I’ve watched up to Episode 15 & also seen the trailers up to Episode 19. Even by Ep19 , He Yan still appears…
He Yan is not that cunning. She is intelligent, yes. But she will never use means like betrayal because she hated it. She is really really kind.

In the novel, He Yan wasn't present in battle of mingshan, and she isn't close with Xiao Jue's father to avenge him.

Her main goal is to seek revenge to He Rufei and her husband. Xi jingfu was out of the picture.

Based on the novel (from what I vaguely remember), He Yan already knows that Chu Zhao is connected to Xu Jingfu, since it’s common knowledge that Chu Zhao is Xu Jingfu’s disciple. Her friendliness toward Chu Zhao stems from the fact that he has never wronged her or Xiao Jue.

Her main reason for seeking revenge is He Rufei. Xu Jingfu is Xiao Jue’s enemy, not hers. That said, she still doesn’t know the full extent of the connection between He Rufei and Xu Jingfu. Aside from He Rufei trying to curry favor with Xu Jingfu and win his approval, that’s the only link she is aware of.

It’s only later, once she obtains evidence, that she learns about He Rufei’s association with the Wutuo people.

Does the ML know that she is He Ru Fei? If not when will he know? Spoilers are fine!!!

what happens to ying xiang? because I saw someone saying that they hate chu zhao for what he did to her. I don't…
in the novel, chu zhao somehow gave her to the crown prince to secure his position. though when I read that part I already know he regrets it so much (which he did btw)

spoiler alert: she was abused by the prince and she begs chu zhao to kill her

idk how they will play this part in the drama though

based on the trailers I've watched, I saw three kisses(?) The rooftop, the backyard with red trees, and there's a close-up one that I can't pinpoint where. Hehe I love it 🥰 I don't remember them having these much kiss scenes in the novel so I'm excitedd

he yan is strong strong in the novel. at first she was weak because of the body she had on the present lifetime…
you're welcome! there are changes from the drama and the novel, yes, but I think the essence of the novel is still on the drama. It's still your decision though. 🫶

Script readers in XHS already confirmed that she’s going to regain her former title as general feihong. But…
ahhh pls just a happy ending 😭

I think based on the storyline so far (with the changes and such), I think they will make He Yan reclaim her title as General Feihong, unlike what happened in the novel—WHICH I ABSOLUTELY WILL LOVE TO SEE. I mean that's He Yan's hardwork 🥹

I think they will go into this route in the ending since they don't have the reincarnation plot. hopefully...

As someone who has read the novel and waited months for this drama’s release, I can confidently say—I LOVE IT! I honestly can’t even put into words how much I enjoyed it. 😭 I even cried while watching. Sure, they changed a lot of things—like removing the reincarnation plot, making Cheng Lisu the doctor, and tweaking several storylines from the novel—but not everything was altered. And honestly? I love that. This drama has its own unique flavor. It’s an adaptation, not a copy-paste, and that’s what makes it refreshing.

Maybe my perspective is different because I’ve read the novel. I actually liked the first episode, but I can see how people who haven’t read the source material might be like, “WTF is going on?” There’s a lot of information crammed into it, and the editing felt kind of messy. But for me, that worked. I liked that they threw the main mystery at us right away because now we already know what to expect moving forward.

And let’s talk about Zhou Ye. So handsome. Her acting is solid, and her portrayal of a man is way more convincing than a lot of others I’ve seen attempt the same thing. Her chemistry with Ryan Cheng? Off the charts. 😭 I seriously cannot wait for the slow-burn romance to kick in because THAT is my absolute favorite part of the story.

I just hope they will keep that emotional build-up intact—the small moments, the unspoken tension, the way they start to trust each other bit by bit. If they pull that off, this drama could easily become one of my top favorites. And honestly, even with all the changes, I’m just glad it still captures the heart of why I loved the novel in the first place.

I had a feeling that I was one of the very few who was hooked from the first scene, and ig I was right 😔4 episodes…
i think most of them read the novel and quite disappointed for some scenes that had happened? idk but I genuinely love it. I am waiting for this drama to drop for so long and I love every part of it.

is she strong as the story seems or as they are portraying her?
he yan is strong strong in the novel. at first she was weak because of the body she had on the present lifetime was weak but as the story goes, she gradually took back her strength. But since they scrapped the reincarnation plot, the reason why He yan was weak at first eps was then explained as the effects of being poisoned, blinded and her hardships. So, all in all, she's a strong character, both physical and mental state.

SYS is kind of like the chosen one. I wonder if there's also something abt RR. To be able to seal that goofy looking…
I'm having thoughts that she could be a reincarnation of du tian's daughter? He have two daughters right? It's just a wild guess.
