I was starting to get bored at 14, 15 but now that they have passed the teen years and episode 17 especially i all the way in. Please dont let it end bad.

Okay 4 episodes yesterday and 8 today so all caught up but like i need more. At least we get 2 episodes a day though Friday.
Before i started watching i heard HMH was playing a morally grey character but he is the greenest of green flags.
Looks like a cinnamon roll acts like a cinnamon roll but will also kill you.

This is very different from the dramas I usually watch. This is overall a slower pace and quieter in all aspects but thats exactly what I liked. Coming off of dazzling which was dramatic and youthful anxiety, this was a pleasant surprise.
The romance is not all fireworks but I honestly like the love that grew between ML and FL it honestly felt more realistic (and yeah we don't always want realistic this was a nice change).
The revenge was subtle and the focus of healing is more profound in my opinion.
I love that we got a glimpse at the key characters after the rebellion and those endings also felt very real instead of everyone ecstatic and perfect (although i do feel Han Mingxi got slightly shortchanged).
This is definitely a top one for me this year. I'm glad I didn't wait to binge watch it and watch it each day to let the emotions have time to develop.

No. I saw it. The whole story is a "book" she wrote. Which undermines the entire story. She says that none of things she wrote happened to her. So in my opinion if you ignore the it was all a book she wrote the actual ending is good.

I have predicted all of this for a while now but ML and FL are breaking my heart. ML greeting all the masters and saying he would care for her.😭
Her repressing the memories of finding out she is all alone again.
I need ML to make her happy.
Hin finally realizing what her promise to pay the debts back actually meant.
Even though i want the next episode i am glad i didnt wait to binge, i think it gives more time for the emotions to hit and sit with you. Just a few more days until express on Sunday!

I think FLs uncle is more worried. Having the edict will clear the Ding family and ML but then she is dredging up the past. Basically he is worried about what will happen to FL and MLs relationship if everything comes out and FLs mother rile in MLs brother dying. So to protect her happiness he wants the past to stay the past.
At least thats what i think.

He is Han Mingxi brother. They were looking for Mingxi at the beginning when he first was on screen.
They said somthing about the 2 brothers being the only ones to survive (cant remember what they survived. Guessing exile because of their connection to eastern palace-Mo Jingli)

Okay i am loving the fight scenes so far.
FL and the transformering back and forth from her and Master Zhu.
ML fighting in wheelchair. And then showing up to protect FL was the best eay to show he is cured.
ML is all kinds of suspicious but he still wont just ask (i guess he is trying to make her trust him for her mental health but still).
Captain Li is also at Lishan to finally get the answers we were all expecting.
I'm a sucker for Lin Munro's (Han Mingxi) little puppy dog devotion to FL for saving him. He wont leave until he pays his debt. (I want it to stay platonic, abandon the direction of him crushing on her). Let him see her as a mentor please. (I'm older than Lin Munro so everytime i see him i cant help but go he is a cute little kid with that dimple - who i do eant to see have his main role).

Completely agree. Who knew rice could make me teary.
Definitely a solid final episode. Randomly started with now expectations but this is probably my number 1 kdrama this year.

So agree with you about Yun. But i love that he had the recipe book and wants to actually cook well now.

I love that he realized that he had the skills without the system because his dad already taught him.
Also love he was able to pull from his memories of cooking at the outpost to help like picking out the onion.
It does wrap nicely with a great way to potentially introduce season 2 officer's mess.

Never thought rice would make me emotional. I really liked this finale and so glad there will be a season 2 maybe? But thats gonna be so long from now.
I loved how the supporting cast got their moments too.

Right I think it was episode 4 where he starts memorizing everything. I loved the way the pov shifted, probably one of my fav episodes actually I think so far. We also I think get to see the real FL because she usually puts on a mask but he can already see through it.

I think since he can already see her trauma response of having hallucinations and his only thought is to help her immediately by curing her loneliness and becoming her anchor, he will subvert all our Cdrama trope expectations and not blame her. 🤞

Honestly thats exactly what I said to another comment. The way information is revealed piece by piece is perfect.

I love that we get to see his perspective on her behavior since we get to see how obsessed his already is with his wife watching her every move. And he is definitely more curious about her behavior than anything and now want to help her.

I said to another comment but I hope that they don't do they typical he gets mad that she hid the secret about his brother's execution and last wish. Honestly I feel like they have avoided a lot of tropes so far so hopefully we dont get this one. I am more concerned that he will think that she is with him only because of repaying her mother's debt to the family.
I am ready for them to team up to clear the Ding name.
Oh absolutely she learned medicine to help him.

I am someone who hates palace politics and I have been obsessed with this. I have been watching since day one on a whim for the above reason and I was hooked immediately.
How the story unfolds about the past is well done.
ML and FL have a healthy relationship in my opinion.
It the only Cdrama I'm watching at the moment.

Can't wait for them team up and work together. ML and FL will be unstoppable once they work together.

So far their relationship has been built on communication I feel and FL does open up about things to ML. So I am hoping at most ML is angry for an episode like with the bandits. Honestly I'm worried that ML will think that FL is only with him because of the promise to ML's brother than he will blame her for the edict.
I can't wait for them to team up to clear up the case since both are working on it independently.
