Meaningful and complicated

The first couple of episode felt low budget, with some powerful comebacks/one liners from Vlad but other than that nothing really special but as the show progressed I almost forgot that they barely leave the apparmen and we get to see the characters grow, fight, respect each other's boundaries and struggle with their fears and feelings.

This drama feels a bit like an educational drama for allies and for those struggling with internalised homophobia without the educational vibe and without the violence. this drama brakes several stereotypes while respecting and making way for stereotypes too. Handling the process of coming out as well as the importance to come out in ones own pace while still showing the complexity to the process with some pretty good entertainment value as well.

The chemistry between the leads is fenomenal, and every little detail seems to have some kind of meaning.

The main couple is really sweet, the OST and filming fitts pretty well but even though I do not know the budget for this drama it is rated according to content and meaning rather then high quality filming.

Revenge of the kittens

This so called horror movie is among the most adorable horror movies I have ever seen! And actually has a little bit of everything in it. Thought the pace in the beginning may not be great , most of the effects make sure you do not think this is real and some of the actors where still in need of a lesson or two, Park Min Young and Kim Ye Ron rocked theirs roles and where a pleasure to watch,

this movie has ALLOT of cute fluffy cats as well as some pretty scary cats and seem to try to convey several messages. The most important one being, be kind to cats or you too shall die, so it actually has some humour in it too.

All in all not a masterpiece but most definitely worth watching,

Short and sweet

This was really short and cute. The main couple is just adorable and really seem to care for eachother and are not afraid to show some public displays of effection. Every single act was consensual and tho they do face some obstecals the main focus seems to be their love and longing for eachother as well as the trouble of having to be apart during the mandatory military service

And can you recognise the mains (without looking at the list) so cool to see them at the start of their very success careers.

Watching this drama feels a bit like walking on a thin line over a valley that gets deeper and deeper for every episode.... Keeping your emotions constantly ready to fall... and even though you know someone is going to die you neither know when, how and though you may have a clue you do not know who it was (or they were) that died.

This drama has a little bit of everything I like in a drama, it has sweet, sweet flirting, bad ass woman, evil parents, corruption, conspiracy, war, confronting abelism, domestic violence, activism, forced marriage, sports, friendship... As well as tackling issues of inequality in every aspect of life. I especially loved the way this drama portrays the different consequences rich v.s poor people face for their activism and so called illegal actions and demonstrations a topic that never seems to get outdated (so are the others).

This drama has an amazing pace and build up. with every episode adding parts to the complexity of the situation and adding new dimension to the escalating conflict helping the the viewers to gradually get in to and understand the the plot. Not one single moment was boring and my ayes where more or less constantly moist.

I often (not always, and not only) judge a drama over its ability to ability to awaken my emotions and this one did just that I felt sorrow, angst, anger, suspense, fluffy inside (tho they did make me cringe once or twice) and made me fall competently in love with this cast. The acting here was top notch, and so was the writing making it feel real. There was not one single character with annoying dialog, mimics or flat no matter how small their side-part was (not guest rolls). I did of course want to knock some sense in to people, screamed nooooooo once or twice at the screen but that is to be expected.

The cinematography was gorgeous and the music fit perfectly as well So yes I loved it and I gave it 10 well deserved stars.

So... If you are more of the no romance war type or if you are looking for a fluffy happy romance move along there is nothing to see here.... But if you are a sucker for tragedy and fluff like me this is defiantly worth a watch.

P.S. I like the fluff too, especially after watching something like this i need to cleans my soul with some pure fluff before moving on.

When society terns us in to our worst enemy it can be hard to know what to tell sunset...

This is a very sweet yet at times emotional roller coaster drama, breaking your heart over and over again. Telling the story of a journey with many victims on the way to figuring out what is true in ones heart. Actually showing how every singel person and choice matter no matter how insignificant he/she/thy may think they are.

This story shows surprisingly few signs of prejudges from the outside world and has full fokus on the inner struggles of a person trying to figure out his feelings and the affect on both himself and the people around him who become collateral damage on the way to self-acceptance. Honestly a journey that would have been allot easier if people where taught inclusion from the start, but well that is probably to much to ask for, but hey one day...

It is at times easy to get mad and frustrated by the lead for making so extremely poor choices while lacking communication skills, but what is youth if not that a series of poor choices while learning to deal with the consequences of ones actions. Plus even if the drama shows very little signs of prejudges from the outside world, Tahs struggles are most definitely a result of growing up in a hetero-normative society. So it is there while not being there... kind of like a ghost in the background whispering do not forget you live in a hetero-normative society over and over again.

What makes this drama special is that every singel bad choice was called out and had a realistic non sugarcoated consequence, giving a realistic feel to this drama. I also loved how friendship and different types of relationships are portrayed in this drama, as well as the way they portray the value of a living in a supportive environment for growth and in the long run self acceptance.

