Is it Love? or is it just an addiction?
So this is a story about the extremely impulsive chef, who pretty much forgets all decency to cling on to the object of his obsession and the person, who forgot about herself and became that object... until she finally realised being that object is not really good for her. However as addcitions go, once tempted it is a little bit to easy to relapse...
Either that or it is a story about true love, second chances, holding on no matter what.... Love will find a way... What once was broken can be fixed.
Or maybe it is both?
A thing this movie does pretty well is show that love is not always enough, and that there is indeed a love that brings both down when it should be making you stronger and better.
I am not relally sure if they ever get to showing love at all or if we just get to witness a bunch of people with obsession... But somehow these people seem to call it love.
That said, it kept my attention, leads and friends in this are mostly charming, the kisses are decent and the food and scenery is lovely.

Dr, just take his soul already...
this is one of those dramas that had me roling my eyes over and over again...The Dr. male lead is a childish little kod (both young and not as young), lacks all sense of responsibility, is impulsive, has awful mimics and needs a lesson or ten in acting. The most impressive part about his guy was his healing ability as there was not a single sign of previous illness or operation. His skin was as smooth as it gets.
The Grim Reaper on the other hand had a scar, no where one would would predict, but stil I did spot one. This guy can act, has geeat mimics. IS such a sweaty and probably one of the reason s I did not drop it. The two do share some pretty decent phisical moments and more of a eat the fish than dead fish type of kisses.
The Dr.female best friend, the other grim reaper and the nurse where also top characters, fun to watch, sweet, human (ok not all human) loving, fun.
The rest of the cast was ok I guess.
The plot was under developed, full of holes and while I did appreciate the idea of a person who has a recycled organ portrayed as a person I just couldn't care less about the plot whatever that plot was other then the ocational roll of eyes it just dod not get to me at all.
Nothing I recommend, but if you do watch it you could just skip most of the scenes with the dr. male lead and go for the rest.

Trash
Reading the description of this series you know this is going to be bad.And indeed this series delivers as it is so bad, it is entertaining, but oh so bad. the dialog is awful, the lighting hideous, the sound and subs where also terrible.
The leads where actually not so bad... And the kid was actually both cute and a better actor than most of the adults.
But oh the lighting, the running in the dark, watersplash, watching this you find yourself wondering how bad it will get, can it get any worse?
And well the answer is yes it can.

Preachy Paths and Ideals
This is a story about an overly protective and competative dude with some kind of big brother complex who keeps on protecting people who do not want to be protected leaving them with deep grounded inferiority complexes....In a display of choices... teaching us to avoid shortcuts as justice and the clear conscious will lead to glory not only for one self but for the motherland... Praise camaraderie. When one door closes another will open so there are plenty of ways to serve your country by being an antrepanewer... also power corrupts so stay away from power... At times making me fear that if I keep watching I may loose all affections towards Xiao Zhan.
It starts off kind of cute, a bit to many fights and oops I stabbed a guy scenes here and there... but by the middle I honestly started to get annoyed by every single character in the drama. Then the drama took a turn and got slighlty more interesting yet still kept me wondering why they keep trusting people as well as seem to ignore the wife beater in front of them...
But I made it till the end and got to see 3 seconds of a sweet moment between the leads.... Some more protect our country and mistakes made, forgivenes given... mistakes made again.
That said there are some moments that are enjoyable and the idea of found family and surviving hardships is kind of sweet so I settled for a kind 6,5.

Choices
This is essentially a story about choices and consciousness.A slightly different less dramatic more realistic portrayal of the path towards fatherhood, where does the sea begin, when does fatherhood begin and what is the right thing to do?
A display of choices, some tougher than others, as life is indeed complicated. Self sacrifice vs. compromise and at the end of the day what is truly best for the child?
While the drama does have some moments that have me questioning the agenda of the drama, some moments pf cringe,, as well as some small issues here and there, the over all feel to this drama is that it is a good story and pretty much as far from mainstream storytelling as it gets. A story that considers several voices, angels and truly digs deep in to the concept of parenthood and the right to choose. Well portrayed, well casted the type of story that will have you feel stuff, click on that next episode button and wish them all the best.
Making me accept the parts that had me wondering as a portrayal of life..
There are few drmas with as many self aware, lovely characters in this are lovely, especially the fathers (even the so called bad fathers) and the kid.
A drama that is defiantly worth more attention, and worthy of any slice of life drama lovers time.

