Can people stop with drama comparisons? Master/disciple storyline has been used many times b4 and thatβs the…
I mean if they insist on it, this show has more in common with Journey to the West. Funny how they never compare it to that, or any other master/disciple shows but they all focus on comparing it to just this one. What a coincidence π
One of the main lines of anti attack on YGY. They are trying to use it to say that the drama is not worth watching or in worse cases, that it copied JoF (even though Zhu Yan the book is older but they count on people not knowing).
This swarm of accusations happened when the first trailer aired in both China and outside. You can see it in the YT comments. And look below now. So just same old, same old. People being afraid this show might be a hit and trying to bring it down.
The new trailer really blew up. The reservations for the show went up by half a million, up to 2.59 mil which is incredible . I actually didn't expect it would have such an effect even though I was optimistic. Tbh, nobody expected this. Hopefully this means a summer vacation file for sure which is the best possible for a drama of this type (in essence, by July 5th everyone is on vacation but expect very late July, realistically August because it is yet to be submitted for the final trial).
Of course, antis have gone crazy and have been dancing since yesterday (some of the stuff was really funny). While this is good because it's always an indication of excellence, keep in mind things like this tend to spill from China onto MDL too. So don't be surprised.
If I were asked that question by an actor, not a character, I would answer: "If you died, my heart would break…
Oh yes, absolutely, YBY is the one that springs to mind when thinking of SY.
Well Tencent did swear to have more respect for the IPs that they use for making dramas. It's been a long standing complaint by Chinese, as audiences, and more importantly, by writers themselves that the shows go beyond altering the original to nebulous territories where they almost have nothing in common. So I do think they will keep this because it's vital to SY's character.
We should know soon if all goes well, late July but probably August. I do hope you enjoy the show, actually I hope both of us do ππ
They said they made the drama worse than the book and the book is already painful πIt's heavily adapted of…
Yes I have but I am trying not to think on it too much considering that everything says it's been altered. Still, what I told you should be it and there is definitely lots more.

We can't know for sure because the novel has been changed but the ML absolutely does have a sense of duty. In fact, the choice is actually country or love and Shi Ying chooses country.
That's actually my favorite part, there is lots more than the trailer, that actually showed little and I hope everything surrounding him has been kept in.

Not true actually. What you saw in the trailer should be more or less the first half. Shi Ying is the prince of Kong Sang and that whole bit should come after. Honestly, this trailer while awesome actually shows very, very little.
Donβt tell me that they get into the relationship at the end of the drama. The trailer looks so painful π£.…

It's heavily adapted of course so it's hard to answer your question but imo, the trailer actually hid a lot of things, including my personal favorite part of the story so there is a lot to look forward to. It's beyond romance. Plus Shi Ying's character is really complex and frankly, pitiful π Can't wait for this, come on Tencent, we are ready to throw money at you.
I don't think it is her original voice either. Hopefully they change that part.
I checked over on Chinese side. Not her voice, you are right but they don't know why it's dubbed. Could be COVID related if she couldn't make it. If so, this will stay π
But it is said that the dubbing is completed. But I also think that this will air in August. Cuz love like the…
Don't expect a date, that's not how China works but we should get new material. I am crossing my fingers it's a trailer π€Tencent is banking big time on this one.
How did u say 21st will be released another trailer? They have announced anything?
It's not a rumour, official invites are out.
It's just that even though they usually do show new stuff for shows that are attracting investments, it doesn't have to be a trailer. It often is but not always. So we can only hope π€·

The only thing in common is master and disciple and that exists in many other shows too.

I dislike the babying at the start though I can live with that but at the end? My poor ears π
Ren Min's voice is a disaster πππ Tencent, please dub over that, everything else is so good πππ
