Old-School Entertainment at its Finest

I originally rated this an 8, but this is also the first drama that I have not rated a 10 that I chose to re-watch so I figured I should up the score a bit.

The quality of the production and acting in this drama is there to remind us of how far the industry has come over the years as the lighting is awful, most of the acting is mediocre and the characters are very stereotypical but oh do I love this.

I admit it i am a sucker for dramas where the OST is part of the plot and preformed by the leads, repetitive with slight variation as it may be it just hits differently than when it is simply part of the background and yes I fall for it every time!

Our male lead is a total jerk goes softie, he has a bunch if flags and pretty much makes every single wrong choice in the book of cliches. He is so far from being boyfriend material (handsome and talented as he may be) and the relationship is rather a manual to how not to behave in a relationship. He completely lacks verbal communication-skills and rater use wrist grab as his got to form of communication. The guy also seems to have some kind of ankle obsession, as all a girl has to do is twist her ankle and he will fall for her every time. But I love it, I really do!

The female lead is short tempered, childish, stubborn, and kind of pathetic at times. She is however still lovable, pretty and talented she has great friends and does have a way with words as well as the language of falling on to the lead.

I did not notice them the first time (as I was new to dramaland) but Im Se Mi and Kang Min Hyuk are also in this drama, and while their characters where ill fitted for them they did shine and annoy at the same time I honestly think I developed a love-hate relationship to those two.

So if you are in the mood for some old-school drama with a bunch of old-school cliches and a lot of fun music this is one of THE best places to find it. It will not blow your mind but it is sure to keep you entertained.

If you are looking for good quality stuff, with green flag leads etc... then this is not the place to find it.

Fan service...

Fan service, fan service as far as the eye can see you will get fan service... Couples getting together, kissing, people taking off their shirts and innocent and child like adult treated like most woman are portrayed gets it on with a mature stereotypical male ... Making this one of the gender convention wise most heteronormative portrayal of gay relationships I have ever seen.

To be clear I am all for mixing it up and portraying what usually counts as feminine traits in people who seen as me as a good thing. However when it is portrayed side by side and present in all the couples it becomes more complicated and less progressive... catering to the feminine eye...or something like that.

That said the story. was ok, nothing wow about it, there is not much of a plot so if you are expecting a plot or something the least bit meaningful that we could exhort in season one you will not find it here. At all, But it you just want an add on to the first season, to see more of the couples of season past. This is a decent place to find it.

Pretty much perfect for those days when you want to ignore the obvious and just be entertained by beautiful people touching each other in beautiful settings.

Also theOST has to be the most mismatched OST I have ever heard... the words do not fit the situation at all...

Simple and Ok

A short film about café flirting turned internet flirting... or more a it´s a small world on K-lesbian twitter. To be honest I did not really feel the chemistry between the girls but I did feel the self doubt, the angst and the slight tango dance between the two.

Should I, dare I... Wait what happened now type of deal.

The story is a bit different than most café/internet flirting stories I have seen so additional points for that.

All in a not a bad way to spend 15 minutes, especially in a world with very few good GLs this is indeed a good choice.

Cute Umbrellas and Sweet but meeh

This is a story about the poor girl who wanted to marry Jungkook as a way to avoid getting in to a complicated relationship and the boy who come from a very complicated yet wealthy family...

The two basically fall in love if it was before or after an umbrella unfolded is unclear but I am pretty sure a see though umbrella had something to do with their feelings of attraction.. .in another Donny and Belle movie... one of those where you basically know what you are getting in to ones you start watching. Not a lot of substance but more melted cheese than Pizza Hut uses world wide in a year.

The leads acting and chemistry is decent, they look very comfortable with each other on screen which is probably a result of being paired together a lot, but I do not see a lot more. There is not much steam instead we get a cloud of fluff to cover 80% of the film.

There are som nice lines here and there, cliches... Lovely umbrellas, the umbrellas of this drama are mentioned more than most of the supporting characters, so the creators of this did indeed show some umbrella appreciation. There is alos some obvious IKEA presence done cute.

The parents including step paren are portrayed as as both loving, selfish, controlling I will leave it to you to find out which is which, But warn you that some of these people could use an acting lesson or 10 , which is a shame.

There are som cute portrayals of friendship as well as brotherhood. To be perfectly honest I am not really sure if the brother is there to add depth or spice, but there is a brother with a mental disability in here that is portrayed the same way people with mental disabilities are often portrayed with the added bonus of how his own family treats him.

