Sweet n´Slow...

This was such a slow paced, but sweet lesson about love, and the obstacles involved in wanting to change the past... Did I, who am used to watching dramas where it takes like 16 hours for people to get together just call a movie slow paced, yes I did... I really did...

However slow as it may be it does come with an interesting lesson in connecting the past with the present without to many effects of interesting distractions.

The main coupe is mature, sweet and calm inspire of this very odd situation and time complication they seem to be in. there are a few interesting twist too but nothing really exiting to watch on screen but the story is good so I am sure the novel it was adapted from is better then the movie.

To be clear, the acting was good, the characters were lovable, and the story interesting it just lacks that extra spark and pace one would expect from a movie... So it was good but maybe not so entertaining...

Our Painfully, Pain, Pain, Pain with a side of flufff

Prepare yourselves for some pain, and I do not just mean a little pain, I mean a lot of it as the team for this drama truly do all in their power to make you feel the prolonged suffering of the main couple with the use of dialog, visuals and a pretty painful OST.
I was honestly surprised over how much could feel their pain, as I spent most of this drama with a lump in my chest. And as the true drama masochist I am I LOVED every moment of it... yep I did! If you are not a fan of pain step away and do not come near this drama.. because it has so many different types of pain and levels of brokenness, fear and pain making it one of the most painfully, pain, pain, pain dramas I have watched of course with some humour, cuteness and beauty... but did I mention pain?

I think I read someone say this reminded them of Reply 1988 and I am willing to agree, I am just not going to tell you in what way, so I won't spoil it for you... But there is deffinetly a familiarity between the two dramas.

This drama has a few (very few) slightly annoying scenes, but I would say this is a meet after a break up drama done right. though I did want to yell at the cast from time to time to TALK TO EACH OTHER... There was not a single character (ok one) that was not lovable at least once.

"My mother is dyeing and I don't feel the least bit sad" made me forget every single flaw in this drama...

Extra points for the way they portray how poverty affects people, as well as some pretty raw lines about bad parenting... minus for some other parts about parenting but then again some more for the good parents and what makes a family...

Extra points for the OST, showing how much ones mood affects the way you hear a song, as some of the songs felt sad and dark in some of the episodes but happy, fluffy and romantic in others... yes the same song, same piano... same tone, same voice... completely different emotion. Now that takes talent and color me impressed!

It also has some well done product placement, some a bit too obvious that will make you laugh, and some PPL that is just in the way... Also wrong botle of Soju... it was blue! very confusing. They make good use of umbrellas too...

This drama is not for everybody, so do not be fooled by the name Our Beloved Summer... there is very little beloved and even less summer (it is mostly fall and winter). But for all you fellow drama masochists out there, this will have you felling stuff, biting your nails and screaming at the screen!

Oh and most of the episodes are named after movies from the 90s... kind of cute.

´Sweet cliches but Cant help getting annoyed by the OST..

This is just such a sweet cliche fest... Sweet, fun, well paced and actually pretty interesting story with gorgeous scenery!

This is probably the first time the OST actually made me remove stars from the drama, if you looooove Elvis it may add points, the title of the drama should probably have tipped me off so there is no one to blame but myself. I am pretty neutral towards Elvis and did not have anything against "I can´t help falling in love with you" but after hearing this song play for the 99999 time in less than 2 hrs I felt like muting it all... So be where.

Things I enjoyed, the chemistry, the fluff, the scenery and the slight well made presence of trans representation (very short but good) as well as the relationships, friendships and the way they showed different ways of controlling a person in a relationship without using physical violence.

The male lead is such a sweetheart, and though he did marry the fl while she was drunk he is actually pretty good with grasping the whole notion of consent thing and is very thoughtful.

The female lead is fun, bubbly, distressed and considering her situation she could have easily annoyed me but no, I could completely follow her thought process as well as her struggles with her situation.

So all in all a pretty decent movie.

Great potential and good start but after a while it went down hill...

This drama had such a interesting start with great chemistry fun scenes, fun twists and really complex and well made characters with pretty good stories attached.

The portrayals of the friendships among the palace maids where definitely goals, and one of the best portrayals of friendships between girls out there showing true gals before guys, found family,... the works! I really liked all the different personalities among the maids. The grandpa is also such a sweetheart, killer kind and cruel paranoid ruler yet still just a big huggable teddy bear.

I really enjoyed some of the ways woman where portrayed here, how the line between super evil villain and fight for our rights is kind of blurry and the way the talk about the value of different lives. Because let´s face it women where not really that valued, and women from the lower classes could very much have been seen as nothing else but replaceable goods... And that was shown with brilliantly placed lines as well as twists...

The female lead was so cool. smart all round amazing the first half of the drama only to become highly frustrating bordering on pathetic the second half, almost making me loose interest in this otherwise highly bingeble show.

The male lead is also. smart, fun, most of the time respectful (not bad for a 1700 king), fine he kills a bunch of people and does not really know who to trust... but over all he is a sweetheart with pecs and scenes that are sure to make you blush... But he too does have the slightly wrong kid of character development...

