Bruh, I never thought I would catch up to a Cdrama while it was still airing... But let me tell you, one 45m ep/day is not enough for me.
Also, that bait at the end of today's ep, only for xie zheng to literally become a playwright instead of revealing his identity... It was *chefs kiss*, but also "wtf man" π
I'm only on episode 1 of part 2, and idk why, but this blind chick just gives off stalker vibes. My theory was maybe she was a classmate who had a crush on ML, so she got plastic surgery to look like FL, plus the tattoo/similar food tastes, etc.-- we never got confirmation on who sent the photo of them 'dating' on the roof, so I thought maybe that was her.... Plus, her being blind is not very convincing. Why the hell would a blind person's first question to a stranger on the street be "hey were you that guy from that one time?" after hearing him say 2 words.
But then... I slightly spoiled things by reading comments here, so I know that's not who she is.
Maybe I'm just being protective because ML is finally doing okay at the start of p2, and I just want to save him and give him love before he dates this blind girl and inevitably murders everyone. ππ
Only at ep5... But sometimes I get pulled out of the realism of a drama when pretty privilege isn't acknowledged. Like how is the dorky, pudgy kid part of the popular boy group, while the hottest guy in school is the outcast?? Does anyone else think this way?
I have never felt so blue balled by a BL. It had all the elements to be good, and then ended up being an incomplete…
Some of my specific gripes, beyond the obvious are: - who thought it was a good idea to make a 'naked' bet between adult educators and high school children?? Either way it ended would have been offensive and likely illegal?? And then to have these adult women teachers giggling over naked underage boys? I could not stop cringing at this plotline. - why does jiang tian hate his dad? Because the dad was actually gay/bi? For cheating on his mom? It seemed like the dad was abusive, until the reveal that the cigarette burn was an unfortunate accident. Even if the dad was negligent, it doesn't feel like enough to warrant everyone 'protecting' him from his dad. - the MLs relationship definitely would have progressed more if they didn't move into the dorms. Instead of a private home with absent/idgaf what you are doing after midnight parents, they now were living 24/7 with two other boys. Given jiang tian's loner personality too, it felt like a weird move.
If there ever is a season 2, I'll watch, but otherwise, this show was quite disappointing.
I am glad they cleared up why FL doesn't know ML in the second episode, but still left some mystery to his time in Boston. We still don't know why he seems beat up-- was it the bf after finding out ML was messaging FL, or are they self inflicted injuries? Also what was on the floor when he fell back from the window? Is engineering that depressing of a major? Lol. It's enough to keep me watching.
Using AI in it really pulled me out of the drama. I even started wondering if the script was written with AI too...…
Honestly, I didn't realize it was AI, but I certainly thought it was lazy-- if true, you would think they would have at least been able to make the character look more like FL rather than a copy-paste Anna/Elsa from frozen.
Now if the opening seq is also AI, that definitely makes sense-- it really is awful.

Apparently NOBODY died in part 1?!
Welp, guess I have to binge part 2 now...
Tbh, I'd be okay with everyone (kids, police officer, parents, etc.) being offed at this point. I don't blame Jen Yao at all for crashing out.
