Guns n' Cringes

Don´t judge the drug dealer by the drugs in his trunk,.. or is it by the bullets in his gun?
Anyway this is a well casted story that has some pretty fun moments and a lovely cast, that starts odd a tad cringe but fun and then becomes more and more twisted before it goes back to cringe as we get up close and personal with:

Our first male lead the jinx/criminal too kind for his own good, smart, charming and fun in every single way. This guy refuses to get his hands dirty but come on, you are still kind of involved... He keeps having a lot of bad luck. this is actually due to having a father that should have been thrown in jail long ago for the way he treated his son, yet no one seems to do something about him teaching us that the patriarch is indeed still going strong.

Or other male lead the so called cop is adorable in the beginning but experiences character deterioration. Written without logic the guy goes from sweetness and spice and everything nice to... bland, tasteless goo. A true shame.

Other criminals: sweetest guy ever, make you wanna join their family even if you risk a finger or two..

Sister to the male leads: Is the best sister in all of dramaland.

Best friend/love triangle female character: Has the most characters to her of them all, not all are lovable but the actress is gold.

The rest of the characters are more or less predictable, some will offer fighting scenes other offer cringe and then there are those who show up with food... brave, week, impulsive but besides out father of the year and so called cop male lead no one annoyed me.

All in all a decent show, just mind the cringe and you will be fine!

Mediocre 2.0

Once upon a time I wrote a review about a drama and used the word mediocre 10 times out of 100 words... And I guess I was reminded of that in this drama as this was pretty much as mediocre as it gets... Except for maybe the kissing who took a step back and ended up as dead fish... but that was evened out by the use of water, rain and people getting out of the shower. So at the end of the day I guess this is just one of those dramas you can watch because it is short and will keep you occupied or it could actually help you fall a sleep as nothing really exiting happens in it at all.

Icicle, cohabitation, hate to love, bickering, opposites, friendship, family and everything nice

Yes this is yet another cliche fest of pretty much all my favourite tropes except for maybe amnesia as we get to watch miss
hard working and bubbly meets hard working icicle just the way I like it on screen, but not in real life.

The food, cakes, people and scenery are all gorgeous. There are a few characters including the female lea that are a little bit over the top in their gestures and acting, but it stopped bothering as the story progressed and I fell in love with them instead. The female leads best friend is pretty much there to cheer her friend on in to getting it on with pretty much anyone. Their conversations lead to misunderstandings and bothered me at first too. However at one point it became a thing and they upped it up a notch making me curious about what the friend would be doing the next time she appeared instead of annoyd.

Our male lead is soooo coool, dude completely lacks verbal communication skills yet is fluent in insults and silent affection and scenery spotting. As well as has this look that will melt the people around him while keeping him frozen no matter what he does he manages to stay coool. While the female lead has a way of staying awkward and warm. A true show of opposites attract.

There is a whole lot of love geometry, of the highly predictable type there not only to prolong the story but also to make sure the viewers know stuff about the characters.

I also loved the way they talked about a family, brotherhood and other stuff... And while I did get mad at a few of the characters I appreciated both loving and hating them. When you watch this I am sure you will understand what I mean, but to not risk spoiling the plot Ill leave it at that.

This is definitely an easy binge that will captivate the cliche lover from start to finish, as for those of you who are in this looking for some kind of gore or action after seeing Yamazaki Kento in Imawa no Kuni no Alice you will not get it here. But damn the boys character is sooooo much better in this than he ever was in that,

A lot more than you...

This is a pretty decent drama, the characters are lovable have pretty good character development and the story is pretty interesting both the underdog sports part as well as giving it a business angle rarely seen on screen. So it felt kind of fresh in a way and gave a more wholesome puzzle than most sports dramas.

The chemistry between the leads and the surrounding couples is also really good, they have pretty predictable plotlines but one of the side couples actually left me wanting more and if I am honest was actually more interesting than the main couple. I also loved the take on divorce this show has. It also offers a whole lot of lovely come backs and polite ways of telling men that the universe does not always revolve around them...

The friendships and found family in this are pure gold! They are probably the selling point of this drama way beyond both romance, bromance and fight the corporate jerks in this.

No one annoyed me, and it was not as draggy as many other 30+ episode dramas are. However it would have been a lot better and maybe even gotten a 9 if they cut down the episode count to 24 by skipping some of the unnecessary twists and filler scenes that did not add a lot to the plot but where there... Or just by switching out the unnecessary and added more time to the less explored couples of the show.

