If you google a drama, MDL will always be one of the top English hits, reviews and ratings make a real impact on international numbers. It doesn't have to be a big impact to make this practice worthwhile.
Also this drama has 30.000+ ppl that have added it to their "watching" list. Most visitors or not registered & even of those that have an account how many use these side features? Even I rarely do, I just comment & write reviews. That's plenty of people.

I'm implying that large clusters of studio affiliated accounts are ensuring the high ratings until the drama is no longer trending on Netflix lists etc..
It costs next to no money to do this & they would be almost dumb not to.
I knew it that when the ratings of this drama go up here on MDL the question will be.. "why is it rated so high"First…
Every new kdrama these days starts off with insanely high ratings. I have not watched this yet, but this is a clear trend, unfortunately MDL ratings are completely out of whack since early? last year. The website is ill prepared for all the commercialization that has happened to kdramas in west in recent years.
Is the HE even guaranteed? They diverged a lot from the comic, or so is everyone saying. They could totally pull a La La Land, if they really wanted to. (then again I also think it's going to be a 2 minute HE)
I just finished watching e10 & i'm really mad. Why is it that not only every single kdrama these days has a noble separation plot, but also the plot revolving around it is effin garbage. I think I'll rate this at 6/10, unless a miracle happens with the preview being completely false.
I don't think the studio would dare to shock Korean audiences with this up until the final 30 seconds of E12,…
Not all societies are on course for being more accepting and open minded. The counter forces are very strong in Korea & the progress is very very slow.
Is being gay really that bad? Why they wouldn't let Do Han be honest and came out. Just let him tell the world…
In South Korean society it's a huge flaw, it's kind of similar to how it used to be in 60s America, but worse, because of Confucianist family values. Strangers would treat you like this happened in 60s America, but your family could just remove you from the family tree & never talk to you again. Of course it would be a huge scandal a for chaebol heir to be gay & the gay heir would need bow a lot to shareholders, apologize & resign.
Living in America happily would defo be the best choice for a rich Korean like DH.
The FL actress is incredible. 11/10 pretty, 11/10 chic, 11/10 acting, I really hope she will keep getting lead roles until the end times. (even if I'm -not yet- in love with this drama after 3 eps, the premise is just too makjangish for my taste)

(though greater miracles have happens in the k-entertainment industry, though it's admittedly very rare)
If that is not paid advertisement for foreigners I don't know what is.
Is the comic also like this? o_O
