No it's not, it's pronounced as Seon & romanizing it as Sun makes very little sense, beyond convention. Actually I've noticed Koreans themselves routinely bite the "y" off, when speaking very fast. Song Hye Kyo's name is really a chore even for them, the first ㅖis often simplified :-)

I did not claim they were interchangeable, it's just that English speakers fumbling around with 혜 is not necessarily better than just settling for 해. The romanization of Korean names is a random mess anyway. Using "Sun" for 선 is not all that fantastic to begin with.
Why do people misspell her name's romanisation? It's Hye (혜). Hye and Hae (해) are said widely differently…