Part of me wants to give this a 7,5 for its unnecessary parts, however the over all feel, lack of annoying over the top characters makes up for that.

P.S I also learned the rules for tennis so it is even educational

Something different, different

This was... ehem... what was this? It was a bunch of crackers (I thought one of them was a bunch of trash bags) singing they want to be eaten gently, lovingly and what not... I am not going to say this is good but it is definitely something different that I do believe people should watch for the WTF did I just watch effect that it has.

If you look for it you will find a whole lot of symbolism, if you do not look for it you will see what could be understood as both a love triangle and a poly relationship. Very short, very sweet , very different than anything I have ever seen before.
I enjoyed seeing a young Yoon Park. I am not really sure I actually enjoyed this but as I said it is just something different, and that is worth a lot!

Kiss of not so much sense , but still entertaining

This is just my type of drama, it mixes genres just the way I like it romance, super powers (ish), cold leads, bossy...

There is one character that was a bit to much from start to finish but other than that I would say I enjoyed binging from start to episode 11, after that this drama went all Hometown Cha Cha Cha on me taking previously sensible and interesting characters and just ruining them completely in the name of something that could be considered a spoiler so I will spare you.

The second male lead, was an interesting man he is supposed to be made to be some kind of saint but I am not buying it. He was a lot of fun to watch but seemed like a narcissist in disguise the type who will not respect your boundaries at all and will make a movie out of every single one of your secrets.

The second female lead was pretty much a stalker, and much like the second male lead completely lacked respect for others boundaries. She was a little bit over the top but I found myself enjoying her scenes, just as long as I could use the mute button whenever she cried. .

The mom and second couple were also lovely, Tae In Ho did not played the cutest guy ever! AS this guy normally plays villains I found myself extremely impressed by this guys sweet side making me long for more of that. Please cast him as a Nice Male Lead!

I also enjoyed the way they showed enhanced senses as painful, I wish they would have worked on this a little bit more as there where a bunch of plot holes to his ability which is really such a shame.

So to conclude this review, there is a lot of good fun cliches done good in this. Do NOT expect things to make any sense, expect plot holes and expect annoying elements (especially towards the end). If you can live with all this you will get a decent OST, some pretty scenery and some pretty steamy scenes as well.

Repetitive

This was basically the first part but from the other guys perspective a slightly confusing time line and an added scene at or two at the ending. It is still basically two guys flirting but with more words but dare I say it less good acting but also less slow mo feel to it.

I think Film was better as a quiet guy... a shy guy the kind of guy who is mysterious and son on...

So basically after watching the second part I feel like lowering the score of the first part, however I won't and I will probably go watch the behind the scenes too...

But to be honest I have no clue why I am doing this, like at all....

My Bickering Couple

I love the female lead, and the friends are pretty good... the second male lead had a lot of moments and the male lead has his ups and downs but there is a lot of draaaaag, and I have a bunch of issues with the plot, like a lot of issues with the plot making this drama kind of hard to rate as some parts (especially the female lead) deserve a 10 while others a 2.

So what we have here is the story about the smart boy who used to binge eat a lot and the sporty girl who never studied... Showing us how people are judged based on their grades and looks. Some of this was actually done really well, even showing the very rare fear of eating that can come to those with eating disorders triggered by weight loss. However most of the way this is handled feels off and not very accepting towards people with body fat, even if it seams like they try to say you are valid just the way you are...

The main couple fights about 99% of the time bringing new meaning to the term bickering couple, they do have a lot of fun and sweet moments between the bickering that I did appreciate. However the male lead has a bit of a whiney nature and tone to him so at one point I started finding him annoying and once we passed that point there was really no turning back even if he di have a killer smile and great chemistry and I dare say tension between him and the female lead . The way his character character was written was just not male lead material I guess.... Unlike the female lead who is lovable though and tough she admits to her shortcomings, is strong, fun, caring... and has some of the best parants in all of dramaland as well as a really cute dog.
I also get the feeling that they try to mix in some representation of people outside the able bodied norm but it is done in the worst possible way... using people with disabilities and illnesses as a way to excuse bad behaviour which almost made me drop this drama, if it wern´t for the great parants, two amazing teachers, friendships and awesome female lead and her chemistry with the male lead I would indeed have dropped it

So what can I say it is mostly a good watch but beware there are a bunch of issues with the plot so not expect to be enlightened by the story...

