I agree with you. #popularity definitely is based on the watchers considering Goblin is #1 with 138,229+ watchers. #rank while it's based on the ratings, it doesn't seem to be a straight forward calculation, which would also make sense.

That is true. I don't know why I didn't realise that was part of what was going on, considering I did the very same thing when I was in school.

Goodbye My Princess gutted me but for me a happy ending in that instance would not have worked because he killed half her family so I could not see her living happily ever after with him and having that at the back of her mind. Which is part of the reason why I think she did what she did, she loved him but hated herself for it. I haven't seen the other dramas you mentioned and probably won't watch them unless I'm feeling especially masochistic

If you insist lol. Basically all the good characters except for the FL die in, "I Will Never Let You Go" and the ML makes a miraculous resurrection in the last 30 second. So it was a double whammy of "let's unnecessarily kill off everyone and then bring someone back with no explanation as to how".

Exactly, l completely agree. The other thing that gets to me is when they kill off the protagonist and all the good people but then the villain and evil schemers live

For me it depends on the circumstance. I can think of a couple of dramas (I won't mention them because I don't want to spoil it for anyone) that they were better imo because of their tragic endings. On the other hand, there are some dramas with sad endings that were unnecessary and ruined them, and felt like a complete waste of my time.
