It was The Eclipse, another show with First and Khaotung.
If you like FirstKhao, then I recommend watching it :) GMMtv is known to insert a few cameos of their previous series here and there within their projects. It's a fun detail to those of us who recognize it, and always a new find for those who haven't seen them yet.
With the partially heavy content of this series, they should've done at least 8 episodes instead of 6 to balance this plot out. Overall it was a good series to follow, I love the cinematography on this one and the bold colors really pop-up. The comedy was Chef's Kiss. The satire of those dating reality shows, with a mix of hunger games and squid games, where the prizes are men and matrimony. When seeing this series, we may remember a few dozen other shows with the same themes or similar aspects and yet this is still interesting and for the most part enjoyable to follow through.
Not sure if it's intended or not or maybe I am reading too much in context, but the character Bovy seemed to be much more than she showed. She wasn't only the "dumb" friend with a silly crush on Max... She sometimes acted like the real "mastermind" that helped move the game pieces to the cause that would change everything. I mean was it really a coincidence that - she - of all people knew about the radio station of Chun and enjoyed listening? To the point of suggesting it to Paper. Then convincing him to follow his heart, knowing there was a "wall" dividing both of them from the Farm to the Outside. She did the same with Chanel as she wanted for the other to have a saying in her own heart and life decisions. Her last words to Paper as if she knew he had been expecting that to happen, wishing him good luck and parting ways. Maybe I really am reading too much into it. Ngl if she showed up in a second season as an ally or spy for the cause would be entertaining to see. π
The ending was so rushed and the time-skip pointless in the very last minutes for that cliffhanger alone. I for one would have done the time-skip in the sequel and an open ending with premise in this one without the time skip but alluding that there would be one. Some characters merely vanished after the rebellion at the last game and that was about it, they aren't ever mentioned. Max for instance. So if they ever do a second season I hope they fix the loose ends that this abrupt finale left.
The plot here was lacking & dragging. To much time wasted on dad and the money/scam situation, and not on Fy and his controlling mom. Dy deserved better than to deal with her like this in the end.... just sayin' it felt rushed. 3 scenes in total, one she acts like she can't handle her son revealing the truth and choosing his partner with his heart, the other she admitting to be wrong and the final where she is still talking rudely to Dy. Why should he be the silent obedient one now that Fy found his voice? Makes no sense to me, again not enough time on their storyline so it was what it was. π The best was the bickering of Samsee and Metha. They were the comical relief of the past episodes.
I've seen this one because it was light and cute. As much as I like Off and Gun in comedy content, they excel in series like Not Me. I miss having them in more serious & more challenging roles.
GMMTV continues on betting on the typical college dramas. When they should see the true potential of their actors lineup & upgrade in terms of investment for quality scripts & productions and aim for bigger goals. They can still have cute concepts and also try other genders that appeal to a bigger general audience. Smaller companies are doing that, so what's preventing them from doing the same? Why limit their actors to this type of series with poorly written scripts. Why keeping it safe by going back to school or doing remake after remake, when they could pitch for original content. Is it the risk that's stopping them? They are not moving forward like this, but backwards.
guys I have a doubt. well I can go and watch the last ep again and clear it but just In case Iβll ask here as…
I assume he paid for Yi Chan's medical expenses and tuitions and sent them both abroad for their studies in the US, as for not telling her it was probably meant to be a surprise, but they left it in the plot as a sort of plan to mess them up and leave all of us at the edge of our seats to what could happen to the future events. He also made sure that that despicable woman and her kids paid for their wrongdoings without any help whatsoever from him and his law team. Chung Ah's father was mostly grateful to Eun Gyeol and Yi Chan because they cared for his daughter and helped her when she needed the most. Eun Gyeol promised him he would see her true smile and he did after all, meanwhile Yi Chan provided him with the opportunity to be able to communicate with Chung Ah thanks to that guide book of sign language. We sure needed more insight scenes of Yi Chan and Chung Ah, even if they were glimpses though. π₯² We never got to see her knowing about the accident or supporting him while he was in the hospital adjusting to his condition. But as her last faz message stated he supported her and helped her, and she would do the same, always by his side. We already knew their future, the setting may have changed but their love for each other didn't.
LOVE it β£οΈ This drama went above and beyond my expectations. I was hoping to see a couple more scenes of young Yi Chan and Chung Ah, mainly after the accident, her knowing what happened and be there for him and help him, even if it was a mere glimpse of scenes it would make it even better than only the time skip to the present and see all the changes, although it worked out for the best. Eun Gyeol's acts of kindness, towards his parents, managed to create an endless ripple in the order of events and the aftermath too. What a journey this was. The moral of the past can't be altered but slightly adjusted, was good. The connection through the characters and story, was well written. Both Yi Chan and Eun Gyeol managed to have a sparkling youth and β¨πViva la Vida !πβ¨ Ironic that a trip to the past managed to teach Eun Gyeol that and many other moral and important life lessons. Not only did he learned more about his parents dreams, fears and aspirations, but he also realized the struggles they went through their youth and broken homes to get where they were. And yet despite all that they still created a perfect family, in both present timelines that was a factor that fortunately never changed. Lovely pair, and great parents. I can't get enough of them π
Iβm just curious why doesnβt yichan speak .. I mean heβs now deaf but he could speak
I would recommend you to check out the J-drama called Silent to find the right answers for that specific question. But in a quick response here, it's mostly because not being able to listen to it's own voice makes a person self-conscious of it's surroundings as well, it does not help society's views on a disability either. In Yi Chan's case it was sudden by an accident, he wasn't born with it, so all of a sudden to become a hearing impaired person is a matter of adjustment. At the end of the day it becomes his choice not to speak and to communicate solely by sign language, just as people choose the language that they can express themselves better. I hope this helps understanding his choice as he overcame his situation.
Got myself ready for all the emotional damage this will bring in the past 11 months, knowing it's worth it. P'Aof and JimmySea don't disappoint. The script, the acting, the cinematography, everything is spot on. I swear Jimmy and Sea always have symbolic content in their projects. That interview moment, the iconic book with the quotes matching their current situations and personalities, was beautiful. The limited time for both Day and Mok is the same, 180 days. One for his vision, the other for the last memory of his sister. We waited 11 months for this very day, and now we have to wait one episode per week until the end π₯² yup emotional damage indeed.
Those bushy eyebrows have a fandom of their own π€£ππ€£

I thought it would end with it but they are dragging this 'till the end huh.
