YESSS TO THE MUSIC!! 🙌 That's another thing I completely forgot to mention. Even tho the show is adapted from the chinese novel, I was still expecting it to have an original soundtrack and background score that would complement the characters, elevate the emotional weight of the scenes, and really pull us into the story. I think that's one of the reasons I'm struggling to feel that emotional connection so far

Tu has that main female lead energy, and it's no surprise that she's been getting back-to-back roles as the lead actress in dramas featuring a predominantly male cast
We're only two eps in, and she's already doing such a great job! I also want to give credit to Milk, Aye, Ciize, Tay and Nanon, who have delivered some really good performances so far. The rest of the cast still have room to step up, but I'm sure they'll find their footing as the story progresses.
My only real complaint is the show's budget and overall production quality. They took two years to plan and film this, yet the end product still feels rather lacklustre. There's nothing particularly striking or memorable about the set designs or scenery. Everything feels so simple and plain, when I was hoping for something much more visually captivating. And honestly, I feel this has been a recurring issue with Gmmtv's period dramas in general. The cinematography often falls short of what the genre demands.
Knowing that Gmmtv is capable of producing drama remakes that can stand on par with, or even surpass their original counterparts, I genuinely expected more from the production team this time. The performances are promising, but the overall visual presentation could have been so much better.
Haha maybe not SkyNani they have a long way to go. But gosh OhmPoon's was so sudden... Especially when they had all the hype during gmmtv outing last year

I agree with you. She had amazing roles in Friendzone, Who Are You, A Gift to the People you Hate, Last Twilight, The Player, Midnight Museum, Good Old Days.. she was and still is one of the acting powerhouse of gmmtv.... I'm not complaining she has ventured into GLs, but I miss the type of variety she brought with her characters and the shows she acted in prior to this. No doubt, she acted tremendously well in Pluto, too!
Honestly, I'm not surprised all her next main role projects are GLs... Gmmtv wouldn't miss the chance to catch on to the popularity of NTF.
