Don´t lie to your kids

Well this was 3 minutes of hope turned to sadness... in this very sweet and oddly touching commercial/assay of a child showing several sides to unemployment, struggles and parenthood, trying to protect ones children from the hardships one goes through but apparently kids know, who would have thought ;)

These are 3 minutes of montages of fatherhood and temp work/struggles accompanied by a child's voice (in english).

Definitely worth 3 minutes of your time, though it is indeed a very good commercial.

8 minutes of cuteness

"You do not have to change yourself if it is the right one" you just have to use this spray to get rid of your acne...

This is short (duh), sweet and fun without becoming to pathetic, (hopefully) reminding viewers that there is no one way to be gay and that it is not to be used as s slur. As well as the importance of using skin products. Basically the perfect cleanser between shows to suit all your sweetness needs. Yes this is indeed a commercial, a very good one at that.

So if you have 8 minutes to spare why not spend them watching this?

Heart fluttering music making, waisted potential and characters you may want to shove of a roof

This is a show that has you wondering how many set backs are too many? How many times can a girl crash down before she gives up her dreams? When is the right time to let go? how self centred can a girl get before her friends kick her out? and how much wrong can men do and still get away with it?

To be honest I would have dropped this after the first episode if someone (Kate here on MDL) had not told me that the first two episodes are really bad but once you pass them it gets really interesting, and that is true once you pass the first two episodes this drama does indeed get very interesting.

Basically it is a show about what happens when you take a bunch of broken girls who used to have a dream, and try to crush that dream over and over again? Well they go all self destructive and more or less give up, feel a lot of regret and wish they would have spent their youth doing something better... some also shift blame.

But then there is Jenna who adapts, saves her friends, gets pushed down, saves them again and ultimately crashes at rock bottom where she would probably have remained if someone had not given her a slither of hope and taken it away pushing her over that limit beyond rock bottom and over to crazy side. Jenna is this super human who lets us see both her weaknesses as well as her fight power and boy does this girl have some fighting power... What I love about her is her way of learning from her mistakes, and seeing beyond here and now... Looking back at the past she can see what went wrong and instead of getting blinded by anger, hate or shifting blame she actually does this really rare thing and takes responsibility as well as finding solution to not only her own but also her friends problems.... Giving us countless scenes of power, friendship, fighting spirit and tears.. and when I say tear I mean a lot of tears.. so many tears that I had to turn of the sound for this drama as Jenna cries relatively quietly her friends cry louder...

There is a lot of good to say about this drama, the story does seem to show a lot of realistic problems that face people in the ido l/music industry and young women in society, as well as shows a lot of heart-fluttering music making, work relationships some that could easily outshine a lot of romances.

However none of these problems and relationships are explored or offered realistic solutions, to be clear they do offer some kind of solutions to most of the problems, but they do not match the rest of the real slice of life, slice of darkness feel to the drama...

The acting and chemistry between the different characters is inconsistent while some are great others are just not convincing at all. The twists may not always be super predictable from the first episodes but never ever come as surprise (at least not for me), The main thing to make drag down the score from a 9 or 10 is the youngest member of the group called Oh Hyun Ji her character is so annoying, inconsistent and loud that I again had to shut of the sound... the girl does have some lovable moments but overall I wish they would have given all her screen time to others, literally anybody else would do, preferably the CEO, manly Idol and Jenna but a cat, a sign, a singing hot dog would do.

There is a lot of underdeveloped potential in this story, its like they give us teasers without fully delivering and though there are a bunch of heart fluttering moments, and a clear ending yet I find myself left unsatisfied with a lot... That Said I did enjoy the drama, and do recommend it , had it not been for those annoying characters, and just a little bit too many unnecessary turns of events... it could easily have been a 9 or a 10. So I guess this drama recommendation/review comes with a warning:

Do not get your hopes up, be were of the annoying elements and do not be afraid to mute the screen.

But if you do like dramas about idols, music and fighting spirit this is a good place to find it,

What a difference a day makes...

This movie starts off a bit meeh, with some questionable slightly low humour, meeh quality, meeh characters... yep meeh indeed.

But then comes the male lead, who is charming, fun, oddly relatable and that actually takes medicine for his illness and has bruises, symptoms, and though he does have some mood swings his decisions, worries, and reactions make a lot of sense. He also has a lovely sense of humour which is obviously his way of dealing with his illness.

