I completely agree, sometimes the fluff series just get too repetitive. I just wanted to ask if you had any more…
TharnType isn't dark at all! It is sweet university BL with one guy never overcoming his internalized homophobia even after getting married to man. He was a very toxic to his partner even past established relationship and it was hard to watch.
I'm really mad at whoever recommended this as being a 'dark and toxic' BL. If you're looking for something similar…
I think people really don't know the meaning of toxic, because I am also here through the same rec. This is a story of tremendous social pressure and internalized homophobia. The musician brother is a dick, but I loved the music in this one. The meaning of songs really adds to the plot.
There is a special place in hell for mothers like this, who wish their sons to be miserable, but also look how realistically uneven her attitude to her sons is - she low key allowed one to have a boyfriend and forced another to leave his love and marry. But worst of all is the brother who have always been gay himself and acted on his feelings and found love to live happily ever after while helping his mother torture his brother by hiding letters, chasing his boyfriend away etc. To the last moment the brother is the worst character here through and through, because oh the bigotry and double standards of him!! Poor Lu Feng fought for both of them and lost. If rape was not in the picture I would say he is the only good character in this story. The ending is heartbreaking.
Good story but not best played. Probably they needed different actors to play main leads as children? I have hard time believing these dudes being in high school. Homophobia level is overwhelming here. Especially internalized homophobia. And I believe that people need more stories like this to be told, but like... there is no moral or conclusion. Love who you do and tell your parents to kindly Ff off.

honestly i agree that during the first five episodes that the main leads were not likeable, but i really do like…
Yes I understand what you mean, like Hannibal Lecter is not really likable, but that's a brilliant character and I love him for that. No brilliance in sight with this one , so I dropped.
Did not like it.Too many couples with no backstory, and romance was scarcely present, i wasn't interested in any…
I wonder why, because this is typical Asian dorama, I wouldn't even say Korean, because there's gazillion of the same in other countries. Romance is in serious topics (like wanting to commit suicide, or having a parent that forgets you, but you still show up, etc). Romance is never in romantic couple, zero skinship and kisses are clinical. If someone doesn't like it it's better to switch to Hollywood or European stuff. Altho Love Actually is exactly that with western actors lol.
Such a sweet feel good movie! And of course Lee Dong-wook is as cute as ever. I haven't realized he was so tall! The trope of a super rich handsome man with mental health issues falling in love with infantile woman-child is becoming really repetitive and annoying, but I still liked it. The history of a guy coming to the hotel to commit suicide is comedically bitter sweet in a best way.
Yeah, same. That seems to be happening more and more to me on mdl lately. Not sure what's going on with the ratings…
I want to see interesting and engaging stories. I definitely watched too many from all over the world so my personal bar is high. As for MDL ratings I noticed that there is a certain amount of fans who get to like an actor and become obsessed with them, so they would rate very high disregarding of how good or bad the series are. There are apparently whole armies of these fans and they get into fandom wars so they sometimes lower ratings of stuff they fight against. Or maybe people who hate series are just nnice and don't want to be toxic going around posting bad reviews? Or maybe people just have no taste for all I know 😁
Prequel to this (Bittersweet chocolate) ended with someone stealing the drugs and Gang of Cherry began with a fight over someone stealing them, which was never resolved, but I easily figured who did it - director, writer and the whole production team! Actors were good, well considering the shi... they took part in. This makes absolutely zero sense and I can't believe poor queer people gathering for festivals all over Asia (probably at some risk too) and having to sit 2 hours through this. Many say it's disturbing but to me it's boring and senseless most of all. I read through a lot of comments here and I realized no one really understands what is happening. If there are any metaphors, they are harder to fathom than Antique poetry in Latin. If you are here to watch it for Gun like me, don't bother or at least hit x2.
ONE OF THE WORST MOVIES I’VE EVER SEEN (WHAT WAS THAT??)Gun is miscast here. His acting is so awkward that it’s…
Hands off Russian dub lol 😁 Guys are doing this for free, it's a fan dub, and they are the best voices, they allow so many series available to the Russian speaking audience. You must know even mentioning anything queer is illegal in that part of the world, so they are also doing it with a certain risk to their freedom. Stay safe! And yes the movie is terrible 🤣
