bro why didnt they just stick to the original plot 😭😭 instead they made it a snooze fest after episode 9
I'm kinda confused by why did they make the Tiger Spirit aware of his mistake only at the end lmao
In the webtoon he knew he'd made a mistake from the beginning.
What weird choices this drama made.

Title A Good Day to Be a Dog Spoiler
Yes.In the webtoon, the reason the curse is so silly, is because in the first incarnation, Seowon originally is…
It's actually the other way round.
Seems like they wanted their ML to be perfect and manly.
In the webtoon it's the ML's past reincarnation (as a girl) that causes the death of the girl the Tiger spirit loved. And it's Seowon in the present that gets his memory erased.

Seems the writers didn't like that the past life of Seowon was a girl and that he had a more passive role in the present story. Here they get him to do sword fights and punch people in the face.
It's disappointing.

It is.
I'd really like to pick these writers and director's brains to try to understand why they made the choices they made when their homework was already handed out to them all done and with a perfect mark.

Title A Good Day to Be a Dog Spoiler
When the earlier episodes were airing, I saw a comment saying that LBG accidentally cursed the wrong family and…
Yes.

In the webtoon, the reason the curse is so silly, is because in the first incarnation, Seowon originally is a teenage girl jealous of the girl the Tiger spirit loves, and to play a mean prank on her, she strands her beloved dog in the mountain, and when the girl goes looking for the dog, there's a storm and she falls and dies, both her and the dog. Haena's past incarnation is a boy who was in love with girl-Seowon and lies to the Tiger spirit, saying it was him that did that, so he and his blood line get cursed.

Yul is the reincarnation of the dog, that's why he's like that and he's in the care of Seowon in this life.

The Tiger spirit wipes Seowon's memory clean, and he goes back to avoiding Haena because he's scared of dogs. This was done to Seowon because the Tiger spirit had already wiped his memory clean once, as a child, to get him to fear dogs, and a magical rule says a mountain spirit can't erase the memory of the same human twice, it will come back.

So, slowly Seowon starts feeling things towards Haena, until he remembers her, and by then the curse is broken and they are free to be together. The Tiger spirit knew all this, he was punished after wrongly cursing the wrong person and tasked with watching over them and try to help them break the curse.

He had tried before, with past Seowon and Haena incarnations, but they always hated each other (and also, they were both girls).

The reincarnation of the Tiger spirit's dead love never turns up, and Ji Ah is just from a family of shamans that's bound to serve the Tiger god, so she's just around to keep an eye on him and the humans he cursed.

Not really, unless you really like the main actors.
Yes, the pacing is uneven and there's a lot that doesn't make sense in the story.

I think you're right to be worried about A Good Day to be a Dog, because there's pictures of cha eunwoo filming…
Coming back here to say that the worries for A Good Day to be a Dog were well founded, and the flipping of the themes there is even more dire than in See You in My 19th Life!

what the main diversion from the webtoon? (mark as spoiler, i am just curious, if the webtoon has a better plot)
Also, Seowon is not that violent and Haena is not so helpless.

But I guess they wanted to make Seowon cool and manly, so they had him go around punching people and doing sword fights in the past and keep his memory, so he' wouldn't be helpless. Bad choices all around.

Made a light drama very heavy and draggy needlessly.

Actually, as Min Ji ah said “everyone dies.” Holding a grudge like that for a long time, especially as a divine…
The most plausible explanation is that he is being badly written.
Things are very different in the webtoon, I don't know why the drama writers took a well crafted story, that made sense, and scrambled the characters like this.
It's not even like it's helping their on air ratings.

Makes no sense, must be pure incompetence.

Yep. It's almost like these writers didn't really consider the ramifications of the changes they did to a well thought out and established work.

I don't know why people are so down on this drama, it was hilarious.
Rowoon was so funny, especially after episode 3, and Bo Ah was adorable and made for a very sympathetic character.

Very, very different.
Maybe wait until it's done, so you can binge.
(and read the webtoon, if it's your thing. It's a really nice read.)

How can a lesser/territorial mountain spirit who couldn't prevent his lover from marrying someone, couldn't protect…
Yeah. I feel like if they tried to follow the webtoon more faithfully, a lot of things would've made more sense.

But they just tried to inject angst and make the ML cooler, and get him to do sword fights and beat people up in the present.

In the webtoon Seowon is much more mellow and calm and Haena is much less of a damsel in distress.

I was on board even with all the changes so far but the preview broke me... wtaf is all this nonsense? what is…
There is no point.
The changes make no sense.
They're trying to make Seowon tougher, hence why he retains his memory and not Haena, and why he gets into so many fist fights and is such a tough guy, threatening baddies and all that.
The writers clearly had a problem with the original Seowon character not seeming that masculine. (including changing his reincarnation original story)

They should've just created their own story! There is no need to ruin a webtoon adaptation like this! What the hell…
For real. They completely distorted the webtoon.
And here I was thinking that they did "See You In My 19th Life" dirty with the changes.
This is so much worse.

This poor webtoon writer can't catch a break with drama writers mangling her story.
I hope she at least was well paid.

Question: Is Min Ji Ah the reincarnation of Cho Young or just a look-alike shaman who has Cho Young's spirit in…
That was a new thing the drama made up different from the webtoon.