Just Your Typical Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla Movie

It is what it is... and well you get what you signed up for a bunch of cliches, a mediocre story but great chemistry an easy watch and puppy eyes.

As the hows of us tell the story of the failed musician who may be good at writing lyrics and debating stuff but completely forgets how to use words when he actually needs them. And the women who tried so hard to make things work that she ended up completely exhausted, and without a diploma.

Though a bunch of flash backs here and there ewe get to see bickering, slight stalking, lovely umbrellas and the making of a disastrous relationship, it's good times, it's bad times all the way to We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together (Taylor Swift song not included). To wait will they get back together? or can they at leas be friends type of deal.

There is little to know consistency in this drama and the details are a bit off but when you are in the mood for a Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla movie with it's usual stuff this is a decent place to get it. As it is a movie you watch for those two and pretty much nothing else...

Life, Lust, Cancer an a whole lot of bad relationships

There may be a gay relationship in this drama but this is definitely not a romance, or a very pleasurable watch it is more of an artistic, raw depiction of relationships, cancer and figuring out life around it.

To be honest some of the editing will make your head spin being a little bit too artistic and the nudity is pretty much in your face with a lot of heavy breathing and sexual content this is not the typical movie about cancer, having it start of with in loving memory of the writer of it makes it feel just a little bit more real as you know there will not really be a happy well anything in this.

Though there are a few moments of love and support (very few) most of this movie is pain, being taken advantage of and more pain. I love how they show us that contrary to what people often believe or is shown in other movies getting diagnosed with cancer does not automatically cure the broken relationships of the past. This movie even had me thinking who the h*** wrote loving memory when nobody around him seems to care.

Turning this otherwise oddly paced, a bit to artistic feel to it movie in to something worth so much more than most movies out there that show illness. Making me want to recommend it to any one in the mature audience as it has some pretty extreme shots of both sexual content and other situations that are definitely not appropriate to watch without proper guidance of a mature adult. As it is 18 + for a bunch of reasons.

There are also a bunch of pretty shots of scenery and some beautiful artistic nudity too, as not all are raw and in your face... + it does seem to show life with a stoma in a sad but beautiful way.

So watch this for its story when you are up for an artistic yet probably realistic depiction of Life, Lust, Cancer... And a whole lot of bad relationships.

P.S: What takes away points it the too artistic at times, a bit too much nudity and the odd pacing.

Social Media Monolog Montage

This is the story of 20 years of communication development shown though the lives of 5 boys who grew up in a small city from sending letters, to MSN, Line, Facebook and what not...

The story it self is pretty decent and so are most of the characters, complex human being with difficulty a whole lot of angst and emotions. Just like media they go through phases and make som odd turns in beta before they move on. Most of the characters are lovable most of the time, and have a nice interesting story to tell however the story is cut short by filling it with never ending almost sermon type monologues and montages everywhere... taking away from the plot and ruining both the pace and depth this slice of life could have had. As those + time skips and hops back and forth take away from this really good core.

Most of the mains acting is really good, emotions are delivered well and speaking without words was truly well done. However some of the side characters delivery of monolog felt rehearsed and got boring... the leads monologs too did I mention there are a lot of monologs? But what takes the cake from this drama that I wanted to rate higher was the awful wigs and random use of time references... done so bad it wiped out so much of the good in this.

The drama it self is bingeable, and I truly appreciate seeing this type of story with this cast so I want to recommend it, but warn people of the time mess, monologs and under developed plot lines that could have been so much more.

Oh and yes there. is a lot of remembering maybe to much remembering...

Sweet and Awkward...

This is the story about the boy (ok man) who was hung up on being cute, the office he worked in and the awkward girl he got close too by fate... + himself 30 years later.

The boys wish to hold on to his cuteness serves as criticism towards the profitably of the youth preservation market as well as shows how cuteness and so called good looks give a bunch of perks but besides not lasting also have some down sides to the, Cute people are people to... Basically what feminists have been talking about for years now shown though what one may call gender role reversal... without actually using those words. He may be a bit vain and obsessed with his looks but he is also a total warm sweetheart, insecure, jealous, and the type that makes you go ooooh how cute... about 80% of the time.

The female lead a typical icicle, awkward, stiff. and just my type. I love her, I love their interactions and how straight forward she is.