This drama has allot of playful fun scenes between the heavy emotions, swimming and running around on beautiful beaches making studying seem FUN, and you might just learn a word or two in Chinese.

All in all this is defiantly a drama worth a watch, I am looking forward to season 2 but hope Tah has become more comfortable with himself so that the relationship can grow and hope he can stop hurting himself and the people around him.

P.s I want to make a side note about the existence of people who are pansexuall as well as bisexuall, just because you fall in love with a person with the same assumed sex as yours does not automatically make you a lesbian or a homosexual. A man can fall in and out of love with a girl and then fall in love with a boy... That boy could be assumed to be a boy but actually be a girl too. Sexuality and gender identity are a spectrum, sound complicated but it is not.

A lovely romcom that will make you wanna kiss, kiss, kiss a consensual kiss

I do not always rate dramas solely on how they make me feel but this one probably is 90% feels 10% quality. Because I did feel a range of emotions with everything from, happy, nervous, hot, tickled, sad, angry to confused.

To be honest the production was mediocre and the best acting skills where probably shown by the child actors in the later episodes (though most of the skills improved with time). This drama was mostly an easy to watch, sweet, steamy, fluffy drama with a cold and awkward main lead along side a worm and loving other main lead. Some episodes dealt with important issues showing the importance of living in a supportive environment and the harm a joke can make. Giving this otherwise extremely light, fluffy, steamy, funny rom com a slight serious core between the laughs.

This truly has the makes of a classic rom-com drama with all the parts including a love triangel, jealousy, mild stalking, consensual relations, childhood sweetharts and misunderstandings all topped off with an OST that setts the mood for each scene and a theme song that just will not leave your head no matter how hard you try.. I wanna kiss, kiss, kiss.... I wanna kiss you, do you wanna kiss me too... so it may kind of make you want to kiss just a bout any one.. okay not anyone but it will awaken your wish to kiss, so if you do not have some one who you can kiss in a consensual way you might want to prepare your self. A big plus is how this drama deals with the issue of consent and the complexity of finding trust in another human being. I loved this dramas take on the classic scandal/celebrity relationship theme probably making viewers mad but staying true to the characters personality, as well as the problems that may occur while facing the harsh reality of facing pressure from others. Can love survive anything? And how much would you be willing to forgive/sacrifice for love?
Another plus was the way this drama portrays femininity, masculinity and sexuality showing a spectrum not playing in to traditional gender roles and stereotypes. As well as criticizing both the industry and the female gaze in a very smart way,

All in all this is defiantly a lovely rom com about a actually not so lovely writer but a lovely actor that just seems to want to be kissed by the not so lovely writer...

A sweet sweet (un) requited love song

What could go wrong with mains like these, who actually seem to know how to act, pick a script, and charm the **** out the viewers?

-Absolutely nothing, really nothing went wrong, not even the PPL felt out of place.

In this drama where they try to answer (yet again ) the time long question, can a boy and a girl be platonic friends?

The answer should probably be is sure they can, but not necessarily... They also try to figure out how to go about changing directions from platonic to romantic or if it better to just forget about the change and stick to what they know... As a platonic friendship is actually pretty awesome on It´s own to and life truly is about making choices and being ready to face the consequences that follow.

As a whole this drama truly is one of those feel good, feel frustrated romcoms that manages to walk the thin line between what should have been a movie but became a miniseries. I really want to say that I wish this was longer or had more episodes but at the same time I feel that the story is pretty well told. well paced and feels pretty complete. So even if I would love to see more of these two characters I kind of get it.

Pros with the short series: no unnecessary annoying side characters or side plots to take away focus from the main plot, easy to binge, and though there is a high level of frustration being aware that the series is short assures you that this too shall pass...

Cons: I want more fluff, more romance and more love... oh love... bickering and well everything these two can offer I will take is as they are very lovable and have chemistry shooting fireworks as if it is Chinese new years... or something like that.

In numbers:
Couple: 10
Frustration level: 9
Hart flutter: 10
Side characters: 9
Bingeabilaty: 10
Sweetness: lollypop dipped in suger

So I definitely recommend this to all rom-com lovers out there.

Hot but not that interesting

Fist of all I know a lot of people really love this movie , and while I do understand that there is a lot to love. I just could not fully get in to the story, I was neither touched nor did I love any of the characters in this movie enough to truly care about... Well anything in this movie.

that said the movie does indeed offer quite a few hot scens, explosive tension and chemistry that is out of this world. Hot, Shirtless, sweaty dance if the waltz is a courtship then the Salsa is hot n erotic (or something like that) and yes they truley delivered the dance and erotic courtship...

I may have missed something in the dance, maybe we were supposed to learn to know the characters thrugh the understanding of dance but since I lack that understanding it did not touch me enough to make it worth the hype.

