When men are idiots, other people suffer

This is a short and powerful film that made me want to google stuff... but in short it is about a girl who dropped her lipstick in the wrong place... And about her struggles to come to peace with herself living in a world where dropping ones lipstick while in a body that is perceived by others as male is one of the most scary things one can do.

Her struggles with her inner-self can come off as a bit confusing, and has several points that are left for the audience to interpret as one could wonder if she has a person beside her or multiple personalities. However as I understand this it is supposed to be a portrayal of her inner struggles with her true self, so you may want to bear that in mind when you watch it.

This short film can be perceived as a bit slow, but if you pay attention to the music and details you will notice that you need every second of it for the full affect to kick in. And is certainly worth those 12 minutes it takes to watch it... and the other minutes it takes to google stuff too.

Light and fluffy classic rom com

This movie is one of those movies you watch just because you can not decide on what to watch next, a classic in between dramas cleanser as it does not have a lot of substance to offer but does offer fluff, at times bad comedy and few decent messages hidden in-between the meeh ones.

Crazy: I do not really get the "crazy" part of the drama, Jackie is not crazy, she is rather hurt, and in need of just about anyone to help her look beyond herself. So self centred yes, crazy nope... Or maybe it is the people around Kyko that are crazy as they seem to take advantage of this overly kind soul without a single thought about how he might feel.

Beautiful - Well there is a lot of beauty here, scenery, looks, gazes, relationships... all very beautiful indeed

You- Well there are both mes, I, is and yous so I guess this part makes sense.

There is one part in this movie that they portray really well, which is how people with privilege take their privilege for granted and act like they are all superior for giving bread crumbs to those in need while attaching a whole bunch of untold strings and well lets face it giving while taking advantage of the less fortunate... It also shows how hard it is for the person in disadvantage to rise up and stand up for them selfs, which could have given this movie a bunch of extra points had it not been for the rest of it which over simplifies things and has some low humour.... etc.

An ok watch, not a movie I recommend to all but not one I discourage others to watch either. as it did indeed keep my interest and though it made me cringe here and there it did keep me entertained.

The story of the happy idiot and the handsome Icicle

Idiot, Idiot, idiot... the female leads nickname and most probably the most translated word in this whole drama... I wonder how much idiocy there actually is in this drama?

The male lead is an everlasting icicle, who reminded me of the guy in Playful kiss, just without an ounce of playfulness. An everlasting icicle that is true to his core and well kind of cruel most of the time. He is however fun to watch and does stand for some pretty good eye candy...

The female lead is as cheerful as cheerful gets, annoying at times but mostly lovable even if her obsession does become a bit overbearing at times.

The rest of the cast are pretty decent, including a very lovable second male lead.

The messages, medical stuff and talks about treatment and transplants where decent at times, a bit meeh and odd other times. They also mentioned HCM, which made me kind of happy.

A decent watch, not really relationship goals but entertaining enough for the moment.

Buingablety- high
Heartflitter- medium

A not so beautiful world....

What are my thoughts about this drama... hmm.... honestly I am conflicted with myself as the story was pretty good, most of the acting was on spot and the drama did keep me on my toes wanting to see what would happen next. At times making it a clear candidate for a 9, 9,5 but at some point the twists became just a little bit too predictable. The mother a.k. main leads acting and dialog became cringe and annoying, and they kept giving the suspects a heads up so they could collude and destroy evidence to the point of just too much...

The main family here is just a little bit to good, you know the type to be to kind, to perfect, to loving.. Though they do try to seem human they still end up a bit too much... However the friendship and the found family bits here are really good,. Again making me conflicted within myself since on the one hand I loved to see them develop and care for each other almost forgetting that even these so called overly perfect loving humans actually slapped kids out of frustration...

People do not slap kids, especially if you are teachers!

