This is the first time I've read the book version first before watching the drama because the plot is soooo good and so was the trailer. I love the FL in the book and here and SHE'S SOOOO GORGEOUSSS! To everyone having second thoughts about this drama, let me tell you, you certainly won't be disappointed.
The main characters are so good! I don’t know about the novel but the actors did great in portraying their respective characters. And I just love the ML and FL as a couple and individual. The only downside of this drama is the script, the plot, just the whole freaking story. The main story was great, the main plot (enemies to lovers) but what did the writers do? They add so many sideplots that have so many plotholes. For me, the story ended after the plot with the crown prince. I think that’s the peak of this drama, the rest is all 👎
Here’s my take about the adaptation: It’s actually really great to watch if you haven’t watched the original. The original have 40 episodes and this one only has 16 so it’s understandable that it will feel like the scenes are jampacked or rushed. That’s the only thing I’m having a hard time to adjust since it feels like there’s no breather at all but all in all, I highly recommend this drama.
Episode 25 trailer made me angry, I thought the princess doesn't like Pan Yue?!! I think I'll just wait for the next episodes to find out, watching ep 25 might make my blood boil for a long time before they drop the next episodes. Waiting is good for my peace of mind. 🧘♂️
Episode 20 made me realize some things about humanity. This drama proves that you can make a romance/investigatory drama while still giving your viewers moral lessons. Btw, I was screaming when PY always think that YCW doesn't love him. LIKE WTF MAN?! C'MON! JUST KISS HER ALREADY THEN YOU'LL KNOW! 😭 but then the last scene when he said he won't give up on her melted me. This drama is a literal chef kiss 🤌🤌.
BTW ZLJ and BXS scenes 🤩🤩 they really looks soooo cute! Give these two a happy ending!!! And also, when the guard of PY was fighting with those men, I was damn scared that he'll die because of him having longing eyes with YCW's maid. I was like, "THAT'S A FRICKING FORESHADOWING!!" but then thank goodness he didn't die. 🥰
Episode 18 might be my favorite episode so far in terms of fluffy romance. The amount of YCW and PY cute scenes?! And OMG 😭 finally 😭 the start of blossoming romance of ZLJ and BXS, hopefully they'll get their happy ending 🥺.
Episode 15 still tops the best investigative episode! 🤌

Why do I feel like that lady (one of the leaders of the 4 gangs of Heyang) knows something about the ripple organization? And it looks like she also have some grievances to that org! Maybe I'm just overthinking but I definitely feels like she could be an ally in ours leads. Also, I think she's watching how the things will end up for now, but soon, we'll see her in action helping our leads.