P.s. I watched it before I realised there was hype...

Agonizing to watch but brilliant and worth the pain

This drama is excruciating and agonizing to watch, there is no doubt that you will hate every single person in this drama at some point or another and find it extremely hard to understand the choices they make (at least I did since this dramas reality is pretty far from my own but still interesting). So if you are looking for a feel good love story move on this is NOT the drama for you no matter how cute you may think Jung Hae in is, if you are not ready to deal with the pain there won't be any gain so you just might as well move on.

Yet still I gave this ten stars, why you may wonder am I a masochist? I don’t think so… Am I completely biased by Jung Hae In Probably, but I only gave a piece of your mind a 9 and it an allot easier drama to watch. To be honest the second time I watched this drama I skipped some scenes and stopped watching after the eleventh episode. So why on earth would I give this drama a 10 If I did not even want to re-watch all of it the second time around? I think I have several reasons:

1. Jung Hae Ins acting is brilliant in this, his flirting, his emotions, almost every single scene with him caused an emotional reaction, mostly happy, heart fluttering cuteness.
2. Jung Hae Ins smile the guy smiles allot in this drama and that smile is definitely contagious.
3. Jung Hae Ins styling, gorgeous sneakers and long coats matched beautifully with casual clothing (he is also shirtless once or twice) .
4. Jung Hae Ins character is just very lovable.
5. Did I mention Jung Hae In is the lead in this drama?

Junf Hae in aside…

6. The chemistry between the two leads, the humor between them and the way their love just reaches out beyond the screen is amazing and will make you feel all gooey inside.
7. The realism, unlike many other fight the patriarch dramas this drama actually shows the painful and harsh reality and consequences one may face while fighting back, no we can do it feel to it here no.
8. The issues this drama addresses are both interesting, important and complement each other well and show haw different issues relate to each other such as sexual harassment, domestic violence, prejudice, social class and controlling parenting...
9. Son Ye Jin doues an amazing jobb portraying this very conflicted character and has great caracter growth.

All in all the pluses out did the minuses by a landslide so even if I didn’t enjoy every single part of it, it is definitely worth a ten in my book.

As you see I loved this drama and I recommend it to anyone who is willing to watch it but I warn you it’s a slow paces, difficult to watch, easy to fall in love drama that will make you feel every single emotion out there (probably mostly anger) but if you are willing to ride out the hardships and focus on the cuteness it is definitely worth the watch, oh and did I mention Jung Hae In is really cute in this?

A whole lot of fluff before it gets rough

This was such an easy binge with adorable leads and sides, not a single annoying character for as far as the eye can binge and so much fluff.

The viewers are invited in to this almost 40 guys fluffy world hidden far far away from all things macho. A short guy who seems to be kind to all hard working and just as cue as cute can be in a very compact body. The other male lead is tall, young handsome, sporty and has twin sisters but we the viewers fo not really get invited in to his world other than the one tat revolves around out short male lead. These men take us on a journey to get out of ones shell daring to order complicated sweet and leaving the fluffy oh so fluffy apartment for experiences beyond the well defined work world.

However leaving this well defined world is never easy as fear, and past experiences are never truly far behind, always there lurking ready to attack. Something that was done really well.

I loved the characters in this drama, each contributed to the story as well as raised issues people do meet in as adults in a very easy going not the leas bit preachy kind of way.

Objectively speaking this may not be a 9 star drama but the way these two and their colleagues made it in to my heart and almost made me shed a tear is what pushed the rating over to the top.

Cute, but poor, poor Moo

"I am not a mosquito, no matter how much you shoo me away I won't leave"

This is a cute little easy to watch and easy to love drama. While I will admit that some of the actors could use a few acting lessons the over all feel to this is oooh so cute and ohhh poor Moo...

As we meet our bubbly, male lead Moo, a guy in need of a lesson or ten in respecting other peoples boundaries. However he is sweet his intentions are good and it really is hard to dislike the kid. He is also very talented and surrounded by people who underestimate him from start to finish the people around him keep underastamting him over and over again making mee feel bad for poor Moo. He is also the one character (ok, there is one more) who's delivery of, well everything is good (boy can sing, dance and act)

Out other male lead is cold, and warm, bickering fun but boy really needs to improve his mimics and delivery of lines.

There is some second hand embarrassment, and a few kind of meeh very predictable twists that had me lower the score a bit but all in all a fun watch that I do recommend to those who enjoy music, dancing and slightly obsessed boys in love.

Is it really unknown?

This is a really interesting slice of life found family drama, with pretty decent acting and interesting characters who seem to be able to survive more or less anything... So I am not really sure about how realistic this portrayal is but it does manage to convey hardship, growth and bonds beyond... anything.

I am not really sure how I feel a bout the romances in this, while they where very predictable and do a really good job portraying the development and events leading to the romances... I can not help but wonder if the story would have been better if the relationships stayed platonic.