There are some good lines here and there, as well as thought provoking scenes, where they actually put the responsabilaty for the kids actions where it belongs! Not bad! There is also quite a bit of absurd humour done right but most of all a lot evil corruption etc done well.. yes I am a sucker for evil , I really am.. However once people start to repent here and there the plot loses its foremost charm as the good vs evil is kind of meeh... While the pure evil here is just gold!

The villain played by Oh Man Suk is so perfect! With flawless acting from his part leaving me 0 room to feel for him as he was truly as evil as evil gets. Making me appreciate him even more and though I can not put him on my crush list I feel I need to give him some love and maybe make a great villain actors list where he would be on top, yes that is how good he is at being evil.

The kids acting here was also really good and each role was well balanced, well written and entertaining to watch!

Bingabilaty: High
Annoying characters: the female lead

A decent drama, but could have been bette and not without tis problems...

Not very good but entertaining enough for an 8

This short web-series is more or less gay to the pint and not much more... I am not really sure what they are trying to say here. Are they trying to tell people to use hook-up apps to connect with people and not only hook up? or are they giving us viewers a lesson in app lingua? Maybe they are sponsored by a dating app that wants to change it´s image , giving is kind of a how to kind of thing? Or is it the anti app lobbyist trying to tell the viewers to forget the apps and just go for it... Since I got attached before the invention of dating apps I do tend to find this fascinating but do not fully understand it.

The leads are sweet, the way they look at each other is mesmerising and all lovey lovey at times, other times it looks more like one guy want's to eat the other (which is probably true). And they do show several shades of loneliness, longing and ways to relate to others. Wishing to be held and not just seen as. a product to f***but seems to contradict itself at times....

The episodes are short to the the point and give us a. heads up about what to expect in the episode. the sound, filming and acting is inconsistent. For example there is one episode where the shirt is on, off, on off, on off... during the same scene but then again what do you expect from a short most probably low budget web-series. if you put all that in to consideration it is actually pretty decently made.

I am not going to say this was very good but it was entertaining and did manage to keep my attention from start to finish so even if i gave it 7,5s all round it still gets an 8 for bingabilaty, in relation its format and entertainment value...

P.S. It is actually an very much a product placement series for a gay dating app...

Bad yet oddly entertaining

This drama has literally nothing particularly good about it yet I found myself oddly drawn to watching it and wanted to see how it would end...

The acting: Bad, like really bad at times
The music: elevator meets 8os porn?
The kisses: mediocre
The friendships: ok
The story: meeh
The romance: straight forward but meeh
The necklines deeper than the ocean...
The pace: fast...
The PPL: was there any PPL?
The food porn: meeh
The cinematography: meeh
The second couple: pretty and odd
Even the clichés here are meeh

So what can i say, I watched it, I won't really recommend it but I a not going to discourage people from watching it as it obviously does have something, I just do not really know what that something is, but it is there and it kept me entertained...

A deep, dark pool of fun and death

This was something different a short series, with what I assume a not so big budget (or all the budget went to the castI, low quality production but indeed very artistic and an interesting story that had me thinking, more than once... To be honest it was first when I saw the behind the scenes that I decided to give this a 9 instead of an 8.

What I like, the complexity of the story they managed to fit in, in such a short span of time. I also liked the OST the contrast between the really pretty cinematography and good visuals set up against the cheep low budget apartment look. I enjoyed most of the acting, Gameplay and Jeff are indeed very charming and fun to watch. There was quite a bit of charm and heart fluttering moments in this otherwise very dark, dark setting. Being a fan of the dark I guess this was up my dark, dark ally...

The humour is mostly cheep but in a good way... as they do joke about sausages while frying sausages...

I do think they could have built even more on this story, but it worked as it was as well.

All in all definitely a show I recommend if you want to feel both entertained and find yourself analysing details and meaning after finishing a show.

So bad it is still bad but made me smile

There are those movies that are so bad they are good, this is however not one of them as it is more or less just bad but it will make you feel good in the end (not only for finally ending).