This was fine
This is one of those stories that I feel like I have seen before but done better. Bubbly crowd pleaser meets mr ambitious... while I really did enjoy both bubbly and ambishus as well as some of the side characters I could ot really connect with this making me feel ok this was fine.Fine is good enough, fine is not bad, fine is still highly bingable but it is also something that just did not captivate me enough to keep my attention, making me check stuff on my phone followed by rewinding a bit just to think oh, I didn't miss anything spectacular, actually I did see this just thought it mite have been more... oh well back to watching. I am sure i am still missing something that would make this stand out, but I just didn't find it.
That said I am old, I have a cold so I am probably not the target audience anyway...

Sweet n slightly emotional
This drama has a bunch of things I have seen before, maybe not this exact combination, and maybe not the usual clicehs of rich spoiled brat meets poor hotel receptionist in a foreign country. However I would be lying if I said I was surprised by any of the twist the lied a head. That said the chemistry was good, the acting fine the side character few but lovely and the scenery was pretty all in all giving me give or take 110 minutes of entertainment and emotions.
Defiantly time well spent, in my case int the passenger seat of a car, but I am sure it would be just as well spent time on the couch or in bed.

Hard to write about
This is a movie that is hard to rate and hard to review, leaving me without words for the first time since I started writing reviews. One could think that that should stop me from writing a review, and it almost did but that alone makes it worthy of a review.
So what can I say, the movie has a pretty decent approach to puppy love at the twilight moments of teens lives. Combining art, youth, and lots and lots of Garberas colorful moments in the hospital gray... Showing people with terminal illnesses with drams, wishes and I guess more than just people waiting for a cure... With lots of moments of color and fun.
As well as shows the value of normalsy... So I guess I did manage to find some words in the end.

Cute
This is one of those dramas that you start watching and before you know it you are smiling from ear to ear.... Something happens and boom you have binged it and it is already over. The main couple is awkwerdly cute, the supporting characters are so adorable you may find yourself wanting to open a home for abandoned kids or i case you had horrible parants wish you would have gotten to grow up there...
There is some drama and moments of come on, but over all this is an easy watch that will make you feel all warm inside.

BStay by the kids side... as he is not really capable of taking care of himself.
This is the story of the little boy that was timid, scared, childish and all things annoying who got entangled with mr ice face, smart, fun, caring, hard working and interesting and somehow got the dude to fall in live...Is the damzal in distrss syndrom, was the cold guy just looking for any kind of affection or was it it really true love=
I honestly do not know, but there is not one single scenen in this that explains whay mr cold male lead melts...
That said the peole around them are fun, the kisses are more the type I will devouer you than dead fish and there is both lack of chapstick and scenes where it looks like the leads visited a lip gloss factory...
An okay watch for the other characters just mind the annoying main lead.

Here we meet a bunch of immature possessive men and satellites
This is another one of those dramas with great potential brought down by praise China and low expectations, or is it something else for men... To the men out there reading this, I believe you can control you impulses, fists and lips! You can do it! Yes you can!Seriously if I where a man I would be offended by how they portrya even the so called good guys/ male lead as immature, impulsive extremely insecure and immature along side being another male god. To be clear the actor did an amazing job with what he got and there are moments of fluff, fireworks and what not. Toxic, and I counted at least 3 times the guy pretty much forced aggressive (some would say passionate) kisses as a show of possessiveness/act of jealousy on our female lead..
which brings us to our female lead on the other hand is really cool, kind, smart awesome, and while she does actually seem to react to the male leads behaviour she also shows us how easy it is to get trapped by this. So had this been a thriller type drama with say 15 episodes this would have mede an easy 10.
Unfortunately it is supposed to be a romance, and while I did enjoy some moments between our couples, as well as the occasional flirting and buttoned down shirt. The never endin praise china, aggressiveness, lack of communication and endless self sacrifice ruined the romance and had me spinning pokestops to stay awake.
That said characters are fun, friendships sweet and the actors are good at their job, all keeping this from getting a lower score and helping me stick with it till the end.
P:S the professor was the only character on this show that I fully juist found annoying and did not ad a single thing to the plot.

