Just watched two cheesy romcom kdramas in a row so was looking for something dark. I'm planning on binging it in one go, and i'll let you know my thoughts at the end.

Just give it a try, the ML looks better in the drama itself and the romance with FL isn't a main point, as you can see there's no romance tag, it focuses more on his family dynamics and his political aspirations.

In what way is the ML average looking? Also i kinda agree with the age gaps but in the show from what I remember they were at uni at the same time, so he plays a character that's around a few years older than her, both in their 30s.

Wasn't nearly as bad as everyone said it was. IDK if its cause I've seen much longer dramas, although this did drag a bit, it wasn't that bad, and I enjoyed it. I give it an 8.5/10, which for me means its worth watching at least once.

I'm so confused by this scene 19 minutes into the last episode where Su Jeong and her family visit her mother’s columbarium. It shows her mom was born in 1979, but that makes no sense. Su Jeong was 19 (18 in international age) in 2009, which means if her mom were alive, she’d only be 30 at that time. That would mean she gave birth to Su Jeong at around 11… Did I miss something, or is this just a major timeline error?

How is this a fail? If anything imho it surpasses the OG one, and I REALLY liked the British one.

Not for the ML, although you can tell he likes the FL and they become close, hopefully there's romance in the 2nd season. There's a slight romance between Detective Park Jun-Young and Yoon Ji-Won who works in Forensics.

Since it seems light, does this mean this saeguk has no backstabbing's, betrayal, conspiring to kill the king etc?

Pretty sure he plays someone under 30 (about 28-29) in this too, so it makes sense

How would you compare this drama to Love To Hate You. I saw you rated both 8.5. I liked how quick Love To Hate You was, but is this slower paced since its longer.