The 1st lead's acting is awful and he looked like he had pooped his pants most of the movie (that or was about to), his character lacks in most ways including ability to control his impulses, and even though he does have some character development he truly needs a lesson or 10 in consent.

The other guy was sweet and kind and confused.. he did not seem to have pooped his pants but could use an acting lesson or two as well.

The side character where kind of bland, the cinematography too...

Watch it don't watch it honestly it doesn't really matter

The Soju that opened the shell...

This short film is truly just like a pistachio,
Small- Short
Hard at first: Shell
But once the shell is opened you find a delicious (hard) nut... At first I wanted to say that it the inside is more of a softie but actually it is pretty straight forward so I guess Pistachio it is...

The Main characters do a pretty good job with the little they have, the side characters could use some more acting classes. But overall this was an enjoyable short film, not very deep but it is sweet and I guess also a bit encouraging as well.

It may also be a Soju commercial, as the soju seems to be the perfect way to crack open a pistachio. But hey doesn't everybody need some soju to break thrue their shell?

1 Litre No Namida spinoff?

It is very natural to compare this to 1 Litre No Namida same illness, young person , hiding of illness, umbrella scenes and hey there is even a Shiba among the cast. However those years between 15 and 22 as well as years of research between the 1980s and 2010s do make a whole world of difference in setting the tone as well as the opportunities and obstacles these two faced making this just like the title suggests a little bit less about tears and more about time, In a way the drama is a bit like a spin off there with a bunch of answers for the what ifs for Aya... But do not worry there are plenty of emotional scenes there to make you (me) cry.

What I love about this drama is (most of) the friendships, the broken families, the starting point being an utter mess with or without an outspoken disability and the whole journey the characters in this drama take in to figuring out how and with who they want to spend their lives. I do like how they show the importance of finding goals as well as adapting to change, both within or without the workforce, but was bothered by the inspirational mumbo jumbo that followed even if it was not as bad as many other inspirational mumbo jumbo dramas this would have become a solid 10 if they could just have avoided it.

The drama does show a good range of emotions in dealing with a progressive illness that is taking away ability after ability and I would say it does it really well, especially the fears that come with living and coping with this type of situation.... Not knowing what is more scary living or dying, pretty deep and very thought provoking.

I do love how this drama shows the value of life, sensation, memories, and the way we affect the people around us. But what got to me the most was just how human (and gorgeous) the male lead is with or without illness, he is portrayed as a competent human being worthy of more love than he dares wish for, no matter how many or few hours his life has.

In numbers:
Bingabilaty: 10
Tearjerker: 9
Frustration: 9
Lovable characters:9
Punchable characters: 9

All in all definitely a very good drama worth watching, and even if they work great individually I would recommend watching this one after 1 Litre No Namida, so if you have not watch 1 Litres yet start there before you move on to this one

How many girls are too many for us to remember?

The first time I heard of BNK 48 was when I clicked on Faii Sumitta Duangkaew who played Dream in Something in my room.

So this review is from someone who knew nothing about these girls.

This documentary is okay, it has captured some good lines but for a documentary about a girl band it is lacking music... I was kind of surprised over how many girls the band has (never really figured out the numbers) and about how much pressure they must be under but it was also refreshing to see a documentary be so honest about it. As these girls where facing an election with ranking and votes one of the dudes behind this said:

"This election will determine each girls market value"

As true as it probably is, it kind of hit hard to get that thrown in our face, the girls seemed well aware of that fact, the election will not determine popularity but will how much money each girls fanbase is willing to pay for their girl to hit the top.

And I guess that is show business for you... though it is rarely as upfront about it as it is in this documentary, basically it is what it is.

To be honest there were just to many girls in this group/documentary for them to truly get the space to leave a mark... I am no expert but once the amount of members in a group pass a certain number they stop being a group and become a crowd... a very talented crowd with lots of interesting individuals, but still a crowd...

