. Regardless of medium, those can always be enjoyed as is. And these two - which are so fun to watch - capture the feel of the series well.
