Whatever. All we have is an unverifiable narrative & some awful texts out of context. I have sent & received my fair share of awful texts, that does not make me a bad person, just human. (plus I mainly care about the art, not the artist)
No it's not, it's pronounced as Seon & romanizing it as Sun makes very little sense, beyond convention. Actually I've noticed Koreans themselves routinely bite the "y" off, when speaking very fast. Song Hye Kyo's name is really a chore even for them, the first γ is often simplified :-)
It's not that clear actually. Native English speakers trying to say "Hye" might be worse than just sticking to…
Really? I thought Koreans are doing most of the renaming. Woo, Lee, Sung.. Also Koreans are so bad at English pronunciation typically, that minor compromises like this shouldn't offend them, no? (Don't even get me started with the Hangul spelling of English words..)

I did not claim they were interchangeable, it's just that English speakers fumbling around with ν is not necessarily better than just settling for ν΄. The romanization of Korean names is a random mess anyway. Using "Sun" for μ is not all that fantastic to begin with.
Why do people misspell her name's romanisation? It's Hye (ν). Hye and Hae (ν΄) are said widely differently…

(naturally thin adults won't have legs like that, unless their natural thinness is a medical condition)
Even so, I enjoyed this article, especially the tolerance bars :-)