Acting, music, cinematography are all really great and there are no truly annoying characters if you do not count he female lead during the second half.

All in all an a pretty ok drama, but slightly disappointing as it was off to such a great start , but I guess the life of a queen or a concubine in the palace is basically just life in a fancy prison...

Cute, funny, touching and says many things that need to be said

This is one of those feel everything dramas, that show a lot of interesting issues thru the lives of a pretty miss-mashed group of people who share a common space but other than that have nothing in common.

The different lifestyles and interest of the family's here is shown both at the first meeting but also thrue how differently they decorate their homes and well keeps on from there with conflicts, arguments, slammed doors and broken plants... However every single character in this drama (yes even the shortest roles) show great growth,

Why I rank this so highly is because of the way they say and show many things that rarely get to be said but truly need this space. Though there where times I was annoyed at how they portrayed the some of the characters as time went by they grew on me and I seem to have forgiven the writers (seeing I rated it highly) for making the pros cover the cons.

Important issues covered here are voluntary and involuntary childlessness, women's rights, men's mental health, depression, LGBTQ, found family, domestic violence, divorce, children's rights, self value etc. All well packaged with a lot humour and fun situations.

So yep go watch it enjoy and do learn from it!

Great sequel to a lovely prequel

This movie takes of where part one ended, and it does it beautifully showing how these two keep trying to figure out what they want from each other. What triggers them and if and how they can deal with the inevitable end for the one week relationship that is playing games with their minds.

This movie has several moments of tension, making the viewers wonder how will this go? is Seiryo really a masochist falling for impossible people? Or will he Skipp Yuzuru and go for his sister instead? Is Yuzuru really just a jerk? And what about that Shino girl that keeps calling and ruining things?

Part two was just as sweet and fun if not even sweeter, easy to watch and all round lovely... But do watch part one first! And well if you did not like pet one you will not like part two...

Fluff at its best

This is a really sweet and fun romcom with several nice couples, music and a dash of awkwardness. The first episode was a bit low on the humor part but second to eleventh episodes where a feast for the aye and just fun to watch as Icicle or male god and smiles go from fake to real, hetero to bi , hate to love couple in the most adorable way yes all those common tropes in one that are allot of fun to watch. The side characters and side stories are 80% sweet 15% stalkers and 5% annoying at times but over all very lovable.

The main couple is adorable but it bothers me that one seems to have to want be more physical than the other a common theme in many dramas. Why cant we just see two people want to kiss each other instead of the no means yes? or no means just convince me more? the line is not crossed, there are no forced kisses or so just not very mutual though the feeling grow to be very mutual its the physical part that does not seem to sync. Still a very sweet story and adorable character growth with lots of fun fluffy scenes.

Then there is some unnecessary trouble that dragged down the overall experience and score for this show but all in all definitely an easy drama that is worth a watch.

I laughed so loud I think the whole neighborhood heard it

At first I was worried that the fact that all the roles where played by men would turn men in drag in to a punchline but I quickly found that not to be the case. The acting here was surprisingly good while the humor was so bad it made it so very, very, very good.

Every singel joke was just terrible yet funny in a non offensive way. The chemistry between the leads was also good and the whole group was just so adorable fitting in so many trops in to 30 minutes of pure laughter.

My humor may be low some times but it is okay to not have divine humor ;)

This series starts and ends ten years after high school but the rest takes place during the last year of high school. The story is very sweet, with wonderful friendships, solidarity and a strong feeling of we can do it together. The chemistry between the leads is phenomenal yet very innocent.

The male lead does push the female against the wall once in an argument but other than that both male leads are very respectful towards her boundaries and each other. There aren't any annoying side caracters. Things not to be taken for granted in a c-drama.

As in many school C- dramas it is very pure and study oriented. The amount of time these students spend in school is very strange for me having gone to school in Sweden and Israel. The very idea of teachers confiscating mp3s and getting involved in the students social life is very strange for me but it’s interesting to learn about it.

I found myself yelling at them come on just let the kids listen to some music. I personally need music when I study. It feels like the series is trying to say that everybody is different and that students learn in different ways but at the same time it’s very strict. I did feel the story was dragged on a little to long and would rather see some more of the time after high school but otherwise it’s a nice drama.

Is there really anything after Love?

A beautiful story about love, youth, and loneliness. A romdrama in its true sense where what is not said speaks louder than what actually is said. A silence so painful it broke my heart, over and over again making me feel stuff.

That said this drama also has a whole lot of fluff, there to make sure you see the difference between the joyful past and the numb present. this is also a drama that uses hair to speak to the audience, not only as a marker of time but also something that had me wondering how they could keep their hair that straight or curly for so long...

The OST is one that I will probably remember for a long time, the line: "Hold me in your eyes" in the context of the drama has such great meaning, as the mimics may try to lie but the eyes tell the story, them and of course the hair.

A highly bingebale drama thatI do recommend, and is probably more of an 8.75 than an 8.5

Thirst scenes and smiles as far as stream can reach...