The female lead was annoying at first but she grew on me, she is a bit impulsive, but also fun and her chemistry with the male lead is pretty decent.

There are perts that seem can seem to glorify suicide and death by renaming it being taken by aliens, and though I do think they take the subject a bit to lightly, they do shed light on som pretty big problems in society, and deal with loss, pain, loneliness, guilt of being a burden on your family and even squeeze in a crappy biological father.

Though the filming and well everything in the begging was bit meeh, the scenery and situations towards the end were really pretty, and though I did have to turn off my brain at times I did end up actually wanted to see more of these two.

P.s. I even shed a tear or two in this, so they managed to get to me though the meeh

Zero to Hero to Zero to Hero and so on...

This movie is based on a true story, and though we can not know how true every element is, the story does come off as believable, at times a bit sad other times uplifting and so on, focusing more on the process than the actual Zero and Hero part

What I like about this story is that it is not afraid to confront the use of people with disabilities to inspire able bodied people... with a whole lot of if he can so should you and so on as there is quite a bit of criticism towards the add industry and how Paralympic athletes are treated. Along side the day to day life and importance becoming a hero has for the athlete with a disability for as as long as they can classify as heroes they will not be treated as badly as other people with disabilities. Do not get them wrong they still get treated as stereotypes, get controlled and risk being used by others to add on the stereotyping of people with disabilities. But at least they have a chance at making a living.

I also like how they show the people in this movie as humans, both the able bodied and disabled people portrayed here are not made to look neither overly pathetic or too heroic. The brother who was brought to the world just to take care of his brother does not just accept his destiny and shows that having a brother with a disability is not always fun and games either.

However there is something about the way it was edited that seemed at times to speak agains itself, on the one hand saying do not use people with disabilities as inspirational crap, but also please look at this montage with violins and mix in the real guy this is based on to try to get the viewers to feel a bunch of emotions which kind of put me off.

To sum it up a pretty good movie, not without its problems but defiantly a movie worth watching.

Kisses....

This is the story of the guy who had a girlfriend but kissed a boy and he liked it... More precisely he kissed a very drunk boy, who was so drunk he thought he was kissing someone else... But that does not really matter as he quickly got over the first unattainable guy to fall for the guy with the girlfriend.

And well that is how the story goes people kiss people they should not be kissing, they get caught in one way or another, regret kissing whom ever they should not have been kissing... people break, up people get back together and some vlogger reports more or less factual details about them...

The guy with the girlfriend is very possessive and self admittedly jealous, not of his girlfriend but of the guy he kissed. The guy who got kissed is sweet as a button.

There is not much substance or plot to this show and honestly it feels very oddly cut, and it feels like some parts went missing, However it was entertaining enough for me to be curious about "Love Mechanics"

A lovely mix of fluffy ingredients

This is such a feel good dose of cheese, sweetness and fluff... There may not be a lot of substance, and there are som episodes that where a bit more meeh than others and one episode even got on my nerves but over all these guys deliver enough to satisfy whatever need of fluff you may have. As this drama shows us them with a baby, a cat, chocolate, mixes in a little bit of music, jealousy, friendship and just about everything fun to watch.

The boys have great chemistry and are the definition of "you complete me" type of deal. Both with humour, smiles and lots, and lots of cooking.

when I started it I felt that I wanted to savour it for a long, long time, but my curiosity got the best of me and I ended up watching it a bit faster than I planned. But Why savour when you can just rewatch episodes of clips whenever you need some fluff?

This is in no way a high quality masterpiece, and is very much a commercial done right. Do not expect greatness just because I gave it a 9, the 9 is solely based on entertainment value and fluff! The type to make you fall for both Jeff and Gameplay (if you have not already).

Sweet as Ho(r)ney

This is a short drama overflowing with honey, insecurities, smiles, fluff and what may be a record in speed and sexscenes...

As the couple gets married on the first date, this is anything but a marriage of convenience. this is the type of drama you watch for the fluff, it´s kissing scenes, the pure inner monologs etc. As we get to know the reason the female lead decides to go for a spur of the moment wedding, we are kept on our toes wondering... As they seem to be playing with common tropes, we feel like we should know what is up a head but the viewers , much like the female lead are bound to have trust issues.
Can a man be this cute? Is he just playing with her? Is he just using marriage as a fast way to get girls in bed? are these red or white flags we are witnessing? Why the *** did this guy want to merry her? did he stalk her pre wedding? Is this just the result of a bet? seriously why would a seemingly perfect guy want to marry the first gal he sees?

