A couple years before discovering the amazingness that is kdramas, I started watching some of the old western…
All great choices of western, my favourite out of that list would probably be Bonanza! Thank you for your kind words, thank you for reading it and leaving a comment! ^^
Great article. I am wondering if you have watched "The Good, The Bad, The Weird" it is a Korean version of the…
Thank you! After many searches (before making this article) I looked for any K-drama or movie with a Western genre influence, but no searches came up for me at all, but now that I know that there is one movie that exists, I'll be watching it asap :D
what a great article, you could make a series of "what if kdrama made a .." genre breakdown-fancasts
Thank you ^^ Also, thank you for giving me an idea into potentially making this a series.. that could be very interesting! While it may be difficult to find a genre that has never been put into the K-Drama world, I'm sure there's a few out there just like the Western genre!
Thank you for reading the article and leaving a comment :)
sheriff and outlaw are perfectly cast.Gunslinger should be manly. Siwan could play a hooker (saloon girl) with…
Totally understand why you would prefer someone a little less baby-faced to play the 'Gunslinger' role, and I'm happy to see you agree with the sheriff and outlaw roles! Thanks for checking out the article and leaving a comment ^^
I'm sold. I would definitely watch an adaption of this sort and I don't watch Western often, though I like the…
Thank you very much for checking the article out and giving a comment ^^
It's nice to see that you agree with the Ma Dong Seok choice too, when planning and writing the article, the two 'definite' I had were Ma Dong Seok as 'Sheriff' and Heo Sung Tae as 'Outlaw', I knew I had to choose them haha.
Jeju Island looks, to me, like the most beautiful place in the entire world imo. Albeit I haven't seen everywhere on the entire planet, but you understand what I mean. :D
Thank you for commenting, you have some really interesting points here! If you're looking for a great Western…
You're welcome :)
To be fair, I haven't checked out "Gunfight at O.K. Corral" - my dad told me that I should watch it, but I never got round to watching it - but I think I'll watch it sometime soon! (Plus, Kirk Douglas? (R.I.P) Absolute legend!).
Rio Bravo is probably my favourite Western of all time, either Rio Bravo or Rio Lobo (what can ya say, I'm a big John Wayne fan :D).
I've always wanted to get into watching the Pirate genre, any recs for a beginner? :)
I have never seen Kim Da Mi (looking forward for her upcoming drama Our Beloved Summer), but when I saw IU wearing…
From my observations on MDL in regards to Kim Da Mi, it seems like people either love or hate her acting. I personally love it however!
I've just looked at that picture, and I definitely see why you would pick her :D Plus, I think IU could really get into the 'bold rancher businesswoman' type character - it could almost be a little like her Hotel Del Luna character, maybe? :D
Thank you for checking out and commenting on my article! :)
The only Korean western I've seen is The Good, The Bad, The Weird, but that's a movie. I can definitely see Heo…
Thank you for your comment (I hope your sleeping pattern is okay, if you really are in New Jersey btw xD)! When I was choosing which actor I thought would play the roles above the greatest, Heo Sung Tae immediately came into my brain for the outlaw role, and I just knew there wouldn't be anyone else in my opinion that would push him out of that #1 spot :D
Our parents loved westerns so we grew up with them. Many of them are very cheesy-lol. I agree with all your picks…
I understand why people dislike KDM, so I understand why! My parents also loved, (still love to be fair) Westerns - my dad loves Clint Eastwood, my mum loves John Wayne. Personally my favourite is John Wayne too :D Thank you for checking out the article!
I feel like Chuno has a "western" feel. With outlaws (or in this case runaway slaves if I remember correctly)…
It looks like a great drama, I'll definitely check it out when I can. Thank you :D If I see Jang Hyuk, I know it's going to be something I'm interested in watching XD
I like the idea and I think the concept would go well with K-dramas, particularly the period dramas or sageuk.…
Thank you for your comment :D
Like always, I agree with everything that you have said haha :D. A love warrior/saviour is something that I find really enjoyable to watch, and in terms of K-drama adaptation, could really be something special. What I love about the genre is like what you've mentioned - the genre has lots of versatility that people may not know about. Some people only think westerns have a 'good cowboy' and 'bad cowboy' and that the 'good cowboy' always kills the 'bad cowboy' at the end, and that's it!
I'm glad you like my choice of casting too - I could have mentioned a few more roles but for length purposes, and relevance too, I decided with the five roles. They are the most important five anyway :)
Thank you for reading the article and leaving a comment :)

I was thinking, "he means lone warriors, and not love warriors, right?"
Then I said to myself "just write lone warriors, and if he really means love warriors, I can just change it".
Then, I proceed to write love instead of lone. XD
