Can they cast Chen Kun as Qingming and Deng Lun as Boya? That would be awesome tbh. Ever since I saw Deng Lun as Boya, I feel like I don't have any other options. His acting is so freaking good too.
I have a question. This is the first time I saw Deng Lun in anything and I'd like to see more, but Ashes of Love…
His acting in Mr. Fighting is definitely good and better than Ashes of Love (maybe due to the plot of the drama). His acting with Sandra Ma are so natural. But some people may find Mr. Fighting boring but if you're a fan of slice of life, go for it. Personally, I kind of like the drama because I can see the struggle of the male lead to be an actor in China through this drama. Basically it's about the growth and overcoming difficulties. Totally something I rarely find in other cdramas where usually its about romance. The drama won award in Seoul International Drama Award too.
They should've released it years ago, their fault and they deserve the lost time and money.
It's a common thing for Chinese production tho since they have longer prerelease production, they also need to meet certain criteria or regulations from the Chinese government before they can release the drama. Even in normal Chinese drama where all of the casts are Chinese, usually people will get to see the drama, earliest next year after the drama's recording ended. That if we're lucky. But in some cases, usually for costume drama, it will take longer. 2 or 3 years. In conclusion, Chinese entertainment is complex.
Loved him so much in ashes of love. Phoenix is probably one of my fave fictional characters now
Honestly he sets the standard for Phoenix so high. Whenever I see a xianxia drama and there's a phoenix character I can't help but to compare them with him. Now, I've never seen any phoenix character that's better than him.
Deng Lun and Yang Mi, the coward couple really make this show fun to watch especially Deng Lun. I think he is the hightlight of this show. I laughed a lot due to his cowardice 🤣 they were supposed to protect Yang Mi since she's the only woman but somehow most of the time, they're protecting him more than Yang Mi. Great Escape is the first variety show of Deng Lun that I watched and my views of him totally shattered. All I can remember is his screaming now lol 😂😂
I'm a big fan of Tiffany and I'm really curious about her performance on the drama. She's been in musicals for…
Her character is going to be Korean-American in this drama, that's the reason why they recommend her. I really want to see her acting for this since I enjoyed watching her in SNL korea few years ago. She nailed the part of American girlfriend, so I'm really looking forward to this.
I just found out that the drama is based on Korean weekend drama Jang Bori is Here 😆 but honestly the female villain in this drama can't beat Yeon Minjung (the villain in Jang Bori is here). She's not that crazily annoying compared to Yeon Minjung 😂 FYI: the actress who played Yeon Minjung in Jang Bori is here, Lee Yoori won a daesang for her role in this drama. Yes, as a villain role 😂
I've watched this drama and mainly because of Denglun in it. I'm pretty sure this drama is not a cup of tea for some people. It's because this drama is just another typical weekend type of drama (if you have seen a lot of Korean weekend drama, then you'll know what I meant 😉 in Korea for example, usually this type of drama, mostly only old people love to watch, even for the drama Jang Bori is here, most of the audience came from this certain age group of people). This is not the best drama, but I totally enjoyed watching it anyway.
I really like the plot but somehow I feel quite disappointed with the acting especially from the male lead. He's too stiff especially during emotional scene. He needs to practice more on his face expression. On the other hand, I'm really admired with the second male lead's acting. His crying scene is more natural.
P/s: why Faye Wang always getting one-sided love role lol. I saw her acting first in Ashes of Love as Princess Suihe.
I feel like the drama could've been better but I still enjoy watching this since this is the first time Xukai and Wu Jiayi pairing together right(?) I really love their chemistry in Arsenal Military Academy more than Xukai with the female lead in the drama. That's why I'm enjoying Dance of the Sky Empire. I really hope to see Xukai and Wu Jiayi in another project tbh and I hope Wu Jiayi can play a tougher role like Qu Manting (she definitely nailed that). Their relationship irl seems good too since I saw her commenting on Xukai's Ancient Love Poetry related post few days ago 😆
P/s: I know some people might dissatisfied with Wu Jiayi's acting/character here but honestly she's a good actress. I just think that her character in this drama is slightly off. I really like her acting in Arsenal Military Academy, her character is slightly crazy (but in a good way) there 😂
Also, toward the end, they did a flashback of her initial time with Shanggu. I was glad they did, because I forgot…
Honestly, I had a bad impression of her since the first scene she was in. She wanted to be with Shanggu bc Shanggu is the chief god, by staying with SG, her status also increases. Her character is manipulative and full of insecurity since the beginning, thus this make her become more evil and craving for more power (since she was born as 5th grade phoenix, with weak spiritual energy). In the 1st arc, we can see her insecurity very clearly. In the 2nd arc, when she became one of 4 gods, her status totally climb out to the roof. Everyone starts to 'worship' her, she becomes an empress. So she hide her 'insecurity' very well but every reaches to the bottom when Houchi slowly showing sign of Shanggu and Qingmu also there. That's when she wants more power and slowly becomes a devil.
Actually there's a translated version with Eng but only for chapter 1 for now. You can find on Deng Lun International Fans Facebook.