But then again we would not have gotten to see Xiao Yuans fantasyes which would have been a shame as those where the cherry on top of this drama.

A good story, well portrayed but with enough iffy elamnts to keep me from giving it a higher score.

A decent remake, yet incomplete

This remake has some similarities with the original but switched out most of the testosterone, impulse, lack of consent and lust with a whole lot of found family, slices of life, fluff and dare I say romance.

Do not get me wrong there is still the need to own the other person and signs of addiction towards each other, just not as hard core and where there once was pinning down, and more or less kidnapping we now have playful games and kisses on the cheek.

How this made it though the notorious hands of Chinese censorship is beyond me but I thank who ever let the obvious gayness slide and called it "bromance" instead. there are som pretty decent friendships, an odd use of crossdressing, and whole lot of meals. The star of this show is however the boys little sister.

The things that drag down the score are the over use of flash backs and never ending montages, the uneven pacing and odd ending leaving me with a feeling of incomplete, which is a bit to bad.

All an all a decent watch but just a little bit incomplete...

A lot of hers, and pretty obvious whys... yes power, money and mean men

If you feel like watching a drama that will help you loose all hope in humanity, feel a bit powerless and that that drips evil this is a pretty decent place to find it. Does it offer anything new to the table of evil powerful men do bad **** and abuse their power to their own benefit... not really, but it is still interesting to watch how creative writers can be at finding ways to write evil... You know just when you thought you had seen some really evil men then you watch this and see oh that is another way to be evil... manipulative... and so on and so on.

So if you are like me and enjoy a dose of evil now and then this is definitely a drama worth watching.

If you are in it for the noona romance... you will probably find this drama lacking, not in terms of chemistry of lovable male lead but in build up and screen time for the actual romance aspects of the drama as the drama Big Mouth that is not listed as a romance has a lot more romance than this drama does, so yes it has some romance but not enough to satisfy the romance lovers out there.

There are a bunch of sweet, sweet top tire friendships, in this drama, a hint of bromance, a trio and sisterhood so good it will make you swoon.. okay maybe not swoon but definitely lovely to watch.

There are a few annoying elements here and there, the female leads family is annoying as **** and the way they show sorrow is well executed by the actors but a bit over the top, I blame the director for this. There is a also a bunch of cringy dialog here and there... The pace is fast in the beginning having me say "Oh that escalated quickly" in more or less every episode during the first half. However fast pace meant also fast wrap up (rushed), at times if feels like they are trying to fit in just a little bit to much evil without really taking care of all the evil they send our way... adding twists just for the sake of twisting that feel just unnecessary.

So if you like evil go for it... if not move a long and watch something else.

bingabilaty- high, heart flutter- low, emotional stuff -low... plot -decent... round up- rushed.

Big Mess (in a good way)

This is one of those dramas that is a bit hard to rate, the story is overall good, the production amazing and the actors are all professionals who know what they are doing. Teaching viewers never ever to drink, well anything while driving, to not trust anyone and that it only takes one moment to make a fatal mistake that will kill you...

The story is some kind of combo Mouse, Prison Play Book, Big Boss and Erin Brockovich with a twist... And a couple of plot holes. It started. off trying to portray Big Mouth as a guy who is slightly pathetic, happily married with a great found family in his father in law but kind of a looser, and well though Lee Jong Suk does do a good job trying to portray that guy, I could not really buy it and did not really enjoy seeing him that way... However I assume that was there to make way for the rapid character development that followed. Beside that first episode of pathetic Big Mouth. The rest of the characters and their characterisation was done really well, they were all divers, complex and mysterious enough to make me suspect more or less anyone as Big Mouse during that first part of the drama. All good things that had my head spinning in. a good way.

There are also quite a few great pebels of romance, that truly add that something to this drama, and though it is not in any way a romance, those pebels where a lot better than many scenes in pure romcoms. Me a romance junky would have loved to see more of those... Maybe in a drama special...

The villains in this are as corrupt and evil as it gets, while I would say I have seen quite a few evil rich and corrupt people portrayed in dramaland... I found that the villains here actually managed to beat quite a few of the previous evils I have seen. So I would say the villains here are defiantly among the top villains of dramaland.

There were however a few draggy parts in the middle, some a bit to predictable parts and some stuff that where clearly only there to confuse us. There where also a few social issues mentioned here and there such as domestic abuse, and doctors ethics but they were not really explored...

At some point the drama changed direction, while some may not like this I really enjoyed the shift and found the second part really interesting, and while I did feel that the ending was a bit rushed I was kind of impressed over how they wraped it up.

So people, do not drink anything and drive... heck why not avoid contact with liquids all together... But if you do enjoy watching evil, corruption, eat the rich type of stories and do not mind a few plot holes here and there this may just e a good fit for you.
