What a great drama! I'm fascinated by the political machinations of choosing a king, and just how powerless the…
It is a great drama! All in all, one of the best sageuks made. It’s interesting to see they have increased the number of episodes from 20 to 21. There is also an amazing level of attention to detail re the sets, costuming and personal interactions. And the acting is superb.
For me Woo Joo’s journey, and JSM’s portrayal of her, is amazing. Her best friend, is the best, and Shi Joon’s ability to treat her (and his other patients, and even his father) as a human being is something to be admired.
I feel that JJH as a character is jammed into the show - yes, it’s a strong performance where he comes across as a despicable, unbalanced character, and as Lovely says below - may he choke on that strawberry, but it’s almost like he belongs in another show and not this one.
One of the great things about Dinner Mate is our OTP seem to grow with each other despite the attempts by the exes to sabotage their relationship :)
Overall, a very watchable drama. The leads were fabulous and there was good acting all round. The first ten episodes were fantastic, then it was a bit up and down from there. However, I had to keep on watching to see how it all played out.
Overall, a good watch. Some parts are more engaging than others. Our leads make a great couple and the focus throughout this drama on correct procedures, sorting out relationships and taking responsibility for a situation are very strong. There are even health tips at the end of each episode.
Finally caught up to the end of ep 8. This was a particularly good episode. Show overall is dealing really well with some extremely tough topics. As for Teddy - what a great character. He’s probably my favourite. I think it’s a pity it will only be 12 episodes :)
I liked the first ep. This looks fun and interesting.. I look forward to their hijinks and finding out the truth…
I enjoyed the episode very much and the level of NXC’s professionalism needs to be admired. She does have a WWWSK vibe and the show even has a Devilish Joy vibe about it too.
My thoughts on the matter of invading another person’s space is: how else do you portray such behaviour in a show? I certainly didn’t take the view that the show supports such a move, if that’s what the critics are saying - I think it’s showing how much YJZ is full of himself at the moment, and that this is not acceptable. NXC is handling him extremely well, and I think she won’t let him get away with such behaviour in future :)
So, there we have it. Overall, Good Casting is a good action romp with a delightful and dynamic undercover trio of ladies with really good sidekicks and colourful baddies (even if the main reveal was underwhelming) and a some nice romantic touches.
At the end of the day, Justice Bao is very watchable. I liked the initial camaraderie and cases, but not the intrigue surrounding the emperor in the later episodes. Nancy Wu was a standout, and yes, there is a cliffhanger! See Elisange’s comments below :)
