There's no need to say goodbye to the wonderful DS and the aura of The Double. I've been coming here for 6 months…
Thank you for your really nice reply. I will check Blossom. I think it's in my list already. I watched a video on tt and they recommended some cdramas. That's how I got to watch the Double in the first place. Thank you for the link, I will definitely read it!
And now what am I going to do with my life? I binge watched it and I am not ready to say goodbye to Duke Su. This drama had everything done right, actually perfect. There were no boring episodes, the story was well written and the main leads chemistry was amazing. 10/10 for me.
The biggest challenge will be to find an equally great drama to watch.
This drama started off strong but both the week with no episodes and the mid episodes after it slowed it down a little. It always had that wattpad vibe about it but in a nice way. And then we have the new with the last episode which overdid it and ruined it. It was so stupid to have him go there and the reason why he did it was even more stupid .It showed that PSY/PYY didn't learn anything from the whole ordeal. And the way they 'made up' in the mid of the jungle with the armed men around them. It was so cringy. Not to mention the mess with the names. I have seen before slightly changes names of real places to be used in webtoons/ mangas but why was that even necessary is beyond me. I thought that by now Kwriters would have learned to be more sensitive with important matters.
This was the type of Cdrama that has very little plot and it's mostly sweet moments between the leads. Although this is not my thing, it was easy to watch but I had to skip a lot. Maybe fewer episodes would have been better. The chemistry between the leads was really good, I have to say
110% agree on Ju Ji Hoom , he has always been an amazing actor!! I had full faith that he would be great in a…
Goong was my first kdrama ever so watching him in a romcon brings back memories. I think after this one I will watch his other dramas and movies I haven't wanted m watched yet. He is truly phenomenal.
Yes, I think a different FL would have been better. Someone with better range of emotions in acting.
I really love this drama. I knew JJH was a good actor but here he was a revelation. He carries the whole show on his shoulders. I am afraid JYM was the wrong choice for the FL. I think she kinda ruins the chemistry between them.
It had been so long since I watched the Chinese version so I didn't remember many details and started this drama with an open mind and I was pleasantly surprised.
It have the same warm feeling the original did and I really enjoyed watching.
It's funny that Hae Jun looked so much younger than the others in their adult timeline. He was so cute, it was insane!
Despite loving this, I felt that the chemistry of the original group of children was better. In this one, it was like San Ha didn't care much about HJ at times. At least it felt like that.
I loved what they did with the Dal storyline/ ship.
I agree and caricatures explains them perfectly. I thought this was a horribly written drama. Way over the top…
My issue is with the ML is not only the character but the actor himself. I think that he didn't have what it takes to show the character's strengths and nuances, even though it was a badly written one.
Unpopular opinion, judging by the comment section here, but I think this was a bad drama. From the very toxic relationship between the leads to the absurdity of the whole story. I couldn't empathize with the ML because he was a moving red flag. I understand his trauma but his behaviour was appalling. Neither could I sympathise with any other character, to be honest, because they felt like caricatures rather than fully fledged characters. I think this could have been a movie because at times it felt repetitive and there were a lot of unnecessary scenes to fill the episode that fell flat rather than be funny. 4/10 for me.
I expected way more from this drama. I will still watch the second season to see where it will go but it was disappointing. The worst part was that it was unnecessarily complicated with the back and forth in the timeline. Most of the times it is not relevant to the past. The past story is way more interesting than the 1989 one. It's probably because I think the actor choice got Solomon was wrong and I felt zero interest for his story and his acting didn't move me. Sadly, I felt no connection between Sunja in the past and Sunja in 1989. The senior actress was miscast as well. She feels like a whole different character. The past storyline was more interesting but still there was something off. I felt no connection to Lee Min Ho's character as well and I even disliked him.
This drama is like a well presented dish that is bland. It will feed you but won't hit the right places. Despite the fact that it got the initial awkwardness for the most part, it still had some that made it boring. The episodes were unnecessarily long for this story and it was full of filler pointless scenes. The second couple was cringe and had zero chemistry, in my opinion, I skipped most of their scenes. JHI was the reason I watched it and curiousity to see how it will turn. 6/10
Too loud background music, too many flashbacks that made it a little bit weird. Also the sequence of scenes was not smooth. Still an in interesting drama.
I think this drama would be less awkward if the episodes weren't that long. 1h 17 min is too long for a drama with little plot and the dialogues are often longer than necessary.
Childhood friends lovers trope is one of the worst, the directing is weak and dull makes it look like a melodrama…
Exactly! It was an anticipated drama but it turned out to be a disappointment. If the chemistry between the leads was good, then it would be salvageable but I don't know now. Part of me wants to keep watching to see how they will fill 16 episodes.
Thank you for the link, I will definitely read it!

I don't know if it was intentional or not but at times CSB felt wooden or emotionless. Her eyes were blank.
They had amazing chemistry though so that made up for any weird acting.

I just felt that the last episode was a little anticlimactic and showed very little of the main couple for my liking.
Still, I highly recommended it.

I like it a lot

All in all, a great adaptation. I will miss it.

I love this drama. Shin Mina is the absolute highlight of this drama. She is a delight to watch.