Both leads have smiles that are huge and reach out through the screen as they use their whole face to smile, and win the audience over. The female leads insecurities can be a bit over whelming at times however she does come of as popular, kind, charming competent and in no way week. The male lead is mysterious, kind?, the type who does not force himself on the female lead he rather waits for her to not only love him but long for him and show her desires, all done in a rater playful slightly cunning way. This guy shows the audience that there are men that no matter how horny they may be they can actually read their partners signals and listen to this, wait to pick up the mood another day... as well as show the ability to take responsibility and rather practice safe sex than do something they may regret. All things that seemed almost too good to be true for a drama.

The side characters are true supporting characters there to move the plot along, add slight spark and drama... Without being annoying or overbearing.

This is definitely a good dose of honey and spice, to up your thirst and make you feel all gooey inside.

Depressing and messy

I am honestly trying to grasp what I actually watched, I do not really know what I was expecting and am not really sure what I got as the story seems a bit oddly cut and left a whole lot of blanks for the viewers to fill in on their own and they go back and fourth in time have and have a lot of quiet thought. Honestly rather they are deep in conversation or completely silent... though the issues are relatable I find it hard to connect to the story, the acting is inconsistent, sometimes it is mind-blowing other times I am not sure if it is the dialog, the sound or the action but it feels forced in a way and comes of very unnatural.

The whole movie loses depression and darkness as it should considering it's subject, there're some good and interesting lines about who to blame in the event of a sueside others about dealing with an inevitable death near by... Unfortunately these were cut short and could have been done better, but they do get points for actually showing this and attempting to approach this not so very happy subject.

All in all an ok watch, not very entertaining and kind of lacking but it has something in it that still makes it worth a watch, I just can not really put my finger on what it is, maybe you will? O r I may just have to watch it again to understand it. However it was not very entertaining so I probably won't (actually I did re-watch a few scenes just to check if I missed something, I didn't)

Sweet and Dark

This is a good movie, both quality. story and entertainment wise... Slightly painful to watch this movie takes us on a journey of hardship and romance with a fluffy dog to ease the pain...

What Liked more...
Great acting, good story, cute dog+ lovable mains, no annoying characters, people with disabilities portrayed as human beings worthy of love and not just a walking inspirational story... Complex mains with lots of character development, chemistry between the leads... Good balance of sweet and dark scenes. The way it incorporated issues facing woman and people with disabilities without it taking over the main focus but rather added and acted as an accelerator for it. The very human non super human the mains are.

What I liked less...
Somewhat predictable twists, though I did not know what was going to go happen at one point it was very clear that X was going to happen at a certain point in time, just not exactly how it would happen.

I did not cry but I can see where many people would cry while watching this movie and is certainly a movie worth watching!

Kid's do not do stupid s***, also there will not be a Dimond, so do not look for it.

To be honest this started off a bit boring and is one of those movies that seems to spoil itself... it was not really that the pace was slow or anything wrong with the start it was just kind of cliche with the slight difference that the lead was not very lovable which I kind of liked...

"That boy is going to make something of himself" did however not age well unless death row is making something of ones self... which it kind of is, so maybe I will take this back and just say... pay attention to those words... and think about what they can do to a person...

However as the story goes on it does get more and more interesting and actually does manage to bring a tear or two to my eye, even if it has highly predictable twists, they are done pretty well. With quite a few touching scenes it also shows complicated family ties and the difference between the friendships that build you and those who destroy you...

I guess the lessons here are pretty ok...

The scenery is pretty, the acting is good the OST is just full of violins... and not much more.

However this feels real in a way many similar movies and dramas do not...

Definitely a movie worth watching if you just get passed that first not so mind-blowing half...

Hot and Spicey Cotton Candy...

This drama is like just like I view Park Bo Young so sweet, spicy, cute, sweet, cute, fun,...