All in all an ok watch, nothing I recommend but nothing I advise against either.

Short film or Intro looking for a drama?

This really, really short film is just like a really good intro that to any C-drama, the type that spoils the plot so you should probably skip it to watch the 50 episode drama instead... With pretty fluffy cinematography, music and flowers...

But since it is a GL, chances are this is all we get, a teaser of romance between a tea picking girl and a wounded master... longing, and less exchange of words than I can count on my fingers.

What we got was however sweet, decently performed and did incorporate quite a lot for having so little time and words. Above all it will only take 5 minutes of your time to watch it, so if you have read all these words in this review you might as well go watch it... so off with you, go watch and enjoy ;)

A man, his shower and his imaginary friend done fun

This is of course a commercial dressed as a series, and it is a really good one at that...

This a story about a man who misses his ex girlfriend a lot, and though he can probably fool the people around him his imaginary friend in the shower knows better....

The man or dare I say men in his shower are actually quite a few that come and go. Luckily the mans shower is pretty big so he has room for all of them as well as some dancing, odd props oh and of course water the other tar of this show.

While I admit that some of the guest appearances acting in this could be better the idea and execution of this drama about a man and what looks like a bunch of mostly men but actually is a man and his inner dialog is actually pretty good. The humour was ok the duo of the man and the friend had a really good dynamic of bubbly and cold.

So is this a masterpiece: NO
Is it good: I do not really know

But I enjoyed it and found it kind of refreshing and different... To watch this you must enjoy watching shower scenes, and be ok with seeing an undressed man get wet. You must also not mind body hair and bubbles

Not very lovable but oh so enjoyable watch

This was not very good, had a whole bunch of annoying elements and sounds... The male lead has more flags than there are umbrella scenes in dramaland... And the female lead has such a low self esteem a toddler could walk right over it. But still I found myself hooked and just had to binge it...

There are a bunch of evil men in this, scum of the earth people... some with power some without much power but enough to push others down. We also get to see a bunch of perverts and a mother who would rather have a puppet then a child...

The drama is flooded with good intentions gone bad, lies. lies, and more lies... hiding truths for so called "own good" Self sacrificing gone waaaay to far and a bunch of twists and turns, bad boy gone good, bad, good again, bad, amnesia, bad, good, bad... and so on... There are also a whole lot of my beloved cliches and inconsistent pacing making this both a fast paced and a slow paced romance all at once!

I love the kids in this drama... as well as the show of scars and abs... lovely dimples there are some good smiles and lovely umbrella scenes too. But that is a bout it the rest of the characters are not very lovable at all.

So what can I say it got me hooked, and while there was actually not much I truly liked in it I enjoyed watching most of it a lot...

An ok movie with some interesting representation

This is the story about the bubbly girl who met her cold female lead and fell in love... once she did that she found out a bunch of stuff yet managed to stay bubbly throughout.

Ms. Bubbly has great energy, she is honest and kind and is allowed to make mistakes without coming off as childish. Ms Cold is cool, and while I do not really get her choices she has this smart coolness around her that I highly appreciate. Together these two have great chemistry and a whole lot of good lines.

The people around ms bubbly are lovely too, she has a really fun to watch easy to fall in love with dad, a fake boyfriend who is just the sweetest mist honest and I dare say enlightened guy out there.

This movie is a dialog driven movie, there are a lot of good lines in here, making it almost feel like an educational. But there is also something that feels a bit underdeveloped, meehish to it. As this is a slice of life there is not a lot to keep you on your toes, as the few turns of events are not very eventful and most of the potential drama passes by almost unnoticed.

So basically it is a movie with a nice take on the subject of love, life and the choices society (and biology at the time) force people to make.

I am however not sure any of the people in this actually love their lives as I kept wondering who was going to die...

Steamy, Spaced out Hot Romance...

Woow this was something I had never seen before, yes it does have some cliches here and there after all it is a romcom but it is a fast paced spaced out romance that truly feels like it is from somewhere way out of this world... oosing with creativity, fun characters, artistic stuff, emotions and to be fair there is not a lot of plot, but who needs a plot when there is steam and deodorant?