Decent story, could have been executed a bit better
This was in many ways a very beautiful story, or should i say two parallel stories one we know will end with our male lead dyeing. The other a story of youth, young romance and healing of not the worst kind but still healing. While the time line is all mixed up, the uniforms make sure to keep us from getting confused however once the flashbacks turn in to some kind of talking to a memory the cringe takes over and I found myself rolling my eyes taking a deep breath and just exhaling in frustration.
The overall message is pretty good though and it does not take the issue of suicide or the self guilt afterwords lightly at all which should have upped the score but there where a few to many details that I just could not ignore while setting the score for this.
The acting varies between good and meeh, As Seo Ji Hoon and So Ju Yeons acting is noticably better than the rest of the leading cast. That said the teens are lovely most of the time and there is this little cute gay side couple that share a yellow umbrella in the most subtle but sweet way.
An okay watch, easy to binge as it has short episodes and a decent pacing with the plot.
One more thing the casting of the younger brother was waaay off,
Seo Ji Hoon and Kim Min Kyu look nothing like each other, and do not share the same mimics and can bearaly pass as brothers not to mention look just like his brother... These two are litteraly the guys to disproveonce and for all those ignorant people who say "but they all look the same"

Fluff Meets a Mild Depression With Thoughts of Suicide
This drama has a whole lot of eye candy and fluff, but very little substance and makes. no sense what so ever. One moment it is light, the next dark and then light again but it is the same day... The decisions people make, lines of communication and plot development makes me wonder if the writer of this drama has been stuck at a cabin by the beach with no internet after experiencing amnesia as it is completely detached from reality.
That said, the drama is very pretty, there are a bunch of boys in this drama that seem to be purely there to be looked at or as fillers between censured parts... they have a guitar and I am pretty sure two of them are supposed to be gay but won´t tell us because of the usual Chinese censorship.
I also learned that dessert is a completely valid form of communication... a cold male lead may not be able to use words but if a picture can say 1000 words a dessert will convey 1000 emotions....
The female lead of this drama is really sweet and cute, besides the not making any sense I find both her and the male lead decent to watch. And so are the boys but there are alos a whole lot of annoying side characters and the ususal parants without bonderies... getting on my nerves more than once.
I also like that they try to show people coping with mental illness as capable human beings worthy of love even if they made this a bit to simple and again nothing actually made much sense and this storyline was kind of detached from reality... But still I feel that it is the thought that counts.
So what can I say, this is an okay watch just do not expect anything to make sense or any type of consistency in the characters.
P.s. there is a cute kid in here (who's storyline does not make any sense either)

Nostalgia, music and fluff with a side of cringe...
This could have been a 10 if only I would have loved the male leads character as much as I loved the rest of the characters in this really fun drama.A drama that has so much good to offer combining nostalgia, with the right to communicate/language, the world sucks (yet again), people with disabilities are human too and being a kid that is different from the rest of the family has it's problem's too... all surrounded by lovely teen spirit, love, music, friendships, and shining, glittery fluff... Just the look on a the young version of them moms face when she sees someone use sign language pretty much had me thinking ok this is it, I love it and it is now my favourite drama...
As I mentioned in the first line this could have been a 10 but then the cringe took over and offered me a few of my pet peeves showed up, I cant really complain about the acting of Ryeoun as Ha Eun Gyeol but his character was mostly fun in the beginning but got on my nerves more and more as the story progressed. His interactions and chemistry with Seol In Ah and
Choi Hyun Wook where however top, top, top. I have been impressed with Choi Hyun Wook for quite a while but this drama made me appreciate him even more as well as completely fall in love with Seol In Ah and Shin Eun Soo.
Definitely a drama I recommend to most, when in need of fluff, fun and more or less predictable twists (some more predictable than others). This drama is an easy binge that offers a little bit of everything and with the exceptions of a few moments of annoying the overall feel to this drama is I want more!
P.s. Rating by episode ep 1-2: 8, 2-14:10, 15-16:7,5 = 9, pretty much follow the male leads character progression and regression... but not only.

Vanilla ice cream with lips on top
This is a drama you watch for the lack of overly annoying characters and lips of Zhao Yi Qin who are covered with an endless amount of lipgloss and ride the thin line between to many close ups and just enough close ups... As this is indeed a male lead that communicates by touch of lip instead of words or wrist grabs. To be clear he still uses a wrist grab or two, it just not his main line of communication, and neither are words of any kind. Our female lead is pretty lovable, mostly friendly forward and may she may not be the god of intelligence she is not really stupid either. She is pretty strong, talented and has very few moments of pathetic.
Both leads are however extremely child like, the female lead in the way she dresses the male lead in the way he acts. There is not much of a story but some ok friendships, a nice representation of a happily married long time couple but also a bunch of really mistreated animals.
The leads acting is decent but some of the supporting roles seem to need to get an acting lesson or ten.
It is an ok watch when in need of fluff and pretty people and things to look at but otherwise it really is kind of bland... vanilla ice cream made by some person with a hang over who dropped the whole tub of sugar in to the mix without noticing.