Still it was an educational watch, not very well cut or entertaining but I learned quite a bit and it got me thinking.

Too short but sweet

This short film is such a sweet dose of cotton candy fluff...

As we see Mr introverted reporter learn how to dance from mr extrovert and bubbly dancer... And oh how much fun they have in less than 20 minutes we get to see this beautiful connection, gorgeous moments and a whole lot of awkwardness without secondhand embarrassment as these two leads interact in the sweetest possible way...

The leads are just the sweetest ever, but Mr Introverted reporter has 1 questionable friend and one friend who is as sweet as Mr. Dancer lead so most of the characters are lovable and mr annoying has like 30 seconds of screen time and is probably just there to show prejudice against male dancers... These 19 minutes offer more drama than one would think would fit in a short period of time considering most of the time is taken by sweetness but it is most definitely present making this both interesting and sweet...

I would defiantly recommend this to all who are in need of pic me up dose of sugar and fluff. And would love to see more of these two...

Frustration at its finaet

Frustrated, more frustrated, most frustrated...

This short film does a great job portraying two men who are really, really frustrated... A feeling that grows as the film progresses.

This film also manages to insert a whole lot of twits and made me change my mind more than once about the characters again all in less than 30 minutes and without actually leaving their seats... So I am pretty impressed by the pacing, dialog and way it is written. This film does a great job showing the frustration one can feel while having a long time crush on your friend without actually getting anywhere as well as getting mixed signals or just not being seen... or whatever other reasons there may be this film is just so relatable . I could truly feel the frustration grow... Bringing back memories and reminding me of just how frustrating some people can be... Did I mention it is frustrating?

So in short if you are in need of a dose of frustration, a short but interesting story with twists this is definitely a good choice, just make sure it is frustration you are looking for...

Now count the amount of times I mentioned frustration to see if you are up for the frustration in this film, All the best and good luck to you!

Relatable , Important but Messy

This drama is a bit hard to rate, partly because it is cut and shot kind of artistically messy... There is probably meaning behind the editing just that I do not really get it... Some of the shots are gorgeous but most of them are just oddly cut giving you the constant feeling of being in a messy room that you want to clean... + a little bit to much drunkeness and drugs for me to feel comfortable... But I think part of the point of this show is to make viewers feel just that really uncomfortable and that they achieved in abundance

The characters in this drama are real relatable human being full of flaws that reminded me or people I used to know... I loved Ruth and would love to see more of her story and her potential love interest in a rom com... I also loved YeYe she is artistic, fun, flawed and really the type that is hard to be friends with but you can not help but love.

There are a lot of hints about the characters development, experience and relationships but it feels like we only get a very small part of their story leaving a little bit to much to the imagination and yes making it a bit hard to follow... there is also a lot of rap. music which is not really my cup of coffee but for those who enjoy rap this is probably pretty goos (I would not know...).

The drama has lots of funny and powerful lines, not enough to compensate the mess but enough to make it worth a watch!

Most of the social issues mentioned here are pretty universal, even if not always to the extent shown in the drama since laws and resources differ from country to country but many of the issues are still the same making it relatable even for those on the other side of the world from Manilla.

So yes worth watching just mind the mess and the drugs...
Also low bingabilaty but high lovability...

Cute, short, cute

Here are 7 minutes of my life I would gladly re live again... As I watched some pretty good acting and slightly odd humor teaching us all about how humans try to live up to expectations set up out of such slightly absurd reasons as ones blood type... with a lovely twist at the end. Yes 7 minutes and they still managed to fit in a twist!

My love for Kim Seul Gi has only been strengthened. She is just so cute!

My love for Go Kyung Pyo was also just reinforced, so much that not even what i would call low poop-humor that I actually hate could endanger it as Go Kyng Py is probably the only human alive that can pull off poop-humor without loosing sex-appeal...

So I recommend you keep this for those times you just need a slight dash of fun in your life...
