Meteor Garden is painful to watch for me at the beginning, especially peak when Ming Si throw the food at Shan Chi. I agree that the beginning is a tad ridiculous.

It gets better after he starts to know his feeling for her.
If you want to stick with it, I think it is a beautifully made version.

As many know that there are several interpretations over the title name, Boys over Flowers or "Hana Yori Dango" (the original Japanese version). Sort of meaning 'good guys are better than beautiful men', first meaning.

Yet, the punch line is Dango has more than one meanings. While Dango means 'boys', it can mean sweet snack/bun/dumpling... somewhat similar to mochi. I read the cartoon books over 25 years ago... If I'm not mistaken, Tsukushi (original main female role) works in sweet shop (selling dungo of course) as her part-time job with her best friend. So that's the 2nd interpretation of the title...

Another is about 'Hana' (meaning flowers) at the Sakura fest... While many come to the festival for viewing the flowers that can't be kept, some come for food, drink and company (tangible/substance items)

In each of the re-make version, her part-time job changes to suit plot of each re-make version. 2018 Chinese version has them work in a tea shop. F4 Thailand centers around flower shop as Gorya's job. I think that's very cute... I am waiting to see the story when F4 are at the flower shop!!! (Sorry to spoil it!)

Mond Tanutchai (Badz) never caught my eye until this series.

Talay's & Gawao's points are also crossing.

Talay told Gorya that those rich kids wouldn't understand them... and things shouldn't be forced. Things that need to be forced and deem to be too difficult are an unfit / overreached.

Yet when Gorya get to the flower shop, Gawao reminds her that... Gorya always overreaches and that is her best & unique character that everyone loves about her. So she should keep on reaching for the impossible.

Gorya has a lot to think about prior to the party.

This version of the F4 is a bit rush since it is only 16 episodes. Gorya has built and gained acceptance from each of the boys... starting with Ren, before the BD party... but they gave her whole-heart respect at the encounter with Thyme's mother.

In other versions, they show all the boys are truly afraid of Thyme's mom. She is a very scary lady. When Gorya, who doesn't know what is what, has stood up against Thyme's mom, the boys are perplexed and take her as such a hero... :) None ever spoke to Thyme's mother like that.

To me, that's why Kawin hold Gorya up. So cute!!!

Cell phone has been a big PPL in many versions of F4... Gorya's phone brakes... in Meteor Garden, Ah Si brakes it... so I expect Thyme to gift Gorya cell phone... Samsung made it big to make that gift to the whole Gorya's family... I found it very cute!

Who is the cast to play Talay? I can't find the info. We first see him in the EP 8, right?

I was a tad confused about that plot myself. I think they forgot to wrap up the issue after the guy confronting Pure about the HIV. HIV was brought up and then went away in a blink. I could have missed it... but that would be way fast. LoL!

With that, it should somehow impact Pure's behavior. Pure went back to sleeping around nonchalantly feels like it betraying structure of the plot... why bring HIV up at all.

When Phab painted Maze picture. Maze was drunk and was taken to Phab's house in EP 3.
Neung came back into Maze's life again ... they had a fight and lost touch for years. Maze is a smart & highly confident person... at those meetings he was not himself.... he couldn't talk.
Also Maze always gave an impression that he is ok on his own... when he was drunk in ep3, he kept asking Phab (Maze thought he was talking to Neung) whether Neung cares about him, misses him and/or worry about him... Maze was sad and felt sorry of what he did. He was afraid that Neung would hate him.

Parb started seeing Maze differently that night.

Phab falls in love with Maze when he draws Maze picture... U are totally correct. But it is not the body that Phab falls for, it is Maze's deep pain & vulnerability. That night he starts to see Maze differently.

When Phab paints, he paints emotions. All of his abstract paintings are named after his emotions at the time he paints them.

I started binge watching. S1 make sense. S2, I just started and feel like it is just an extremely poor story telling.

1. Can't change the the timeline of the story that u already told! Dude!!!

2. Can't chance the character of the existing roles. Some roles from S1 act different on S2... Not cool.

3. They should have done much-much better job briefly what happened to Pete & Ae. They are all over S1 and their love story is epic... how their simplicity complete each other. U can't just leave it out that they broke up (period)... let's roll the bus to the next stop... They are significant in your story telling... you can't just decide the ignore that fact. Brief/give a good narrative of their brake up and I don't mind that they will pick up a different couple to be in the spotlight for this season.
They can still come back and pick up Pete & Ae later in the next season... I can accept that.... This is a poor planing & execution. I am very confused as an audience.
