There is one thing you need to correct in your article. In law school, what the boyfriend recorded was how he…
Actually he recorded both consensual and non consensual acts, and basically everything done in her room without her consent And yes he did also rape her however as far as I remember it was not the point of this scene and I did not find it nessasery for the article to go into more details, but considering the amount of dramas and details I did dig up from my memory and looked up for this piece there are probably parts that I do not remember entirely correctly and for that I probably should have used a dissclaimer.

Thank you for this, nope I have not seen any of them but may just check some of them out! 😉 I especially liked "made me want to smash the screen " now that is what I call a clear opinion!

You’re so right that it is pretty rare for someone to ask beforehand in kdrama land. In Abyss she says “we…
That does sound cute, it has been a while since I saw it, so I had completely forgotten about it. Thank you for reminding me about it 😍

Thanks for writing this well done (and important) article! ♡ I think more people should ask themselves: would…
Thank you for appreciating it and thank you for your thoughts!

Unfortunately many people have been thru that, while some dramas can offer those comfort when those issues are tackled it can either be triggering or belittling for some when the behaviour is brushed off and accepted on screen.

I did not notice any problems with your English, and even if there would be I would rather ask if I do not understand than see people not commenting. Someone commented in a language I do not understand but google translate worked its magic so whatever language you choose I hope you keep writing your thoughts. ❤

Great Article 👌 But all I can say is that Lee Min-ho is definitely the flag-bearer of Clichéd Dramas. Be it…
Thank you for your thoughts! I actually enjoy the cliches and liked both the heirs and bof as entertainment, just not relationship goals... the big question is more how things are shown and how we the viewers react to it.

And yes I agree the ending in CLOY was a bit confusing...

Thank you so much! Oooh, I should have included those! I still need to watch Sky Castle, it's been on my PTW and…
It's always hard to draw the line... I am terrible at that... I hope you will enjoy Sky Castle if and when you do watch it, it starts off pretty slowly but explodes later like fireworks 🎆

I don't remember about the kisses or shades of consent of Her Private Life but I will still go on to praise it…
I do not remember exactly about the kisses there, but I do not think it raised any flags or anything, nor was it a may I kiss you type of thing if i remember it correctly it was in the woodshop. When it comes to To all the guys who loved me I could not get passed the second episode (not a big fan of the fl, sorry) but I did love her wedding to herself, so much I mentioned it in another article. He does sound like a keeper! 😉

well I am just stating an opinion ....you can just think about it ...or ignore it ...I don't mind and leave it…
1. I never claimed to represent the intentions, and our understanding of the situations as well as what can be behind them differs. In my world putting a hand on lips is a very clear way to say I am not interested, by kissing that hand he did kiss her without her consent, the fact that she changed her mind does not make that first act any different.

2. I said he interrupted it, not blocked, but that does not really matter , I do however get the feeling that you are purposely miss interpreting and nitpicking on my choices of words so this is as far as I am willing to try to clarify.

My writing is obviously not everyones cup of tea I respect that, and hope you find articles that you enjoy reading more.

1. First of all I am happy you found part 1 more meaningful, to be honest the focus in part one was more direct and pointed out the behavior to watch out for while watching C-dramas. I an sorry you found part 2 less meaningful and I hope it did not ruin your experience from part 1. Inow understand where my mistake was, though I thought I was clear about the tone of this part being different from the first one,

2. Second of all I loved most of the dramas in both part one and two but wanted to point out the behaviour not the dramas and open up the conversation about consent, not in any way ruin the experience of watching these. And I am sorry you feel disappointed.

3. I understand that you assume that dramas mentioned here are mentioned here as bad examples, then I would like to clarify that they are not. They are used to show a pallet and places where there can e issues regarding consent but not necessarily and as comparison. Part 0ne- behavior to watch out for part two- relatable portrayals of relationships etc. They are fundamentally different in both tone and use of dramas. that is why I did not really know how to reply to your comments.

So here is what I can say about Pinocchio- A very clear case of mixed messages, the hand is very clear with its no but the hiccups say yes, I firmly believe that it is better to have patients in this type of situation, not to risk anything and want to stress the right to a persons own body and to say no even if they want to kiss.
In this situation she did want to kiss and this situation as a whole was nice on film and did turn in to a consensual kiss.

I do explain that after a kiss one should check for affirmation, did the person kiss back or not

In real life there is no pinocchio and many people do cross other peoples boundaries so showing this gif made place for me to write about this type of situation not much more, put in the context of the other gifs and kisses where I explain about checking for affirmation it fills a purpose.

And here is what I have to say about WWWSK I love this couple (also the one Pinocchio) It i one of few dramas I have rewatched and I love the dynamics, the humor and chemistry. I do think he as whole does show respect towards her and does respect her boundaries later on in the show. We also get to know more and more about their relationship as the show progresses. However he does use his position to keep her close for 9 years giving him access to her, he does use his position to interrupt her blind date and to give him access to her, here she has little choice to say no that does effect her ability to consent to the amount of time has access to her, that is worth mentioning not as a buuuu this is a bad guy but as a this is worth noting. He also waited until she had decided to quit to start pursuing her so he is not one of those CEOs who use their position to force someone to be with them. If I gave that impression again I apologize and I do think that is made pretty clear in the text as well as on comparison to the examples in the green box and in my conclusions in the end.

I hope this made things clearer instead of confusing, and I do hope you will ask questions if something I write is not made clear in the future.

I really do not know how to answer you, I am pretty sure you made up your mind and have drawn your own conclusions about what I meant when I wrote about those kisses and seem to think I had a negativ attitude towards them, how about you try to read this with a more open attitude thinking positively about my intentions, you may just end up drawing a different conclusion. Good luck with that 🧐

Actually I just wrote that it was a case of mixed messages, the kissing section of the article takes every scene out of context to show what it can look like. But very well explained Enny, thank you ❤

Think there is a marked difference between the type of romance and kisses on screen thats acceptable compared…
Thank you for your thoughts, interesting about the awkwardness I love it when they portray awkwardness on screen, but you do make an interesting point about it in real life. Trying to listen in is so much more important than the verbal consent and is something we must do continuously.

I feel like we should take all of these and put them on a line graph, like 1-10 of least amount of red flags to…
That could be so much fun and different depending on the variables one would put in... Thank you for your take on CLOY it really is an interesting conversation piece here in the comments and I am really enjoying peoples takes on this. The danger part was yet another perspective I had not thought about, so thank you for bringing it up. 😊