The side character are a bit to much for me, they had their good parts too and are defiantly not the worst or most extreme I have seen. but they are just not my cup of coffee however those who love the typical Japanese over the top comedy side characters will probably fall for these too.

There are a few unnecessary misunderstandings that take away from the fluff, but not too much of it. The kissing scenes are more ooh how cute slightly awkward than passionate. The male lead also seems to be respectful and have some kind of understanding of the concept of consent.

The overall message also seems decent.

Definitely an easy to binge , lovely fluffy drama that I recommend to those who want something sweet.

Toothache Sweet wWith a Dentist on Top

So Sweet it will give you a toothache... or maybe it is more like make you want to go to the dentist... However this drama is actually nothing special it has some trauma here and there, decent pace, some romance some minor drama, a bunch of insecurities... And a few tropes I enjoyed and some I enjoyed a bit less.

The dentist male lead is a lovely slightly cold but also straight forward and the type to use words while still staying cold.

The Restaurant owner male lead is a bit childish at times, in a mostly cute way, he is bubbly, kind and an overall interesting character though I am not an expert his portrayal of trauma management feels a bit off...

Having a lot of scenes at the dentists office with teeth is not really my thing as I do not enjoy needless or looking in to peoples mouthes so I found myself looking away more often then in a drama with gore in it so be warned.

There are no annoying characters in this drama, a bunch of good friendships and found family. However yet another BL with mature adults that included a couple with a person who is legally an adult but who has not really passed puberty felt unnecessary the characters where good enough as they where.

Other then that there are some nice food shots, lovely hoodies and great scenes shot in the rain... So though it may not be a masterpiece it is highly bingeable, sweet and definitely worth a watch.

Spiked rose water with a dash of sun...

I beg your pardon... I never promised you a rose garden... However it is pretty much what you will get here, pretty flowers with thorns that dry up in the heat... Or something like that... there are at least a lot of roses. This drama is not good, it is not bad it is not mediocre, but it will grab your attention and once you get in to it becomes extremely addictive and highly entertaining... Like some kind of rose drug...

The amount of annoying elements, things that make 0 sense, overacting and characters you wish where dead is huge as you will probably want to punch all but maybe 3 of the cast at one point or another. The leads take turns at being the character you want to punch, the one you want to hug ,send to prison... The male leas has more red flags than the red flag campaign (yes there is such a thing). But they are both mostly smart, and interesting to watch plus heir chemistry, bickering, mood-swings is just lovely, they are extremely charming and they are indeed both very nice to look at. But again this must come with a warning do not do this at home, do not set this up as relationship goals...

The story has a few very predictable twists and others that I would not say took me by surprise but where not as predictable as the rest. The amount of cliches is almost overwhelming, luckily I love cliches but if you do not then this drama is definitely not for you. The scenery is also very lovely. The editing is a bit off, the acting varies in quality and though the music is a bit repetitive it is very catchy and could be one of this dramas biggest spoilers telling you who are supposed to be the villains, who are supposed to fall in love etc...

All in all a highly addictive fun to watch drama for those who do not really care about quality and can live with a bunch of annoying characters you will want to strangle.

I felt something therefore I scored it highly.... Probably too highly...

This is the story of the very innocent girl who got lured in to the miss understood bad boys bed and well after that life went all bananas. The acting is kind of off, the story predictable and packed with a bunch of cliches but honestly this movie is from 2007 so it actually came before all those other movies and dramas I have seen with similar plot lines so I really should not complain and I am pretty sure that MEME (thai writer) has seen this movie a long side a bunch of K-drama writers and of course a few J-drama writers too...

The first half of this movie was a bit like a rocket launch fast paced and had me thinking over and over again well that escalated quickly.... Just for the rocket to run out of fuel about 30,000 km up and fall in super speed right to the ground... Still pretty faset paced but all goes to ****. So basically In a short period of time we experience a lot of more or less interesting situations. Do they handle any of them remotely well? Probably not? But at least something happens...

And even if I did not fall in love with the characters acting skills there was something that got to me... If you are the type easily prone to tears you may cry in this. For me it was just light fog at the corner of my eye. But I can definitely se people crying while. watching this.

So if you are looking for the beloved guilty pleasure of bad boy takes good girl and turns her bad, or just looking for a bunch of fluff... You may just wanna look somewhere else but if you can handle a bit of everything and want to see soemthing pre smart phones this is definitely a decent place to find it.