The male lead is as obsessed with the scent of the female leads, he may come off a bit too forward , scary and to be perfectly honest a bit of a pervert/sex offender. Which should have raised a huge red flag... and send people running, but it is done in a way that ensures the viewers see those actions in a horror movie fantasy type way and not really as part of his character, I know this sounds completely off, but you will have to watch it (the whole drama) to see that he is actually one of Dreamlands most green flag male leads out there... . Seriously there are very few male leads that are as considerate, tuned in, self aware and able to reflect on their own actions as this guy,

The female lead is timid (for good reason), but she is smart, uses actual words (and scent) to communicate, honest and lovable. She experiences great development and breaks out of her shell the further in we go but she does not lose her introverted core or bra for that matter and I love her for it.

There are also a bunch of nice friendships, collegial interactions done right and a feel good aura all the way through..

The pace of this drama is rocket fast! So you may need to buckle up! and each episode provides a unique show of intimacy/ sex scene I am not going to say it was tastefully made even if there is use of rice, fruit and a whole lot of steam... but it is not rated R either in anyway as the most nudity we get is a sweaty chest iside a push up bra and a guy in boxers... Okay a whole lot of moist, sweat and symbolism.. But definitely more funny than sexy in anyway possible qualifying those scenes to the WTF Quirky Sex scenes hall of fame only topped by Ashes of Love...

So if you are in the mood for a decent relationship, good chemistry and something different where office rom com meets horror and fantasy this is definitely a good place to find it. Just make sure you can handle the sweat. Also the leads are indeed HOT in every way possible... I honestly think they were burning up in this...

Another way to define this would be to say that it is a bit likeStrangers From Hell when it comes to creating fantasy vibe without being an actual fantasy drama but instead of murder and horrible colleagues and friends this one shows the polar opposite... Romance and, good people and Fluff....

Interesting twists but a bit lacking in logic

This is one of those dramas that starts off meeh and honestly kind of depressing but gets better as the plot unfolds. As both leads have extremely depressing background stories to make the audience feel both a sense of urgency and protect them in all coast type of deal...

Lomon and Seo Ji Hoon rocked this roles where very well written, consistently good interesting, and defiantly stole the show not only for the show of abs but actual substance they did a great job but I would have wanted to see a lot more screen time with Seo Ji Hoon.

The Others acting, characters and story was kind of inconsistent, some scenes where great others not so much.

Shin Ye Eun had som great scenes but there were times where she did not really convince me, I also found her character annoyingly stupid at times as she changed sides more often than a pingpong boll during a tournament. However her chemistry with Lomon was lovely, and she is overall a pretty bad ass person (whenever she is not acting stupid).

Most of The Other girls were pretty cool most of the time, complex, lovable and showed great friendship.
Lee Soo Min was however better than her role, which was a bit to stereotypical mean girl... She did of course rock it but I hope to see her get casted for better roles. Chae Sang Woo could use a lesson or two in acting, and though his character did make me wonder I still feel that there was something missing...

There drama presents a few social issues here and there but they do not really get in to them as well as show an inconsistency in funding, illogical solutions, illogical situations, illogical decisions, so yes a whole lot of lack of logic and bunch of loose ends too for that matter. The amount of times the male lead gets hit in the head is ridiculous, and I am pretty sure some of those blows should have been lethal. That said this is a drama that actually had me guessing pretty much from start to finish, no that there weren't any clues they were just very wide spread so it was actually a challenge to put all the pieces together which I like.

The OST is lovely so is the cinematography but the filming will also give you motion sickness at times.

So what can I say this was a pretty ok watch, one i would recommend whenever you feel like watching pretty people fight, splatter blood and stay a step a head of the police while trying to solve not only one but several mystery's while falling in love... this is not a bad place to find it, just do not expect to much logic or any kisses.

It is what it is...

What do you get when you mix "She's All That" and "10 things I Hate About You" and add a bunch of words in Tagalog?

Well this, definitely this a lovely teen drama with cliches and things you have seen as far as the eyes can see with a few fun takes, entertaining, cringey, predictable... Oh so predictable, honestly I could probably say their lines before they said them even though it was my first time watching this movie.

However I was entertained and at the moment in desperate need of mindless, bad boy goes soft so it hit just the right spot. So a part of me loved it.

Do I recommend it? Probably not, but if you are in the mood for exactly this (as I was) then yes go for it, as it will deliver exactly what it promises. For those who want substance, or quality of any kind this is not the place you will find it (no offence).

To watch this you must first succumb to your bad taste...

This is the story of Mr Richy rich Klings a lot and the poor, poor, smart girl who never got to go to Uni not have time to think about love as her life was work, work, work and run away from debtors... Mr. Richy Rich Klings a lot has had nothing but time to think about love... and has a very clear one track mind that only lead to her... However he completely lacks both boundaries and communication skills as he believes wrist grab, prank and the good old pick up and throw over ones shoulder are decent ways to communicate.