"I'v wanted to lick your muscles since the first time I saw you" is pretty much what this drama has to offer... As we enter the story of the at times slightly annoying wedding planer and the groom with a wedding plan to do the planner.... Spending more time showing the audience his upper body muscles than fully clothed or talking making this an entertaining watch but ot a lot more.

The story itself is okay, it is not good, not bad, it has some sweet and fun moments, a prolonged misunderstanding making most of the viewers think of the geney in Aladdin begging him to just tell the planner the truth and put him out of his misery... but also done in a very evil yet playful way.

The cast and characters are lovely, all in need of an acting lesson or 10, and while I will admit that I was entertained and found several of the cast a pleasure to watch their mimics where often wrong or felt forced focusing a lot more on making scenes where people lick each other than actually delivering dialog beyond smiles and gazes that is.

And well I guess that is the point here the story and delivery could have been a lot better if the focus was on the delivery of dialog instead of making people thirst. That said some of the dialog was actually pretty good and there where actually moments of meaning here and there...

So if you are in the mood for some sweet moments and misunderstanding with a lot of heat this is a really good choice. But if you are sensitive to bad acting or in need of any type of depth you might as well skip this watch.

P.S. Lom (Sunny) may need some acting lessons or better directing but still gets a 10 from me and th eMCD PPL is off the charts

Bad acting meeh story and a questionable agenda...

Someday good actresses will choose to star in a GL.. There will also be great writers lining up to tell amazing stories about love, friendships, and mysteries... There will be a great budget there too, great dialog and amazing kisses...

Obviously not in this, this was pretty much 3 sweet moments, a mom that looked to be the same age as the girls... And a story I felt like I had seen in hetero dramas and while I did appreciate seeing a lesbian couple there where just some twists that made me wonder what are they actually trying to tell us?

And what agenda are they actually trying to convay?

Something in this just felt off, and it was not just the acting.

Great friendship, draggy unnecessary emotional porn....

This drama has allot of good parts but also ALLOT of draggy emotional lectures that seem to be there to show us how doctors should talk to their patients surrounded by all things that seem to be there so the audience will feel emotional... but instead of emotional it just made me tierd sick and brought out my less pacifistic side... It is ofcourse nice to see doctors actually doing their job in a medical drama, putting the patients and their needs first but it just gets to be to much. The way it is edited and added violins and pianos here and there is supposed to bring out the tears but just felt artificill and had the opposite affect on me. The amount of times people in the drama say thank you or apologize would make a lethal drinking game, that not a single person could survive.

What the drama does well is showing allot of types of bonds and friendships between both the patients, their families and the main cast making way for both extremely slow paced romance, bromance, romance , finding comfort in a person in the same situation at the hospital, etc... The 5 friends are playful, fun to watch and just make you wish you where part of their band.

I love that they make way for the female lead to sing even though her singing is just awful, I love the way they use rain to make beautiful emotional scenes (yes some emotional scenes where done well) , i love the food and I love the camping scenery. All things that almost made up for the annoying never ending lectures.. to be honest friendship 10 stars, lectures 5 stars, romance 9 stars.... becomes 8 stars all together. But in a way I find myself wanting to say I am not mad at the creators I am just disappointed...

Confusing, Aviation comercial meets Aladdin meets Korea

I honestly do not really know how to rate this or how to review it... I find the religious/cultural/Psycopath parts confusing, very confusing and not in a good way but more of a is this okay, should I be watching this with a clear conscious, should this have been made at all? Then again I loved Aladdin as a kid.

I do like the leads and their characters. I like several of the side characters.

Kim Woo Bins smile and charm is worth at least 2 extra stars, and so is the look of death on Bae Suzys face. And yes I may bit a bit bias to the two.

As far as plot and drama its not really bad or anything it does have its good moments of sweet and adorable. It does have some low humour but also some decent humour here and there but it gets to be a bit draggy and is just not enough to keep me on my toes or very interested as I find the most interesting part of the plot to be how many flights between Korea and Dubai can one fit in the course of 13 episodes? As well as long for the dessert, not so much for finding a Genie but more sun and sand is so pretty. So I guess the Emirates PPL did make its way in to my mind.

If you are a fan of the leads and the makers of this show you may find yourself questioning your choices of fandom both if you choose to watch or not watch it.

As for those who are not really fans of any of the leads Id say nee, you can find better dramas in the stream...

Wasted cast, wasted potential story...

This is what happens when you take 1 cup of great cast, 5 cups of good ideas, 3 cups of stories but forget to mix it all together to a smooth and consistent story before burning it in the oven.

I have been struggling to rate this drama, there are some pretty decent shots, and interesting dynamics between the leads. The story does bring something new, and the fact that non of the characters is perfect or truly lovable has its charm. However they missed some key moments in the process and build of Pheems character. I do not really understand his obsession. While I can clearly see Kos progression and reasoning between his choices. While I can appreciate the show of beeing drown to the bad for you in Jira they failed to convey the glue between the on and off again. There was to much missing for me to truly understand him making him seem fickle. There was so much that could have been done here that was left out leaving me unattached and with a feeling of meeh.

That said, there are some pretty decent (hot) shots, the art is interesting , not sure about the AI side plot though...
