Calming waves was a WAYYYYY nicer name. why are they giving my lament of river immortal trauma again
But also, what a terrible marketing blunder to change the name so close to launch. If viewership drops, the fact that people couldn't FIND the show will be a major cause.
Very interesting article! I think the layered meanings of this show has been one of the reasons its been so popular. There are so many things the audience takes in without recognizing how it affects the scene or story. I especially enjoy the fact that the hero mostly appears in red or black (Duke Su, typically symbolizing evil) while the antagonist usually wears white (Shen Yurong, typically innocence or purity), a reflection of how tropes have been subverted throughout the show.
I noticed that FangFei's revenge arc is shrouded in pear blossoms, but her marriage is represented with plum blossoms, marking a divergence from vengeance and fear. Is there also a symbolism to the tree in Duke Su's courtyard?
Hello. New to Mr Wang's fandom. He's truly a brilliant actor, and so far, I love every character of his that I've seen so far, including the villain in One and Only (in fact, I thought he was particularly excellent in that role, because I totally understood his motivation).
Can someone please tell me what the hashtag #starleap means on RedNote? He's all over it.
