Title Doom at Your Service Spoiler
The preview for the next episode is a premise alright. I think only the end of the world that he wishes can fully "kill" or destroy him, if it's a wish by a human for him to grant. Having her love him won't do him anything, hence why he will try to sabotage her attempts and making her hate him or resent him rather than love him. Like Myeolmang said, "Everyone either resents me or wants me, no one loves me." so, either he wants to prove that statement or it relies a hidden truth in there that she's bound to discover. She will have to embrace misery and that can cost her something, after all Myeolmang also said, "When you gain something, you must lose something." everything in the universe has balance.

I have another thought about it and now this is what I think.perhaps he is unable to kill himself. If he could…
That's a good theory.

Myeolmang is a vessel of only able to grant others deepest wishes and causing mayhem but not in his favor. Thing is humans only think of themselves and ask for petty things so therefore he is stuck in that endless limbo, that the deity calls garden and where is a nothing but a butterfly tendering the pointless ephemeral flowers that he dislikes.
I'm not entirely sure DongKyung won't do something if there is a situation where she's bound to do it or break the contract. He warned her if she does the one she loves the most will die... but if it's him what will happen? He is encouraging her to be clingy to her fate for a reason. Although am curious if she does end up asking for a wish instead of the end of the world, she has that thought that if she loves him in the end she might survive and grant him his dying wish.
I wonder if feeling get deeper and their fates intertwined if she will think the same.

It's a 50-50 deal, either she dies or someone else must die, it's the whole balance or natural order. Not sure if neutralizing wishes might be a given point on a wish there but it's a possibility to consider. Also am rather doubtful the Deity will risk interfering with the order even if it does care for them, it also embodies and carries the weight of looking out for the rest of the "Garden" if they are a menace to that said balance, God won't do anything to risk it.

It might give help in another way though, - second chances, - if it goes in that direction, therefore the whole deal with doing "everything". It's like placing the pieces of the puzzle and create a bigger picture. There's a connection there, pushing them together. Surprisingly enough DongKyung seem to be able to trigger Myeolmang's hidden emotions...
I think she might have more influence in him than he thinks, and he will be able to make her shed tears once again.

Yet by the sudden "fear" Myeolmang seems to be getting from it, it only gives the impression that Nyeo Shin might be able to nullify or mess with his contract if necessary and therefore the wish will be void. The bracelet might be indeed DongKyung weakness hence the charging too and without she has the excruciating painful symptoms the doctor mentioned.
I really am wondering if this is a blessing or a curse.
Or if DongKyung is being a toy for deities to mess around at first.

The story has the hints of potential "clichés" plotline we've seen in other fantasy dramas like such where deities are involved, and let's face it it doesn't always end well, and when it does it involves a WHOLE lot of waiting and the deal of reincarnation, so who knows by this point how the story will unfold, since it's only the beginning after all.

What I like the most here is the fact that with only 3 episodes in, we're already able to create a plethora of theories.

This episode really gave hints for possible theories.

So if she breaks the contract someone she loves the most will die instead?
Myeolmang will take her doom and cast it upon another person.
But, what if it's him? What if the one she will grow to love by then, will be him?
Can Doom itself be doomed? Maybe... if he doesn't have his full deity status or powers...

"When you gain something, you must lose something."

I am curious to see their development, and fated relationship.
I mean it's not everyday that one can walk hand in hand with doom.
Much less invite him to move in just like that, ohhh this is going to be hella fun.
This drama keeps on getting better and it's only the start, I can't wait for next week's episodes.

Park BoYoung and Seo InGuk, these two in a drama is a blessing. I guess we're all into this crazy countdown with her now... Am quite intrigued by how their unusual contract will build up throughout the series. Myeol Mang sure is an interesting character xD multi talented too by this 1st episode.

What a well-written post. Really appreciate your balanced insights, and your alternative ending. It would have…
Thank you. I really wished they had made an additional short scene like this. It would be more memorable, at least in my imagination I picture it like so. Seems fitting for the characters and at least that way HS is not easily forgotten.

I know this has been really debated, but just like they did a MinSeong special cameo that wasn't even planned to happen in the first place, it would have been nice of them to do something regarding HanSeo. But since they skipped many plotlines throughout the series, it's not surprising they didn't.
Maybe it's up to us, the fans of the show to do so, and try to imagine outside of the box of what these loose plotlines could have been, had they been properly explored. Like the main character's past, or even the Italian Mafia that we've only got a link through Luca and well a few mentions of names at the end as well.

As for HanSeo, in this final episode...

I like to imagine that he had quite a small funeral, perhaps away from any tabloids or any unwanted attention. And that after that year that passed, when Vincenzo finally comes back for a little while, the very first place he visits is where his little brother is now resting... with a picture of him smiling.
Only to leave his trademark behind, - a golden lighter - as a token of their unfinished promise and for the sacrifice that he will always hold in his mind and heart.
For the atonement the younger faced in his last decision to turn that gun around to him and not into the air, and to take that final bullet of redemption.

For his sins, for his freedom.
To save lives at the risk of his own.
Because HanSeo did not die in vain, only to be forgotten. He died, protecting his Vinnie hyung.

you're welcome, the comment session would suffer had I made it in there xD I needed to vent after following that disaster.

finished already and did a rant review too xD I also recommend only the highlight of Todoroki and Kanae's development of characters and ship in the plot, because the rest of the storyline is all pointless.

I wasn't surprised by his death, but I was rooting for a better ending. He was a crucial character one can't deny,…
Couldn't have said it better myself. Indeed he was always trying to find his way out of everything bad he did about to flee the country plenty of times, HanSeo was always the scapegoat for his older brother crimes. I too found it interesting how his character got more crucial and led to the ending as a vital source and per se ally with Vincenzo, in finally catching his older brother and his subordinates. HanSeo proved his intelligence in that final scene, of him admitting to Vincenzo, a plot he figured out by himself, with the trackers. So, less of a headache in pursuing that weasel in the end xD

I wasn't surprised by his death, but I was rooting for a better ending. He was a crucial character one can't deny,…
his brother was already a criminal but everything was baffled by their father at the time, so he really wasn't accountable back then as he should have been. I meant indifferent because no one mentioned him, not even a funeral or anything was said, he died there, she shed a lonely tear, Vincenzo didn't move to help him before, it was like a sentence. Could have been more impactful if it wasn't for ChaYoung being there, her taking a bullet unnecessary if Vincenzo would have helped disarm HanSeok and even if by then in the fight HanSeo would get shot like it was bound to happen maybe he would do exactly as he did to save Vin hyung. It was a choice in plot, with a purpose too, but I guess it was the way it was handled that seemed bittersweet and off in a certain way.
