That's an exception (most of the time even they don'tknow what they are doing tbh)but then again kdramas and jdramas are much more dark and intense I feel... again a personal opinion

If you don't like FirstKhaotung or JoongDunk, you'll get attached to this story their characters.... If you love the actors then it's a cherry on top.
It's obviously not dark.... Thai Dramas are not dark in general so it's okay....