We get to watch these two figure things out and try to get the girl out of debt... on their way we get to her the same 4 songs over and over again, sometimes completely in sync with what is happening sometimes completely the opposite of what is happening... Which stod for about 70% of the comedy in this drama, the rest was some really low humour and great self aware one liners:

" I am only here to make people jealous"

We also get to meet a whole bunch of love rivals creating a whole range of geometrical figures... I was personally rooting for the lesbian couple, and though it started out so well with a great lesbian character and lovely lesbian representation it fell short towards the later episodes leaving me and I assume most of the viewers all confused.

There are bunch of interesting characters, relationships, found family at its best all lovable and actually very few truly annoying elements, or annoying characters yet oddly the drama as a whole did annoy me at times. They also take on some social issues here and there and have a bunch of unrealistic marketing and business stuff in it. But honestly who cares about accuracy when they need to try to create a plot.

The quality of the show is overall low to medium, the quality of the dimples is extremely high and the chemistry between the leads(all of the leads) is off the charts... + the male lead shows his abs a lot.

So to sum it up this is probably the perfect drama for those who are not ashamed to admit to having bad taste... and in nothing for those seeking any kind of meaningful, artistic, high end stuff... It is an easy to watch fluff piece for all who need to turn off their brain and just bom bom give them your heart... I mena watch them bom bom give each other their heart... Just for the love of whatever you believe in do not set any of these relationships up as goals...

Shining for the Umbrellas

This is a story about a girl who assumes a bunch of stuff and the boy who dare not speak... Exploring the land of what ifs, what I do not know can actually hurt me and a bunch of other stuff in celebration of fireworks, fluff and a whole bunch of beautifully used umbrellas... There is a slight time loop in this drama, of trial and error learning from misstakes and desperately trying to change things that kept me wondering throughout the show, keeping me on my toes and giving me a nice selection of both predictable and less predictable twists.

The mom is annoying at first but as the show moves a long I find the grown ups to be some of the better, less frustrating grown ups found in C-dramaland. Though I will admit that I was highly frustrated at the leads lack of communication skills more than once I did find myself falling for both them and the people around them. As this show truly did give me a whole bunch of lovely friendships and people growing together.

There is also a whole bunch of light stalking and people getting beaten up, a bunch of wrist grab and run... but there is not a single scene of the male lead forcing himself on the female lead, not even the pin up against a wall. So if you are in to that this is not a great place to find it, and while the chemistry between the leads is really good . There is still a lack of good kissing scenes, ensuring this drama will probably not get the steaming kiss tag and is certain to disappoint all those kiss lovers out there... Luckily there are slow mo gazes, falling in to your arms type of deals in here to cater to the romance lovers.

All in all this was an enjoyable watch, with a good balance between the frustrations, fluff and toes.

Decent story but not really for me

This is the story of the 4 friends who tried to make it in the big city... As well as had to face a whole lot of pressure, obstacles and what not... One is a marketeer working with coffee, and probably as obsessed with coffee as I am. One is a bubbly girl with a bunch of secrets, One is a CEO and one is obsessed with things money can buy. As they guide us though the hardships facing young women in the workforce as well as that of city immigrants as well as relationship stuff.

The story itself as well as it's execution and the way they wrapped things up was actually pretty decent so I really should not complain and should have rated it higher than I did... However I found myself annoyed at several characters, bored at times and though I did fall in love with one of the couples one. I like to call the coffee couple and the friendships they were just not enough to make me fall in love with the show as the annoying elements outshined the good.

Give em a series about the coffee couple and I am in, would love to see more of those two, But could honestly just skip the rest as it was not really my cup of coffee....

What did I just watch

This short film made way for an immediate rewatch as I found myself wondering what did I just watch... and what did I miss... It is indeed a very artistic short film... With some pretty decent acting . Yes the boys do not fail to impress me, this could of course be due to the fact that I am bias as **** for having these two be the stars of my first introduction to Filipino content. However it takes a certain something to keep the viewer engaged with very little dialog and not a lot actually happening.

The lighting and music fits the theme pretty well, but I do find myself confused and though there seems to be a lot of death there in Manilla I did not really get a clear answer as to how to die young in Manilla.

that said it is a short independent film that will have your head wondering... make you want to look away as well as have you fascinated by the amount of dead bodies... You may just want to watch this to see how many bodies you can count.
