Here's my rant why I think the producer's did Naksu's character no justice and what I wish they'd done differently.
I'll try to put it as simply as possible.
I really think the viewers wouldn't be so confused and upset about actress Jung So Min not playing the main female lead in the next season if the producers did one simple thing.
So, let's state the fact: throughout the majority of the drama we have Naksu's soul occupying Mudeok's body. With that in mind, I believe the should've kept actress Go Yoon Jung's--who is the original "face" of Naksu---voice when there are scenes of Naksu's thoughts being said out loud to the viewers. Instead, Naksu's thoughts are said by actress Jung So Min. Thus I think many viewers forget that the main female lead of this drama is Naksu, although she's not in her original body (played by actress Go Yoon Jung).
I wish it'd been done just like it was done in "Mr Queen": at the beginning of the series when Jang Bong Hwan (played by actor Choi Jin Hyuk) is in the queen's body (played by actress Shin Hye Sun) the thoughts the viewers hear are said by actor Choi Jin Hyuk. And I think it's logical, because those are the thoughts of Jang Bong Hwan's soul, not the queen's soul. Thanks to that, the viewers remember that there's another soul occupying the queen's body. Yes, later on the thoughts are said by actress Shin Hye Sun, but it's explained why there's a sudden change of the voice of Jang Bong Hwan's soul.
Now, I wish the producers of AoS had done the same thing, because I strongly believe the majority of viewers have forgotten that the character named Mudeok is NOT the main character of this drama - it's the character/soul named Naksu, although she's using Mudeok's body throughout the story and she's only PRETENDING to be Mudeok. In my opinion, having Naksu's thoughts being said by actress Go Yoon Jung and not actress Jung So Min would be a helpful reminder to the viewers who the real female lead is. And I think it'd made easier for the viewers to accept the fact that in season 2 the female lead is most likely going to be portrayed by Naksu's original face, actress Goo Yoon Jung, and not actress Jung So Min.
Now I only wonder how they're going to bring back a burned body back to its physical form so that actress Go Yoon Jung can become Naksu's face again.
EDIT: Well, if Go Yoon Jung really voices all Naksu's thoughts while she's in Mudeok's body, then my argument is invalid. But I could've sworn I kept hearing Jung So Min's voice, not Go Yoon Jung's, that's why I was upset.
Basically families in Asian countries really care about what other people will think . This concept of not marrying…
That's why I understand it's a cultural difference, but still it's something that I don't find logical. Also, it'd be more understandable if S. Korea was a highly religious country--let's say Christian for example--because then living together before marriage would be considered a sin and I could understand why getting married is so important. But S. Korea is not a country where the majority of people are Christian, so I don't know why it's not acceptable for a couple to live together without getting married.
I know it's a cultural difference, but I just can't help but roll my eyes how Mirae and Hyunjae are pushing for the marriage as if it's the only thing that can prove their true love for each other.
Each time it's said they can't get legally married I'm like, "So fucking what? It's not like your love isn't real if you don't get married. Just be together without getting married, what's the fucking problem?"
Mirae's parents and Hyunjae's parents are portrayed as "progressive" (contrary to many other dramas the parents here are more open-minded) as they're willing to accept their children's partner even if they aren't fond of them. But it won't even cross their minds that a couple can stay together without getting married. Yeah I know, yet again a cultural difference, but it's not like I have to agree with it. Just like one don't have to agree with me not having a problem with a couple living together without marriage.
But I think the biggest problem I've had so far with the characters in this drama is that the Lee family was so sure that the grandfather's long lost daughter would be equally happy to have found her biological father and that she would immediately want to meet his family. Like, give me a break now. Most selfish thing I've seen in this drama. Even more selfish than Soojae fooling his family into thinking he'd marry Yuna.
Personally, I'm perfectly aware that FL is Naksu since episode 1. However, I share concerns that if she'll return…
I'm attached to JSM as Naksu/Mudeok too, not to mention that she's one of my favourite Korean actresses. But I'd rather have a logical well-written story, even if that means that JSM has to leave as the main actress. Also, is it even possible for Naksu to return to her original body?
Problem is right now its difficult to separate Naksu from Mu Deok body. So they're the same right now. Lol
Not really the same, no. The real Mudeok is supposed to be well-natured and naive, which is a total opposite of Naksu. They're not the same in my opinion. I still stand by my previous statement that as for now we've only seen Naksu's soul making use of Mudeok's body. All thoughts and feelings are Naksu's, not Mudeok's.
I think some of y'all have to understand that the female lead is Naksu, not Mudeok (at least at this point of the story). Naksu is only using Mudeok's body; the soul inside of that body is Naksu's. It's similar to the movie and drama "The Beauty Inside" - one main character (in this case Naksu) but could be played by multiple actresses (Jung So Min and Go Yoon Jung). So although I love Jung So Min's performance, I think it's logical that a different actress could play as Naksu in the future.
With that being said, I think that starting next week Uk and Naksu finally begin to remember that her being Mudeok is only a cover up that prevents others from finding out that she's actually Naksu but in Mudeok's body, and that it's difficult for them to be together, if not impossible.
Y'all, I can't believe how much Park Eun Bin can change her voice, it's so different from her voice in her previous dramas. Not to mention that her acting is so on point in this one.
Damn, I seriously feel no chemistry between the leads, and their love story seems forced. There's no development in their relationship. It's like things keep happening solely because it's a romcom and things have to happen bewteen the leads because of the drama's genre.
Fml, just when I started to somehow accept Babi, Woong had to come back to remind me that Yumi and him have better chemistry even when only looking at each other than when Yumi and Babi are kissing. lmfao
I'll try to put it as simply as possible.
