I really hope Confession is NOT happening. The more I think about it, besides the insanity of the schedule, he doesn't need to be typecast as a romantic hero. I hope he gets the chance to play very different roles on his own terms.

I thought BaoHu FengHe goes on till Jan '26? Damn. I would love to see him in a modern drama, but not sure it's smart for him to do shoot back-to-back dramas. He's going to drop from exhaustion if there's no break in between.

Xiao Beiming and Zhong Xueman! I love them both.

I'm not watching for romance, but even if I was, the difference is that this is not a will-they-won't-they full of misunderstandings, love triangles, and passionate, GIF-able moments. This is a mature, stable, low-drama relationship between old lovers. I much prefer this.

I'm not sure what Xing Zhi Wan is, but if it's delayed, I would think that's great. I'd rather WXY get to choose a script himself after Bao Hu. A couple more modern dramas would be nice.

Funny the things we miss on the first few watches.

Yesha's purpose for the magical theatrics of the last two murders (other than to kill the Prince and the strategist) was to ensure that the emperor conducted the Heavenly Blessings ceremony. Because after each ceremony, he releases the water from the Imperial Spring to the masses. Without this release, Yesha could not have poisoned the people.

Watching for the fourth time (something to do until Shadow Detective airs). A gaunt, suffering, dishevelled Beiming is just hauntingly beautiful. He's a Byronesque hero in every sense.

Doesn't he go mountain climbing and hiking?

The stunt is scary dangerous, however. I don't know how he did it. The drop down the reservoir looks insane.

Was iQIYI the original producer for this? I assumed they bought it from the production company. It feels as though they're pretty invested in WXY. I mean, they gave him top billing on Bao Hu, which likely means he impressed them on set.
