One of those movies that should have been better than what it was. It’s not bad, it just had some scenes that needed shortening and others that required more of an emotional impact
Thoroughly enjoyed Miss Truth. Interesting stories, fabulous interaction between the lead pair and a nice ending with a promise of something more. Great opening and closing titles as well!
Sadly, at the halfway mark I have decided to drop Eternal Monarch. For me, I have found the story to be so so. It’s the type of concept I really enjoy, but something is missing with this show. There’s good acting, nice filming and some of the characters and their interactions are real gems.
Hmmm, I thought the first two episodes were marvellous. Then, I felt that eps 3&4 had too many flashbacks and I was on the verge of dropping it. To me they were beginning to undermine the storyline rather than adding to it (despite the wonderful performance by our young OTP). However, like Goldilocks found during her foray into the house of the three bears, episode 5 felt just right to me. So, here is to a story that I hope doesn’t end up where I do run away :)
Overall, I enjoyed the first episode(s). Some good performances and insights. Trauma is a terrible thing. Sometimes, we just need someone to say “it’s alright.”
Why is the rating for this show so low? This show is clearly a comedy, and uses an over the top comedy style that's…
I agree. The rating should be much higher. It is an action comedy that is well balanced in my view and the best thing that CKH has done since 7th Grade Civil Servant
What a lovely, thoughtful and patient drama. So much so that this poem by Claude Mackay says it all really:
After the Winter BY CLAUDE MCKAY
Some day, when trees have shed their leaves And against the morning’s white The shivering birds beneath the eaves Have sheltered for the night, We’ll turn our faces southward, love, Toward the summer isle Where bamboos spire the shafted grove And wide-mouthed orchids smile.
And we will seek the quiet hill Where towers the cotton tree, And leaps the laughing crystal rill, And works the droning bee. And we will build a cottage there Beside an open glade, With black-ribbed blue-bells blowing near, And ferns that never fade.
Cha Yun Taek has the best line in the final episode: “I guess you’re not a clingy family.” A fabulous trio of ladies when together and were able to resonate that family vibe and similarity. Of course our couples were delightful, each and every single one of them :)
A steady, watchable, start. The King has a high, visual punch, along with a range of characters that should see the story remain entertaining throughout. I also think our leads are doing just fine :)
I don't understand why people are having issues with this drama. Apparently the ratings were very low and they…
The level of introspection is astounding - in a very good way. We are getting to see how different people react to a particular situation. Our leads, despite their initial feelings and reactions, do revisit how they feel and who they are. One can see he needs to change, despite the prompting by miss one percent, and she is brave enough to confront her feelings and then pursue her path without going over the top. She does say what needs to be said, but she does it without ranting and raving.
Our other couple are more immediate - they respond quickly and don’t necessarily change how they respond to any given situation. One is quick to anger and continues on a smouldering path, the other is bubbly and apologetic for her actions, but persists anyway (her role here is also a pleasant change to her role in Voice).
As for Ji Soo, some people are like that re their angst (as you say, this was nicely stated), but just struggle with who they are sometimes. We tend to misjudge them.
In short, I think A Piece of Your Mind is very well written.
Romance in these type of dramas usually ruins it. Forced romance between leads only because they're good looking…
There relationship improves in eps 5&6. However, I finally dropped it after ep 8. The cat and mouse elements and the amount of misdirection became too much. Not a patch on the Mentalist though, which was a great show :)
Park Sung Woong - such an awesome performance and Jung Hye In is doing a great job, however at the end of episode 3 I’m quite underwhelmed by the story. The sci-fi tones including the technology and concepts are good.

I like Weather is Fine equally. I watched Ep 14 today and it blew all the other episodes in that drams away - it was exceptional tv.
