It depends. It's a thriller/suspense story and if you are a fan of that genre, it's so good! Visually beautiful, well-thought-out strange cases that don't get solved right away, great characters, and character evolution. And all interconnected to one big case that's driving most of us crazy trying to figure out.
If you prefer historical romance, though, this is not for you. There is no conventional romantic story line.
was bananakim's fake review finally removed? I can't see it anymore.although there's another review calling every…
You know, from the state of the reviews on this, I'm betting that if people hadn't come out so strongly against it, there wouldn't have been a similar pushback for it. The detractors really shot themselves in the foot here.
I remember a clip of "The Avengers" screenwriters talking about having to handicap Thor in the movies,…
Yes! Perfect characters are dull. XBM is going to have die-hard fans because he's persevering despite overwhelming odds. When he beats the odds, it becomes that much more meaningful.
Just finished episode 17. Another good one! I must be the only one who don't mind that ML is diminished. For once,…
I remember a clip of "The Avengers" screenwriters talking about having to handicap Thor in the movies, otherwise there'd be no battle--Thor was so powerful, he'd just come in and single-handedly wipe out the bad guys.
I think the same principle applies here. A full-strength Beiming without his arrogance would have been too perfect, too strong for any storyline to be really dynamic. As a trope, it also works in rapidly building the relationships with Xueman and the team.
Some weird fandom war going on. If you want to watch this, ignore the ratings. The drama is good, if you don't…
Absolutely. I hate some very popular shows. I've rated and left a review explaining why in such cases.
I have not, however, left multiple comments with personal attacks on the lead actors as the prime reason to hate a show (persistently, as you can see for yourself). In the first few days of this airing, there were a lot of those. That's the trolling I'm referring to.

Fans of Coroner's Diary (and other detective shows) don't seem to like it much (unsurprisingly). Some fans hate the female lead. I couldn't say whose fans they are. Fans of romance hated it from the first episode.
There's a couple of users who hate ALL the actors in the show. One left a review that has nothing to do with the show at all. Some people have a lot of time on their hands.
You should scroll through the comments. The trolls are evident.
Over the last ten episodes, I've come to love the relationship between Beiming and Xueman. It's emotionally deep, comfortable, a rare partnership. I like that they've kept it subtle too.
Sorry, but I'm missing something, who is this Peacock I keep seeing people mention? I don't see anyone by that…
Zhuge KongYun from the Secret Investigation Unit; Xiao Beiming's rival and the second smartest detective in Qi. Also known as 'Peacock' because he dresses well.
Idk y I skipped today's Papa Feng and Dairong scenes. They being sweet like forced romance
There's more chemistry between the main leads than these two. The XBM-ZXM relationship isn't romance-novel first-love sparks; it's childhood sweethearts who can read each other's glances and anticipate each other's needs. Very comforting.
Nothing. It’s not a typical idol drama. Watch this if you like character development, intricate interconnected…
That seems to be the problem, perhaps. Fans are going into this expecting a goddess bride, a Duke Su-type badass man, and some light detecting in the background.
So they ignore the very real and intriguing story and get huffy about screen time or chemistry (which, to be fair, does exist, but not in the stereotypical romance style. It's in the way they settle into a rhythm and are totally in sync with each other).
Their loss. This is rapidly becoming one of my favourite Asian dramas.

It started off around 8.3. At that point, all the comments were about the FL and the lack of CP vibes. After that, the rating started to drop. It's really a lovely show. Just go into it knowing its not formulaic.
7.8??? The amount of hype I saw before it aired.... definately didn't expect thi rating. Atleast I thought it…

If not, then you're going to enjoy it. It really is a thriller/suspense story.
Good for the show, however!

The drama is good, if you don't expect romance or conventional idol drama tropes.
I really don't want WXY typecast into the perfect romantic hero role. He'd die of boredom and so would we.

The low ratings are inexplicable.
