Many are paid reviews, since there is no reason not to. Though I'm sure there are some legit 10/10 reviews.

>"it's okay, that's love"

That's one of the best kdramas ever made & unfortunately Slump's not even remotely on the same level. It's not just that it's not nearly as good, but rather the overall vibe is just very different.

Then again I'm happy for you that this drama gives you such feelings.

This I don't know, but in dramas this is a frequent enough plot point that it's not unimaginable.

is it just me who likes the interstellar-esque bgm lol
I love the Interstellar soundtrack, but as of E4 I have not yet noticed this. Could you perhaps give a Youtube link, or search keyword?

If you found it unbearably ridiculous early on, then dropping it is a good call.

this kdrama indeed has flaws. every kdrama does. but every kdrama doesn’t feel like this one. it’s such a…
I don't understand this comment at all, yes 2016 has been a much better year than 2023, but by then we reached the "modern" era. It may be 7-8 years ago, but nothing much changed since then in terms of production and writing.

In fact I would argue that if we are nitpicking, then maybe 2019- 2020 has been the "healing drama" period.

>Chinese dramas target teenagers more

This is not really true.
Cdramas have shitty parents, because that's one of very few ways to add a lot of makjang without failing censorship. (and the establishment likes plots where children stay loyal to their shitty parents)

This logic is insane. It took him this long to become an A lister, had he gone 2 years ago, much of his efforts…
You are not completely wrong, but you can enlist at any time once you are an adult. Most normal people enlist before graduating from university. A white collar worker cannot go on a 2 year carrier break and expect to not near certainly ruin his carrier prospects and so they'll get this over with as soon as possible.

This is different for actors, because if someone gets the opportunity to become famous, they would be stupid to miss out on a chance that may never come again. Once you are really famous, a 2 year break is not nearly as big of a deal. Na In Woo has reached that level & now he can easily get main roles once he is done with his time.

This logic is insane. It took him this long to become an A lister, had he gone 2 years ago, much of his efforts to build his carrier would have gone down the drain.
Going now will make it very easy for him to come back after the service, this is a smart choice.
What is not so smart is going on the reward vacation, he should have just announced that he is entering military service immediately & his Korean fans would have respected that a lot.

Maybe they're discovering that not many 16 episode dramas stick their landing? If a 16 episode drama stands out,…
The goal is to sell as many product placements as possible & have a high viewership for them and for the additional ad breaks.

It doesn't matter if the audience disliked the last episode as long as they watched it and generally speaking if someone (especially domestic viewers) gets to e12-13 they will finish the drama.

This is why the writing quality almost ALWAYS drops, even in relatively good dramas near the end. There is a writing team & once they are no longer motivated to do their best, they just won't care.
Most of the time writing happens while the drama is airing, there is a main writer & some interns & they work overtime to grab your attention with their witty dialog and everything, they will typically not do that for the final episodes, let's go home early, since it does not matter anymore. Let's prepare for our reward vacation instead.. (for example Marry My Husband's crew is already getting a reward vacation, but a tolerable ending is quite a bit up in the air, the plot certainly spiraled out of control, novel or not I have doubts if they are even willing to recover from this)

Sticking the landing is not commercially important and that is the main reasons it often doesn't happen, be it a 12 or a 16 episode drama.

Did Miss Yang got the cancer in Manhua too? Enlighten me please , coz I can't accept it.
Yes, but in the comic her cancer plot made complete sense, It was not filler at all & it mostly involved the leads & their actions.

I fear that might not happen here, I guess we'll have to see.
