Not that I know of. The Next Prince has been in the DMD line-up for a couple of years now. I think there were changes made to the cast that kept pushing it back. Khemjira was only announced last year, or at least officially announced as part of the line up as they finally had Keng and Namping to take on the roles. If they did announce the drama earlier than that, then I don't know if they had anyone cast for the roles yet. The Next Prince has finished filming and is going to start airing in May. That means Khemjira likely won't be released until after The Next Prince is done airing.
That's probably very likely. As far as I know, DMD doesn't typically air two dramas at once. With this drama likely…
Same here. I'm also in an international fandom bubble, so I don't know how it all works in Thailand. DMD could have contracts with some TV stations in Thailand that could also affect how many shows they put out at once. They have also been growing bigger recently, I think. Maybe if we're lucky, we'll see them release more than one drama at a time in the future. They have so many dramas planned that I kind of hope they start releasing more of them in a year. Although, I guess there could be more things in play for why they don't release more than one at a time, like budget and directors' schedules and whatnot. I do think for Khemjira, it will likely take a bit more editing than some of their other dramas because of the fantasy/horror elements, so I wouldn't be surprised if it takes months after they finish filming to release the drama.

I agree. I would love to see more of their shows airing at the same time. I guess they may not do that because it might be hard for them to find TV channels in Thailand that will air more than one of their dramas at once. GMM TV can do it because they are their own channel. I think DMD has to rely on finding slots that their dramas can be put in, if they don't want to just have their shows only air on streaming services. I could be wrong, though. I have a hard time telling if their dramas are airing on TV in Thailand or not.
sorry if iโm being stupid but what does the Q12234 mean?๐
Q comes from the English word "queue". From my bits of research into this, as a loanword in Thai, "queue" can also mean appointment/time slot, used for things that need appointments like going to the nail salon, to see a doctor, etc. I think that eventually translated over into using Qs to track the filming days of dramas and movies in Thailand, as they are kind of time slots of their own since they typically have to rent out locations to film. The actors and actresses need to be booked for certain times for filming as well, which probably also helped with the Thai film industry to start using Q to track the number of filming days. Rather than using the whole English word or the Thai word, they just use Q to make it shorter, I guess. There are probably people that can explain it a bit better than I can as I don't know Thai myself, and I'm just relying on what I have learned from others. I hope I was able to explain that well enough.
sorry if iโm being stupid but what does the Q12234 mean?๐
Qs signify filming days. Q2 means this drama has only filmed for two days, which could have been at the same location or two different ones. I think most GMM TV dramas tend to have about 25-30 Qs with some having more or less, and they don't always film consecutively. It's a way to track where the filming is at, mostly for the cast and crew, but fans have started to use it to track filming progress as well.
I loved their chemistry in The Rise of Ning! ! I was hoping that we would get to see them together in another drama, so I can't begin to say how excited I am to see them in a drama together as a main couple! I will be impatiently waiting for this drama to be released.
Are they going to realese this after The next prince ends? ๐
That's probably very likely. As far as I know, DMD doesn't typically air two dramas at once. With this drama likely close to finishing filming, it would make sense for them to release it after The Next Prince is over. That will give them time to work on the editing and any CGI that needs to be added. We won't really know for certain until DMD gives us an official release date, though.
Unless I am missing something, and please feel free to correct me if I am wrong, it is possible that the reason…
I actually found out shortly after I posted that comment that Youku is now only airing dramas under 30 episodes, so I am with you on the fact that they probably chose to cut some of it for that reason. I also read something last night that some of the story was cut because Lin Yi and Ester Yu were struggling with filming the drama. I think Lin Yi got hurt on set a couple times, Ester Yu passed out during filming one of the scenes because of high altitude, and lots of the cast kept getting sick. Apparently filming across 8 different locations, plus all the cold and how physical the snowboarding scenes were, was really hard on the cast. I think that is actually why they ended up cutting a lot of the story down, they just weren't able to film it all. I did see that info from a post on FB, so please take it with a grain of salt.
As much as I'm loving the drama, I do wish they hadn't cut so many episodes. It has definitely thrown off the pacing of the story.
According to google and other sources, the average production cost for a Chinese drama costs:ยฅ 1,000,000$ 871,000ยฃ…
Unless I am missing something, and please feel free to correct me if I am wrong, it is possible that the reason the episodes were cut were to pass the censorship review so the drama could be released. I have heard of dramas in the past having to cut episodes before the Chinese government would give them the whatever is needed for them to be released because they deemed them "too long" or something. I just assumed that was the case here as well. Sometimes they have to cut stuff from the story to pass censorship as well, which could have been why they cut so many episode. I could also be wrong about that since I am just guessing, but for the most part, I just assume that dramas cut episodes to pass censorship now, even if they do lose money on it.
guys so like they cut episodes or something right?? bc im watching this through netflix and i saw that eps 12-14…
I think Netflix is getting all 23 episodes, they just haven't put all 23 on the episode list yet. I'm watching the drama on Viki, but I have checked in on some of the episodes on Netflix. So far, they have matched. The run time for the episodes are exactly the same as well. Netflix is just releasing the episodes slower. I would give it a bit more, and they may add the last 8 episodes to the drop down menu for the episode list.
I feel like I missed something or forgot something. Who was the lady in white in Ep. 11 that showed up and asked Gwan Sik if he recognized her? I can't place her, so that scene confused me. It felt like such a random scene to me.
Also, I don't know if this should be under the spoiler or not, so please let me know. I'll change it.
Force and Book were already in the first season, so I don't think they will be paired as new characters here.…
I can't believe I forgot that JoongDunk may be filming "Dare You to Death" in the near future when I'm so looking forward to that drama. You're right, they wouldn't be good to cast in that role as timing may be an issue. I know Aou and Boom are filming "Memoir of Roti" right now, but they would probably be done in the time needed for GMM TV to work on recasting Ohm and Leng's roles, if they decide to recast them both. I would be equally as happy to see Aou and Boom take on the roles.
manifesting either joongdunk , forcebook , or aoubooom
Force and Book were already in the first season, so I don't think they will be paired as new characters here. We may see them reprise their originals roles as guest appearances, though. I would love to see JoongDunk or AouBoom take on those roles, though.