Bong Soon is the ultimate Hot and Spicy Cotton Candy. and this is one of my all time favorite dramas. who happens to have the scene that inspired my username. to be honest some of the humor is a bit low, there are some scenes that on their own may be questionable but if you try to look at this dram as a whole you may just find it quite progressive and that the humor you may have found slightly questionable at times when put in to the context of the whole drama is actually not that bad and does get addressed in one way or another depending on what you look at, and how you understand it...

Sorry If I sound vague and complicate things but once you watch it,you may understand what I am trying to say..

What I love about this drama is the chemistry between the leads and the way this couple interacts and shows respect towards each other giving us some of Dramalands sweetest scenes. I also love the many, many contrasts shown in this drama, soft hard, sweet strong, funny-serious issue... The fighting scenes here are just so cute and bad ass at the same time. And I love how they show how society's norm restrict women from showing strength but also how the many, many men in this drama are portrayed differently making way for both macho, evil, vulnerable, understanding and kind..

I love this drama so much that few articles feel complete without it... It may not actually be that great if looked upon with an objective eye To be honest there are some scenes that are ok to skip and should probably lesson the score but those two leads make up for every one of those scenes making this a dram I would gladly rate higher if I could, yest the main couple is just that adorable...And it just makes me feel all fuzzy inside (even though it has some pretty dark scenes)... Making it one of the most memorable dramas in Dreamland and the second most popular k-drama for a reason, if you ask me it is a lot more entertaining them the number one drama...

So if you by chance have not watched it yet then just go for it... And if you have already seen it why not watch it again?

Fun, fluffy, film...

This movie is a pretty ok, nothing special really, but it has some pretty good stories, that I wish would have gotten a movie each instead of had to share it...

The different couples in this movie show different sides of life and have almost nothing in common, yet do share several connections (other than geography).

Most of the characters in this movie are relatable, sweet, fun and lovable... Some slightly annoying and we there are some pretty evil ones too... but they are just a small part of the whole.

We have one couple that shows us both the less beutiful and more beautiful side of divorce and domestic abuse.

Another one who teach us the value of communication and sharing ones troubles with ones spouse

A third Showing the pain of burn out and trying to find ones way back...

But my favorite couple was the one with the paralympics athlete who is treated as a disability there to inspire and sell emotional porn that focuses more on the girlfriend than his achievements...

Making this a pretty fluffy dare I say healing movie (even though I hate that word) worth a watch

A colorful and beautiful way to say goodbye

This drama is both sweet, colorful, fluffy, painful, odd and aggravating and well kind of off at times. What I love about this drama is how they portray the person behind the illness as a competent human being, with desires, ambitions, interest and a lot of love to give. Though he may be a little but to positive while facing death he is a pretty fun guy and a great male lead with chemistry out of this world with the female lead doing the whole enemies, to friends to lovers right!

I also love how they take this pretty painful subject of fighting a disease and make it fluffy, sweet and colorful rom-com with a ll a romcom can entail... just a side of waiting for death...

However as a person who has experienced waiting for a heart I can say that the details seem very off... and yes they do bother me at times, but for those who have never been there I am sure you will be fine... I am not either a fan of the many religious connotations in the drama (It got to be to much). The drama also shows the economical aspect to necessary treatment, it almost felt absurd how they kept talking about the cost of heart transplant... " are you sure you can afford it" but the truth is many people can not afford much needed treatment and in loss of better words it sucks big time...

The saying good bye part is brilliant, fluffy and sweet, not very realistic but oooh so sweet!

This drama really has a little bit of everything with mostly lovable characters, no annoying characters (bu some aggravating in the right way) and had me feeling a lot of emotions in 8 short episodes. Just be where of the religious stuff...

Colorful mix of rom com and dementia

This may have started off as a colourful disney type of hate to love typical rom com... The one that has a dash of sound of music just that instead of a nanny for the kids there is a need for a caregiver for the grandma with dementia... Rich slightly mean icicle gets his heart melted by poor beautiful caregiver... with dance, music and candles...

But then it dove in to full on deep, deep drama... still colorful but with a lot of drama that became more and more complicated as the story went on, nothing groundbreaking or brilliant but entertaining enough and easy to binge.

The female lead is such a burst of polka dot color, sweeter than sweet, kinder than kind, smart, forward ambitious...
The side characters are lovely (acting skills verie) but most o them are sweet, fun and show 0 signs of being overly anything.

So this may not be a masterpiece but it is easy to watch and well that should do it...
