She does try and uses her son (from her other ex-husband) to recreate aher bond with ML.
It does not work but she does create misunderstandings.
To be fair most of them happen because ML hides everything about his ex-wife and FL finds out everything from a third party.


But what really does not work is the "will you leave me too part"
Because this adaption has the ex-wife come back and have her spend time with the FL.

However: FL getting angry about this question while it does not even come from his breakup with his ex-wife but from his mother leaving changes every dynamic.

With OSN this question related to "hey, my girlfriend left me, will you leave me too" while the FL was leaving her boyfriend of 10 years.
So it was realistic for her to come to the conclusion that this question was directed at her because she is leaving someone and not because of his insecurities.

However the context in this drama is completely different and comes from "everybody who I love, leaves me at some point".
Together with the decease of his sister which has him thinking "tomorrow could be the last day" this question creates a completely different dynamic.

But the FL comes to the same conclusion as written in the original drama - because of the writing. Not because it makes sense

Unfortunately yes. It's not a complete mess however how each ML, FL and Ex act to her appearance .... not very convincing

The writer and director tried to stand out and not to completely copy OSN, however because of that all the little things they kept from the original do not make sense

Sorry, but this Zhao Jin is nothing compared to the original character and the arc with his ex-wife was just bad writing
They changed a lot to stand out against the original but changed too much so the story cannot be portrayed as the original. If they intented that, well, the new story is not really that great

The family dynamic and pressure for Xu Nuo never reached a level where one could think this was believable. Probably because of the missing connection between the families, especially after Yuan's mother did not appear again after her initial debut and being friendly with Xu Nuo's mother

I very much disagree on your last point. It does not matter wether cdrama or kdrama.
It really depends on the genre of the drama.

melodrama is also part of TONS of cdramas.

however "Slice of Life" drama typically don't have that much melodrama (if at all) and portrait a realistic story.
There a lot of examples even from south korea.

However Meet Yourself did set itself apart.
To me: Best Slice of Life I have ever seen.

True. Nothing is really wrong with her and her portrayal is too harsh.
However she is very unreasonable.
Then again - there a lot of people like that in the real world (from both sexes)

there is a nice, very rare for a historical drama, twist at the end
what I really liked was the actual wedding ceremony and everything surrounding it :-D

I felt that after episode ~8/9 the drama got more enjoyable

I don't get why you put so much effort on bad mouthing a drama you don't like and I will never understand that.


My view on those characters and how they are written and explained differ a lot compared to yours.


But to say HJP is "honest to a fault" since he is the biggest liar between him and Do San and even starts to manipulate Dal Mi and Do San is very funny indeed.

Sorry but no. The most things HJP does "for Dal Mi" are not for Dal Mi but her grandmother and his debt to her.
HJP does not start having feelings for Dal Mi AFTER she gets into Sandbox and at that point HJP does not help Dal Mi / Do San very much. (He does one thing: he picks her up in his car when she was "stranded")
All the other help he provides is manditory as a mentor which is his JOB.


Do San falls in love for her at the networking party at a point in time where she had nothing. HJP starts to fall for her only after she proved herself by getting into Sandbox and being a good CEO.


To be honest, I don't believe there is even ONE scene in the entire show where HJP is selfless. He always has a agenda.
Either clearing his debt to Dal Mi's grandmother, having to do his Job as their Mentor or liking Dal Mi and trying to impress her.

If you want to count his action to tell Do San that Dal Mi likes him as "selfless" - ok fine. That would be the one and only scene you could call selfless.
However that I would not even describe as selfless but that is probably personal preference.


And on little thing:
I always believed HJP loved Dal Mi's grandmother as a mother/grandma figure MUCH more than he ever loved Dal Mi.

What kind of similarity are you looking for?
Healthy relationship ? Ex-Lovers getting back together? Cute kid ? Leads work together and fall in love ? bossy FL ? FL fighting discrimination as single mom / at the workplace ?

I cannot think of any drama that is overall very similar to this one (and I watched quite a few^^).
However depending on which parts you like, there are some similar ones.

Unforgettable Love (Cute Kid - but typical ML CEO and somewhat passive FL)
Once We Get Married (the other drama of ML and FL - but no kid, with Love Triangle to a certain degree)
...

Okay, just a couple of them:

1. The bad guy was part of the historical "cast" of the drama - WHY? Which implication had that and since it seems to be none, why do it?
2. The bad guy is crazy and obviously a "selfbelieve shaman". Why? What implication did this generate? Or was it just done because the FL past life was a shaman and to catch him because of the plant he put into ML office ? Seriously?
3. Since the bad guy is crazy. Why the hell would he leave after stabbing the ML? He defeated the ML, there was no third party that made him out and made him flee. Since he is cold blooded and crazy - it makes no sense for him to run.
4. The interaction with the FL when he attacked her through the window ... really? FL does not fight back but has a friendly chat with him? :-D
5. Na Yeon - even if she is "evil" I do believe she is smart to some decree. There is no reason why she would give the bad guy clothes of ML. I would understand FL's clothes out of spite, but ML? Hell no ...
6. Okay so Jae Kyung does not like the FL but likes the FL but does not want to be together with the FL and we never know why he does not want to be together with the FL while at some point - for no explained reason at all - he does want to be together with the FL but does not fight to be together with the FL ...
Watching Jae Kyung was exhausting - also: why the hell was he a character with the historical part? To get enought screentime?
It could be karma to have him create a chance for ML and FL to finally be together - but since he does not know about his past and we have no real indication of it, all of it is just speculation.
7. Why the hell does the FL have NO friends whatsoever ?
I mean she got along with her co-worker in the first episode before being transfered. So its not iike she is completely unlikeable. Even if she does not have any friends among her co-workers, why is there no friend of any part of her life ?
Just because we later find out that in her past life she was a loner living in the woods? Is that the reason?
Well we do not get an explanation, so ...
8. The whole spell fiasco: Does it work? Does it not work? If it does work, is it even real love? It should work since she does not blush anymore after her "fair skin" spell. But then again the love of ML for FL would be because of the spell. How did the love of ML transform to real love from fake love if the spell is real? Does the love spell explain the bad guy (well he did kill his wife before ...)? But if it is not real: what exactly happened with the curse (his disease)?

There are more, but these are the ones I could just write down from the top of my head

First: I have watched a ton of romance drama and you can create mixed genres and work out the details. This drama was just not capable of that.

The details ARE SO BAD. I still rated this drama an 8 because of the acting and chemistry - so its not like I disliked the script.

But there are so many details done wrong.

I will probably watch it because I like both leads ;-)
