LYF has over 70 episodes. It is forbidden to air a season longer than 40 and we just got a new law that says two seasons cannot be aired back to back. This means TC is going to have to shuffle things to make that work. In China most expect August (the best prime time) to go to it, with TLP broadcasting before it.
I ran to Twitter to check what you mean. Hmm, I do not know what to think, I would like to see him in that genre,…
Huge, considering TH plans a trilogy, as he feels technology is where it should be for what he plans. Apparently he has wanted to do this for decades and the time is just right now. There are so many names possibly connected to this that who knows what the truth is. The melon that a famous director was looking for XZ for a long planned movie is actually months old, it is just that now we have a name. Waiting is a nightmare π

It is not some costume movie. If the rumor about who the director is true, then it can only be one movie.
Legend of the Condor Heroes: The Great Hero is the first in the trilogy Tsui Hark plans to direct. And it is a very big deal. I dare not speculate if it is true but if it is, it is a big thing.

Yes, it is an original novel, not a remake. Actually it is a brilliant book, whoever ends up with the lead role is going to have a field day because it offers so much good material.
To keep it short, and as unspoilt as possible, two men get arrested for theft in the late 80s. They escape and while one is caught and executed for it, the other gets away. The story is about him and the prison guard/officer who chases after him (I imagine this role would go to XZ as it is such a good character set). The whole book spans a good 20 years and describes the influence of this event on both their lives while the backdrop for it is the changing Chinese landscape of early businesses, corruption, capitalism and an overall changing country.
The author is very well known and has won multiple awards. Iirc this book has too. If it is this, it is a great thing.

What remake? The title that is being thrown around is an original book. Do you mean because some called it Chinese Shawshank Redemption? It is because the book contains the topic of jail break, which is the common line.
Plus several marketing accounts are saying it is not that novel. It looks like it is a movie but which is in question.
Started well, ended up anything but. This should have been a good ten episodes shorter. It pretty much has no plot. The dialogues and relationship development are extremely juvenile. The pacing totally off. All those flashbacks unnecessary.
The one genuinely serious side plot point, which was the abuse and toxicity that an alcoholic parent brings was tossed aside as if it was nothing in favor of some bizarre happy resolution that frankly blows my mind, considering how it ends up favoring the abuser and just ignoring decades of torture he inflicted.
FL and ML did the best job they could with the material they had. Second couple was extremely enjoyable which is rare for me. Only reason why I finished this. Would I recommend it? Maybe, be prepared to FF and remove fragile objects from your vicinity if you care about abuse victims.
Episode 27 is the absolute height of idiocy. I don't think I can even say what I want without keysmashing. Really?…
I am talking about admitting her to hospital for labor because of accompanying health issues, onwards. Yes, tell a woman like that, in the hallway, that her husband is critical. Sounds like such a great idea! Then the rest of that whole thing. Ridiculous.
Episode 27 is the absolute height of idiocy. I don't think I can even say what I want without keysmashing. Really? Seriously really? I know realism isn't a thing in these shows but there is that and then there is the absolute nonsense that was this.
it will lolshe kinda learns how to match his lips LOL

Ah that is a comfort, you have no idea. She had two amazing kissers as partners so I would be crying if we stayed at the deer in headlights, dead fish's last twitches phase. Thank you π
I am on episode 11, enjoying the story but damn, Tan Song Yun still can't kiss worth a damn. Considering JBR is a master of trade I had hoped it would get better but nope.
WDB is coming first so TLP after that, late May probably. We can only hope.
Where Dreams Begin. It is also, unlike TLP, a TV drama so it has been a point of waiting to find the proper slot to fit both TV stations that will be airing it. Much more complicated. It seems like late April is it so in that case, TC will wait with TLP, not to overlap as they are the platform broadcasting WDB on the Web.

TLP... Ah you know how it is. Tencent is Tencent.
