Do Joon literally told you how things would have turned out.

Tbh I find it seriously frightening how many are describing FL 2 as a strong woman. She is a toxic manipulator who would have made Do Joon's life a living hell. He basically tells us this with his description of what would have followed. Is that really a person he should have in his life, in his private life?

In his first life, the FL was an actual strong woman. Not someone who treats people like puppets and steps on corpses on her way forward at any cost but a person who has a strong sense of right and wrong, justice and morality, who will pursue it even against overwhelming odds and someone who has a bottom line, something absolutely necessary if you have any hope of being a good person. She was a strong woman who fought for justice. The current FL therefore has the same potential and though it needed more buildup, it was still visible in the scenes we were given.

Do Joon's mother actually reiterates this point during her conversation with him and his father. Do not cross that line in the sand.

I am not sure I understand the confusion?

People everywhere, not just Asia, married really young in the generation of Do Joon's grandfather. He would have had his first child by 20 easily. So his child was 20 and also capable of having their first child by the time grandfather was 40. Which brings us to grandfather being 70 and that first grandchild being 30. It's really not odd.

I am not in Korea so I can't comment how it is there exactly but in many parts of Asia university has moved the line upwards in the last two to three decades and even with that, for example when it comes to women, if you aren't married by 30 it's considering you are then too old (nonsense obviously but the pressures are insane). In rural areas you will still easily meet young married couples. Anyway, it really isn't far fetched that older generations married young. It's very realistic.

Not that good IMO. She is overacting and doesn't really fit into the rest. I do think she is also a little bit unlucky because this show is absolutely bursting with fantastic acting performances and I am not exaggerating when I say so. It's impossible not to notice her issues in this environment. If she had started in a smaller production, it wouldn't have been so bad.

Actually I would say she is a good lesson here - don't bite off more than you can chew. Start small, then build as your skills grow.

Gucci suit was an incredibly smart fashion choice. Everyone else was in black so he really stood out, lots of talk on Chinese socials about the color. It's also the talk of fashion blogs now because that is Pantone's color of 2023, Viva Magenta so he was very current with that choice, very fashion conscious.

Pass. Absolutely pass.

Thing about the inflating the money wasn't random. He knew that the financial crisis was coming. Ordinarily, while not the most ideal, increasing the amount would be an inconvenience. But Do Joon knew that the financial crisis was about to hit and what would usually be an inconvenience, would be a genuine trouble for SY. So he bluffed from the start in order to make sure that come the crisis, SY wouldn't be free to acquire other companies going down as easily.

Yup.

The illogical part is hilarious. On one side they don't want romance but then they don't mind the SFL. So which is it?

As that isn't enough, then come the complaints that the romance between him and FL is cringy but there has to be space for that romance, even if not focus, to develop. Yet they don't want screen time for FL. Again, which is it. You can't have both.

In the end it's just hypocrisy.

All I see is a major manipulator and I certainly haven't forgotten how she was in the first life and how she treated him like a piece of trash. Something Do Joon remembers too. She didn't grow a new personality. To each their own I guess.

Same. I really cannot guess especially because they seem to have shifted focus on things I did not expect. I am more and more curious and I just hope it doesn't end up rushed.

Hyun Min is a literal walking red flag, a toxic manipulator and that is somehow hot and what Do Joon needs in his life?

I am also curious because we are already in the sixth episode yet very little is being established about the "big boss" if they want to do the same thing with the grandmother as in the novel. Ten episodes for the "accident" , the media development, the tumor story, then the grandmother? I think they will be changing things.

We all enjoy different things but as far as I am concerned if she (Hyun Min, the cousin future wife) had zero screen time till the end of the drama I would be happy. For me, way way too much time going to her character and I don't even understand why. Am so annoyed.

Today was a strange episode.

I loved the beginning. SJK was so good in the restaurant scene. They way they have been weaving his past and his present is so good. I don't have enough words to say how in love I am with the cinematography of this drama. I mentioned that about the previous episode and it held here. I adore the yellow/sepia filter on the whole show. It gives it a dose of surrealism almost at this point which goes so well with the whole notion of transmigration.

What I did not like at all was all the time being spent on the trash oldest grandson and then as if that wasn't enough, we had to add his alone time with his future wife. They give us this but not ML and FL? So not here for that, FFed for the first time in this drama. I am especially salty because while the rain scene was nice, where are those feelings of our ML to the FL coming from? He had no time to establish them. But we have time to show cousin and his "love" life? And then, as if that wasn't enough, solo screen time for the FL2 and again with the cousin? So not her for that bs. Especially as even the ML didn't have too much time in this episode. So while the ending was great (and brilliantly filmed) I was way too annoyed at that point. I hope this isn't a sign for things to come in the next episodes and screen-time distribution.

I am glad we finally got some moments with Do Joon and his new family because those dynamics were fantastic in the novel and I miss that.

When he said that about masters he basically said to current Do Joon exactly what they all thought about Hyun Woo in his first life. Such good writing.

It's a play on that old trope, that no matter what you do some things are simply fated to happen and cannot be changed.

I rather like that for all the things that he can change, the one he may want the most, he cannot. It's really good writing.
